ORDER OF ON-LINE SERVICE – SUNDAY 14th June 2020

Welcome Lord, direct our thoughts, and teach us to pray. Lift up our hearts to worship you in spirit and in truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Song – I want to scream it out from every mountain top (You are good) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW0UOxwepJQ Confession Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we have sinned against you, through our own fault, in thought, and word, and deed, and in what we have left undone. We are heartily sorry, and repent of all our sins. For your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may serve you in newness of life to the glory of your name. Amen. Absolution Song Collect Song – When I call on your name you answer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sMMZckqMeU Psalm 119:25-32 25 I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word. 26 I recounted my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees. 27 Let me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonders. 28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. 29 Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law. 30 I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws. 31 I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD; do not let me be put to shame. 32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free. Reading – Acts 3: 1-10 Sermon – Ian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJOy_r7SuqQ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Song – Into your hands I commit again all I am https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIFrNKnKazQ Prayers (including the Lord’s Prayer) Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen. Song Blessing

Heavenly Father, our ever-present help in trouble, our fortress and our God: calm the anxious fears of all who turn to you; give strength and healing to those who are sick, and courage and skill to those who care for them; grant wisdom and clarity to those in authority; and humble us all to call upon you that we may be saved not only in this life, but also for that which is to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYERS FOR THIS WEEK Placing our thanks and concerns into the Father’s hands…

Page 4: Trinity News 14 6 2020 · For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen. Song Blessing Heavenly Father, our ever-present help in trouble, our fortress

Loving heavenly Father, at this time of great uncertainty in our country and around the world, we pray that people would turn to you for stability and comfort. We pray particularly for those who don’t yet know Jesus, that through some means in the midst of all that is happening they would hear the good news of him. Grant them repentance and a knowledge of the truth, that they may know you and the secure joy of eternal life in him. For we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our gracious Father, thank you for all those working in health care, and especially those in our congregation who are serving the community within the NHS and public health bodies. Grant them, and all who work in essential services, protection and strength for each day’s challenges, and to work with skill and patience. We also pray for the Prime Minister, the chief medical and scientific officers and the whole Government that they and those who work with them will have wisdom and insight sufficient for the decisions they need to make at this difficult time. We also thank you for the hard work of the Anglican Church at a National and a Diocesan level. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, during your earthly ministry you healed the sick: look with favour on your servants who are ill at this time. Give wisdom and insight to those who care for them; and, if it be your will, restore them to health, so that they may live to praise you for your goodness and grace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God of provision and care, discernment and knowledge: lead us in your love, empower us by your Spirit, and equip us with your gifts; give us hearts full of love for all people, minds open to the signs of the times, and wisdom to know how to respond to the voice of your calling. We ask this through him who’s coming is certain, whose day draws near, your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pray for those in need known us; Bethany Whiddon, Peggy Clark (Lynn Whiddon’s Mum), Joe and Daph Smith, Clive, Brian Emmett (Julie Wilson’s Dad), John Franklin, Dave Keyes, Jo Roddy, David Suttling. Eileen Wady (Jan Willis’ Sister) and Jean Dawson (temporarily in a care home). The bereaved; Barbara from ‘Green Pastures’ family and friends. Also pray for those in our church family and parish thinking particularly of Trinity Road Primary School who returned for set year groups this week. Pray too for their search for a new headteacher and Chair Of Governors.

Pray for our mission partners; Harrison Mungai (Crosslinks), Penny & Juan Carlos de Marces, Nick Russell (Church Army), Ruth Webster (United Mission to Nepal) and Bibles For China (Bible Society). Pray for the widow and children of a man who died recently aged 40. Praise God that his widow found faith through the Church Army mission and consistently accesses the online services. Pray too that she will find comfort and strength in this.
