Call Extended
On Sunday, May 3, the Trinity voters sent a divine call to Pastor Mark Schutz. Pastor Schutz is currently serving at Hope Lutheran Church in Spearfish, South Dakota. He and his wife, Jill, have three children. Keep Pastor Schutz and his family in your prayers.
Guest Preacher Serving us in worship today is Pastor Kurt
Lueneburg, the director of WELS Christian Giving. After 21 years of serving congregations in Memphis, Tennessee, and Cannon Falls, Minnesota, he started serving as a current giving counselor in our synod’s Minnesota and Nebraska districts. In 2012 Pastor Lueneburg accepted the call to be WELS’ director of Christian Giving and began serving in the position in 2013. He describes his ministry as follows: “Now as director I’m privileged to encourage Christian giving through our team of Christian giving counselors and support staff, and to assist our district presidents, circuit pastors, and Ministry of Christian Giving district chairmen as they help congregations grow their mission offerings. All to God’s glory and by his grace!” Pastor Lueneburg and his wife, Susan Ann, live in Ixonia and belong to St. Mark’s in Watertown.
Door Collection Next week a door collection will be taken
following services for Camp Philip. Camp Philip, located in Wautoma, Wisconsin, is a WELS supported camp for all ages. Summer camp information can be found in the Fireside Room.
TSL First Grade Teacher
The TSL Joint Board recommended, and the St. Luke’s voters approved, that we seek a graduate from Martin Luther College to serve as first-grade teacher. Mrs. Tammie Kassulke, who has been serving in a one-year call as first-grade teacher at TSL, recently accepted a call from St. Mark’s Lutheran School in Watertown to serve in the primary grades. The Call Day service at MLC is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at 2:30.
Ascension Day Forty days after rising from the dead
Jesus ascended into heaven. We celebrate this final event in our Savior’s ministry on earth with a special service on Ascension Day, May 14. We will have one service, in the evening at 6:30. The children from the congregation will participate in a service of hymns, songs and recitations. Come to praise our ascended Lord and to receive instruction from his Word!
Ice Cream Social After the Ascension service this Thursday
we will have ice cream and fellowship in the basement.
Senior Choir The next Senior Choir practice will be on
Wednesday, May 13 from 7:30-8 pm. The final scheduled singing opportunity will be on Sunday, May 31.
Graduation Cards A selection of graduation cards can be
found in the Fireside Room.
Women in Service
WIS will meet Thursday, May 14 at 1:00 in the conference room of the Parish Center. Amber Kaesermann, RN, will give a presentation about Nutrition and Health. Hostess will be Donna Zautner. Women and friends of Trinity are invited for the program, meeting, cookies and coffee.
Marriage Enrichment Half-Day Workshop Saturday, May 30, 9 am - 12 pm
NPH Christian Books & Gifts Store 1250 N. 113th Street, Milwaukee. This interactive workshop for couples includes two sessions full of practical tools to put into action. Session one: "Giving your marriage the attention it needs." Session two: "'Specialize your marriage." Space is limited; register today! Call 414-615-5700 or email [email protected]. Pastor Randy Hunter, director of WELS Marriage Enrichment, will lead the workshop. A graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Rev. Hunter currently serves at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Middleton, WI.
Koiné Concert Koiné presents Visit Illuminated, a multi-
media convergence of art, sound and faith. Experience Koiné's latest album Visit. Based on the idea that God invites us to "visit" with him, Koiné's Visit Illuminated traces this experience from the doorway of the church to the Lord's table where we visit with God in person. Join us at Luther Preparatory School on Friday, May 15 at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). No tickets are needed for this event, but a free-will offering will be gathered. For more details, visit koinemusic.com/illuminated.
