HYMN Joy to the World

OPENING PRAYER ***Lord Jesus, you know what it means to live in a family. You know the joy of the good times, the thrill of the fun times, the challenges of the quirky times and all the blessings of family times. We thank you for allowing yourself into Bethlehem and in that into the home of Mary and Joseph. Thank you for modeling a love for your mom that reminds us of how you treasured your relationships. Thanks for Mary and her love for you – and eventually her faith in you as the Son who came to be her Savior.

We thank you for mothers today. For happy mothers, for faith-filled mothers, for single mothers, for lonely mothers, for hard-working mothers, for worn-out mothers, for those who wished to be mothers and for those who are mother figures in our lives. Bless us as we thank our moms, remember our moms and celebrate our moms. Help our mothers to know that they might be under appreciated by us, but that they are always celebrated by you. In your precious name, we pray. Amen.
