Vyshnavi Mohan (S3 EEE), Bhadra PriyaS S (S3 ECE) and Divya (S3 ECE)had sub­mitted an innovative idea on ‘effective transportation fo r deaf and dumb’ @ Yuva Master Mind organized by M a- laya la Manorama. A college radio was successfully completed by our students Divya S Nair, Bhadra Priya from ECE and Vyshnavi from EEE. Presently it is implemented in S3, S5 & S7 ECE class rooms. The radio run by the students. Programming may be by the students, faculty and other staff. It w ill carry varie ty of programming like news, sports, cultural activities, music etc.

AUTOMATIC FAUCET CONTROLLER

The IR sensor continuously monitors the obstacles in front o f the faucet.

If we place the hand in front of the faucet, automatically activates the

hydraulic valve which will provide the water fo r a predetermined

time. The time duration will be determined by the RC de lay circuit.

This project has been done by the s3 ECE students under the guidance

Rutronix is a government approved body focused on skill development of B.Tech graduates and to prepare them fo r job interviews. Rutronix courses are PSC approved. Rutronix has rec­ognized Trinity College of Engineering as an Authorized Training Center (ATC). Our three IEDC student executives took part in the ideas challenge contest at the IEDC summit. A fte r the competition one of the Judges interacted with the students, he was impressed by the ideas implemented in their project and gave some tips.

On 23rd August, Trinity IEDC Nodal o fficer DeepuSajeeev and 10 student executive members of Trinity IEDC are participating in the Innovation and Entre­preneurship Development Cell IEDC summit 2016 at G irideepam Convention center Nalanchira, Trivandrum.

The Education Minister, along with VC KTU, addressed the faculty through a webinar on Teachers Day. The Minister urged the teacher to work hard and assured full support from the government and the university.

ECE students celebrated Teachers Day to honor their teachers . Our Principal, Vice Principal, Administrative O fficer, Teachers and some students shared the memories and thoughts about their teachers.

WEBINARHonorable Minister fo r Education of Kerala, Prof. Ravindranath used a w eb i­nar to address the new students o f KTU. He was welcomed by Dr. K P Isaac, the Vice Chancellor of KTU. Dr. Isaac reminded the students they are the generation that needs to bring to life the vision of driver-less cars and 3D printed homes in India. The Minister asked the students to ensure that they attain in depth knowledge in their chosen specialization so that they can be produc­tive engineers fo r the society. The Education Minister Shri. C Raveeendranath addressed the parents of year out students through W ebinar. He informed that KTU will give one more chance to students who were unable to join the third semester classes of the B. Tech programme.

Industrial Visit

Our department had organized an industrial visit fo r S5 Students on 4th November to Ace Components & Electronics Pvt. Ltd. located in Industrial sector of Mysore along with three faculty members. Ace Components & Electronics Pvt. Ltd. is a resistor manufacturing indus­try and was equipped with fully integrated automated manufacturing facility , calibrated testing facility and computerized order processing. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit and a great exposure to our students. W e express our sincere thanks to Principal and management fo r the support.

Foundation stone was laid fo r the M arrio t hotel and resort project jointly by Al Adrak and Artech.Dr. Thomas A lexander, our chairman and CED of Al Adrak and Mr. Ashok, MD of Artech placed the stone on site at Vizhinjam. Rev. Fr. Popson Kuriakose, Shri. Sanil Kumar and Dr. Arun Surendran were present.

Dr. Thomas A lexander inaugurated the fu lly renovated Adrak hotel at Kumarapuram. The renovation has also added new Frespresso Cafe and G rill to the hotel. They will begin func­tioning shortly. Trinity’s Advanced Design and Manufacturing Lab has been assigned the pro j­ect to create a dumwaiter vertical conveyor fo r the grill and cafe.

DUMBWAITERTrinity Team led by Niranjan Sir met at Frespresso Cafe of Adrak hotel in Kumarapuram where Trinity’s A d ­vanced Design & Manufacturing Lab is designing and fabricating a dumbwaiter system to transport food from the kitchen to the cafe upstairs. the design challenges and possibilities.The project undertaken by Department of Mechanical Engineering fo r the Al Adrak Frespresso Cafe fo r lifting foods from one floor to the next is in the final stages of design phase. Lifting mechanism is finalized and con­ceptual design has been completed in Solidworks. Fab­rication and assembly drawing will be completed thisweek. Trinity Cricket Club had a gamely evening with the visit of D. Chandra Senan Nair. He had an interaction session with our cricket team fo r an hour. A wide varie ty o f cricketing matters were discussed. Shri Senan went on to describe the importance of cap and tie fo r any serious crick­eter and how temperament and obedience are the greatest virtues. He called cricket a game of the mind and the body. He went over the basic 1 -2-3 of batting, bowling and fie ld ing. The common misconception about "Mongolian" wicket was also corrected as Mankad wicket. Several cricketing legends like Bradman, Tony G rieg, Clive Loyd, Indian spin master trio, Veng- sarkar and of course Tendulkar prominently figured in the discussions.Later, Shri. Senan bowled a full over to our team captain, Ramprasad, at the new mats in the college ground. Impressed with Ramprasad's batting skills, he has g ifted Trinity a cricket kit and promised us all help in getting resources from the cricket council and sports council.Trinity fam ily thanks Shri Senan fo r his continued support and friendly guidance.

NSS team members conducted a meeting a fte r the flag hoisting. They divided the NSS team members to 10 groups (10 members each) and prepared fo r ‘Manaveyam Project’ and discussed on the ten selected topics. Next they will visit the schools in our Panchayat.
