"It is not necessary to write about the need for education. Every prudent

and intelligent person knows that. But to give young people the

opportunity to get to know each other through “eTwinning” project,

to communicate through modern communication technologies, possibly

through the project “Partnership” would be a nice idea.

Turkey is for many of us not a well-known country. We learn about it just from Geography, friends’

talks, who went there for holiday or maybe from some documentaries.

I do appreciate the initial contact with the teachers – Cüneyt Ünal and Mustafa Günes – who have

addressed me and proposed cooperation.

I hope and wish the idea of an international student’s magazine becomes a reality. Let this magazine

be published several times a year for a long time. It would be great to know each other, our countries,

people, culture, sport... I wish young people, our students would find friendships for a lifetime. May

they have the feeling of fellowship, joy and the satisfaction of meaningful work. I wish the same to the

teachers and the families of our students.

OUR SCHOOL

The Business Academy arised on the 1st

of January in 1994. Our school is located in the part

of the city called Palúdzka. In our area there are floorball court, football court and tennis

court, running tracks, gymnasium, gym, room for table tennis and hostel. In the hostel live

students from different towns and villages of Slovakia. Next to the hostel there is a refectory,

where students and teachers eat. The school offers courses in three unions: Business

Academy, Business Academy-sports class and Economic Lyceum from the school year

2013/2014. Together 236 students attend our school (140 girls and 96 boys). We have 22

teachers and 8 non-teaching staff. A hostel and a refectory employ another people. At the

Business Academy all the unions are 4-year. In addition to natural science such as

mathematics, chemistry, ecology and geography, there are important vocational subjects and

foreign languages.

Vocational subjects are Accounting,

Economics, Macroeconomics,

Statistics, Commodity, Informatics,

Business correspondence and Law.

Every student studies 2 languages

according to his choice such as

English, German, French or

Russian. Slovak language is the

most important for us. Study

finishes with school-leaving

examination. In March there are the internal and external school-leaving examinations in

Slovak language and one foreign language. In April students make school-leaving

examination from vocational subjects in written form. Oral graduation exams take place in

May, again in Slovak language, one foreign language and vocational subjects. Successful

graduates receive graduation certificates. They go to work or study at colleges and

universities.

V našom areáli sa nachádza florbalové, futbalové a tenisové ihrisko, bežecké dráhy,

telocvičňa, posilňovňa, miestnosť pre stolný tenis a internát. V internáte bývajú žiaci

z rôznych miest a obcí Slovenska. Vedľa internátu je jedáleň, kde chodia žiaci a učitelia na

obed. Škola ponúka štúdium v 3 odboroch:

obchodná akadémia, obchodná akadémia-

športová trieda a ekonomické lýceum od

školského roku 2013/2014. Našu školu

navštevuje spolu 236 žiakov z toho je 140

dievčat a 96 chlapcov. Máme 22 učiteľov a 8

nepedagogických zamestnancov. Internát

a jedáleň zamestnáva ďalších ľudí. Všetky

odbory na Obchodnej akadémii sú 4-ročné.

Okrem prírodovedných predmetov ako sú napr.

matematika, chémia, ekológia a geografia sú dôležité odborné predmety a cudzie jazyky.

Do odborných predmetov patria: účtovníctvo, ekonomika podniku, makroekonómia,

ekonomická štatistika, tovaroznalectvo, aplikovaná informatika, hospodárska korešpondencia,

právo. Každý z nás sa učí 2 cudzie jazyky podľa svojho výberu, napr. anglický, nemecky,

francúzsky, ruský jazyk. Pre nás je najdôležitejšia slovenčina náš materinský jazyk-

slovenský jazyk. Štúdium končí maturitnými skúškami. V marci sa konajú externé a interné

maturitné skúšky zo slovenského jazyka a 1 cudzieho jazyka. V apríli študenti maturujú

z odborných predmetov písomnou formou. Ústne maturitné skúšky prebiehajú v máji, opäť zo

slovenského jazyka, 1 cudzieho jazyka a odborných predmetov. Úspešní absolventi dostavajú

maturitné vysvedčenia. Potom idú pracovať alebo študovať na vysoké školy, univerzity.

Hi friends!

“How can I start to write this article?”, it was my first thought. I was very pleased that this

project has become success. My teacher Jana told me about what is needed. I with my schoolmates

are students of Business academy in Liptovský Mikuláš. We all work in our free time on this project.

We meet on Facebook page where we write with our Turkish friends together. They are very

interesting people. We have the chance to find new friends and spend with them the time. It is also

very interesting to visit and discover the other cities. Do you know all girls who are join in it? Or do

you not know who you could write? No? Never mind! You should read this article. We write about

every girl. May be you have some hobbies or opinions like some from them. You can write her or

them and can found good friend. So you should read fast, choose people and write them. Who will

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

DOORS OPEN DAYS

On the 4th

of December we had the Open day. Every door in our school was open for

everyone. At the entrance to the school, there was a group of smiling girls, who accompanied

you all over the school. You could see a big gym, where our sportsmen were playing different

sports. There were also classrooms, as a Russian classroom, where

you could try to read and write, and to watch a Russian fairytale.

The next classroom was a German classroom, where the girls

demonstrated the interviews in German for you. The last was the

English classroom; there was a quiz, a crossword and also a

smiling angel with devil. Since we are already approaching

Christmas, everywhere you got some sweet reward. The whole

school was filled with the voices of students, who will be added to

our large family. The main subjects on our school are economics, law and accounting. Our

school is like a school of play. Our school organizes various events on Saint Nicholas,

Christmas and Easter, as well as a variety of tours to the exhibitions, theatres and many other

events that help us study. We hope that our school family will be growing larger thanks to

these events.

Dňa 04.12. sme v škole mali deň otvorených dverí. Každé dvere na našej škole boli pre

každého otvorené. Pri vstupe do školy vás uvítala skupina usmiatych dievčat ktoré vás

sprevádzali školou. Mohli ste si obzrieť našu veľkú telocvičňu kde sa predvádzali naši

športovci v rôznych športoch. Taktiež učebne ako učebňa ruského jazyka kde ste si mohli

vyskúšať čítať aj písať, a pozrieťsi rozprávku po rusky. Ďalšia učebňa bola učebňa nemčiny,

kde vám dievčatá predviedli rozhovory po nemecky. Posledná bola učebňa angličtiny, tam vás

čakal kvíz, krížovka ale aj vysmiaty čert s anjelikom. Keďže sa nám už blížia Vianoce všade

ste dostali dáku sladkú odmenu. Celou našou školou sa rozoznievali hlasy nadšených

študentov, ktorý sa pridajú do našej veľkej rodiny. V našej škole sa sú hlavnými predmetmi

ekonomika, právo a účtovníctvo. Naša škola je ako škola hrou. Naša škola usporiadáva rôzne

akcie na mikuláša, vianoce a veľkú noc a taktiež rôzne zájazdy na výstavy, divadlá a rôzne

akcie ktoré nám pomáhajú v štúdiu. Dúfame, že naša školská rodinka sa bude vďaka týmto

akciám rozrastať

. A CHRISTMAS TREE

A Christmas tree, a symbol of Christmas, is being decorated every year at our school. It is

always decorated by the third-year students. This year, it was us, the girls from the 3. A, who

decorated the tree. We agreed that the tree wouldn´t be adorned with the Christmas balls, nor

with any ornaments like every year, and therefore we decorated it with dried fruit and the

straw ornaments. In the end we put the glistening candles on it. Such decorations were once

used by our grandparents. They used to dry the fruit on the stoves and hang it as a decoration

on the Christmas tree. They made the ornaments of straw, and paper flakes. We placed our

Christmas tree to the enter hall to remind everybody that winter holiday and the most

beautiful feasts of the year are coming near.

Slovakia language:

Každý rok sa na našej škole zdobí vianočný stromček, ktorý je symbolom Vianoc. Zdobia ho

vždy žiaci tretieho ročníka. Tento rok sme stromček zdobili my, dievčatá z 3. A. Dohodli sme

sa, že nebude ozdobený guľkami a rôznymi ozdobami ako každý rok, preto sme ho ozdobili

sušeným ovocím a slamenými ozdobami. Nakoniec sme na stromček dali ligotavé sviečky.

Takéto ozdoby používali kedysi naši starý rodičia. Ovocie sušili na peciach a potom ho vešali

ako ozdoby na stromček. Vyrábali ozdoby zo slamy a papierové vločky. Náš stromček sme

postavili do vstupnej haly, aby každému pripomínal, že sa blížia zimné prázdniny a najkrajšie

sviatky v roku.

ST. NICHOLAS

The 6th of December is the day, when St. Nicholas gives the sweeties to children and makes

them happy. Of course, St. Nicholas didn´t forget about our school and visited us too. He

brought Black Peter and the angel with him as well. There was also a “fake” Nicholas and “a

school crisis” wondering about the school, who wanted to give the sweeties to almost nobody.

Fortunately, the real Nicholas didn´t let it be and he called on each class, where he, together

with his helpers, pleased every student with the sweet candies. They didn´t even leave out the

teachers, Mr. Headmaster and our janitress. All day was following in the spirit of St.

Nicholas. The students were wearing red Nicholas caps and it was forbidden to study or to test

the students during the lessons. The successful event lay in the hands of the students of 3.A,

who enjoy creating various activities and thus make the life on our school more pleasant.

Šiesty december je deň, keď Sv. Mikuláš rozdáva sladkosti a robí tým radosť deťom.

Samozrejme že Mikuláš nezabudol na našu školu a navštívil nás. Spolu s ním prišli aj čert a

anjelik. Po škole sa takisto ponevieral aj jeden „fakový“ Mikuláš a s ním aj školská kríza,

ktorí nechceli dať sladkosti skoro nikomu. Ale ozajstný Mikuláš to tak nenechal a navštívil

každú triedu, kde potešil spolu s jeho pomocníkmi všetkých žiakov sladkými cukríkmi.

Nevynechali pritom ani profesorov, pána riaditeľa či pani vrátničku. Celý deň sa niesol v

duchu Sv. Mikuláša. Žiaci chodili v mikulášskych čiapkách a v triedach sa nemohlo učiť ani

skúšať. Za túto vydarenú akciu sú zodpovedné žiačky 3. A triedy, ktoré rady vymýšľajú rôzne

aktivity a tým spríjemňujú život na našej škole.

Liptovský Mikuláš (Saint Nicholas) is situated

in the north of Slovakia. It is surrounded by

massive mountains of the Low Tatras (Low

Tatras National Park), West Tatras (Tatra

National Park) and the Choc Mountains. The

town is undoubtedly an attractive tourist

destination and lies on the river Váh. It is

located in Žilina region, more accurately in

the region of Liptov. The biggest water

surface is Liptovská Mara dam.

Slovak:

Liptovský Mikuláš sa nachádza na severe Slovenska. Je obklopený veľkými pohoriami ako sú

Nízke Tatry (Národný park Nízkych Tatier), Západnými Tatrami (Tatranský Národný Park)

a Chočské vrchy. Mesto je nepochybne atraktívnou turistickou destináciou a leží na rieke

Váh. Nachádza sa v regióne Žilina, presnejšie na Liptove. Najväčšia vodná plocha je

Liptovská Mara.

We have a folk hero Juraj

Janošik, who was born in 1688

in Terchova. In 1711 he became

a captain of outlaws. About three

years later, the tribunal delivered

its final judgment: death penalty

-hanging him on a hook over the

left side.

He was hanged in our town on

17th March 1713.

Tourism in our region

Liptovský Mikuláš is an attractive tourist destination. There are a lot of mountains,

mineral springs, caves and ski resorts.

We have a dam called Liptovska Mara and the largest aquapark in Slovakia –

Aquapark Tatralandia.

Liptovský Mikuláš je atraktívnou turistickou destináciou. Je tu mnoho hôr, minerálnych

prameňov, jaskýň a lyžiarskych stredísk.

Máme vodnú nádrž Liptovská Mara a najväčší aquapark na Slovensku – Aquapark

Aquapark Tatralandia

This is the largest aquapark in Slovakia, the

Czech Republic and Poland. It is situated 2

kilometres from Liptovský Mikuláš.

We can find here 32 different toboggans

and slides and 14 pools. A part of aquapark

is the accommodation complex Holiday

Village Tatralandia.

Toto je najväčší aquapark na Slovensku,

v Českej republike a Poľsku. Nachádza sa 2 kilometre od Liptovského Mikuláša.

Môžeme tu nájsť 32 rôznych tobogánov a šmýkačiek a 14 bazénov. Časťou aquaparku je

ubytovací komplex Holliday Village Tatralandia.

Demänovská cave of

It is situated in Demänovská valley in the

Low Tatras. Its length is 8 126 metres. It is

an extraordinary cave because of

unbelievable diversity of colours. The cave

tour usually costs 7 € and it takes about 100

minutes.

Ski resort Jasná

It is situated in the north side of the Chopok Mountain, which is the second highest peak

of the Low Tatras. Jasná is favourite and most visited ski resort. There are altogether 24

lifts. There is also a ski school, a ski service, a snowboard park, snowrafting

opportunities, some restaurants and buffets available.

Nachádza sa na severnej strane Chopku, ktorý je druhým najväčším vrchom Nízkych Tatier.

Jasná je najobľúbenejším a najnavštevovanejším lyžiarskym strediskom. Je tu dohromady 24

lanoviek. Je tu lyžiarska škola, lyžiarsky servis, snowboard park, nejaké reštaurácie a bufety
