UNCHANGING HAND

VERSE 1Time is filled with swift transition,

Naught of earth unmoved can stand, Build your hopes on things eternal,

Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

REFRAINHold to God’s unchanging hand, Hold to God’s unchanging hand;

Build your hopes on things eternal, Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

Whatsoever years may bring, If by earthly friends forsaken

Still more closely to Him cling.

JEREMIAH 31:15-17 (NLT)

15This is what the Lord says: “A cry is heard in Ramah—deep anguish and bitter weeping. Rachel weeps for her children, refusing to be comforted—for her children are gone.” 16But now this is what the Lord says: “Do not weep any longer, for I will reward you,” says the Lord. “Your children will come back to you from the distant land of the enemy. 17There is hope for your future,” says the Lord. “Your children will come again to their own land.

that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” 2Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” 3Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” 5She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. 7She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

EXODUS 13:17-18 (NRSV)

17When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was nearer; for God thought, “If the people face war, they may change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18So God led the people by the roundabout way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of the land of Egypt prepared for battle.

AnnouncementsJOIN MINISTER CALVON JONES FOR TWO SPECIAL BIBLE CLASSES!

CLASS #1:“Faith, Intimacy, and Dating:

What You’ve Always Wanted to Ask”(Young Adults, ages 18-28)

Thursday, July 27, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

This course will entail thought-provoking information and conversation as it relates to dating and relationships in their various forms. There will be no “right” answers in this course, but students will be pushed, through collaborative engagement, to give and receive God-given answers. We will wrestle and engage the questions that are typically avoided in a church, as it relates to love. You certainly do not want to miss this course!

CLASS #2:

“Jesus and the World Wide Web: Relinquishing Fear and Embracing Justice”

(All ages, during Family Fun Night)

Friday, July 28, 2017 • 7:00 p.m.

This course will offer students viable and significant instruction regarding how to have a strong relationship amid a cacophony of disturbances and influences. Students will discuss and unravel the negative influences of social media and how they may hinder one’s relationship with God. Students will also discuss and come up with the positive ways to utilize social media (Education, Kingdom outreach, social justice awareness, etc.). The class will also discuss the ways in which technology helps believers to pray, spread the love of Christ, fight for equality, and more.

For information, contact Min. Jones, [email protected].
