We see the leaves begin to fall, some cool days blow through and the grass slows down its growth… yes, the heat of summer is over and the hope of cool weather in our hearts… it’s a great time of year. September always starts with the Labor Day weekend so we will not have our classes that Sunday evening and give you the chance to visit with friends/family. This month also brings the Ladies Ministry Event (formerly Tea Party) on September 8th. The theme this year is “All Things New” and promises to be a wonderful event for you ladies and your friends. (Check out the announcement in this Trumpet.) We will observe the Lord’s Supper on the next day (9 th ) and hold our Operation Christmas Child rummage sale on Saturday the 15 th . Last April on the Fifth Sunday Singing, my family put on a concert at my son Jason’s church, Westview Baptist of Deridder, and on Sunday evening the 2 nd we will be doing the concert at my son in law, Brent’s church (First Baptist of Morgan City). THEN we are coming to Trinity and we will hold our concert on the Fifth Sunday (September 30 th .) Gilda and I are so blessed to have our children all serving in their churches and all involved in their music programs, so I am excited to be able to share with my church family the blessings that have been given to us. The concert will be both Southern Gospel and Christian Contemporary. And finally, but not at all the least… we begin our preparation for the Go Tell Cenla Crusade to be held at the Rapides Parish Coliseum on Oct. 10-14. There is still plenty of work and preparation that you can help with so, if you are interested in being involved call the church office and give us your name and we will get you plugged in. When God called us to Trinity in June of 1999, we began to look for a home to purchase for the first time in 20 yrs. We eventually found a house in Deville that we ignored at first for two reasons, it was too much for our budget and it did not appeal to us. But over the course of three months, the price continued to drop until it was actually within our range. But, the second problem with still there… we didn’t like it. It was very plain with no landscaping and it was entirely floored with a carpet that gave my sweet wife the shivers. She agreed to see what could be done to make it more appealing as a purchase and with the addition of two more acres of land we struck a deal. The value was too great to pass up, even though it was not what we wanted. We made an agreement to make the purchase, pay for the house and then make it into what we wanted it to be. It took fourteen years to pay off, but since then, through God’s blessings, we have added 3 more acres and made major changes (the carpet went first!). This same home that we purchased in spite of the flaws has become what we always wanted and more. The teachable moment? Be contented with what God gives you; be faithful to Him in all things and one day what you received with thanksgiving will become the blessing you always wanted. Heb 13:5 “Be content with such things as you have.” Gal 6:9-10 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Pastor Darryl Hoychick

September brings an end to summer and the first days of fall, which is my

favorite season of the year. We see the leaves begin to fall, some cool days blow

through and the grass slows down its growth… yes, the heat of summer is over and

the hope of cool weather in our hearts… it’s a great time of year. September always

starts with the Labor Day weekend so we will not have our classes that Sunday

evening and give you the chance to visit with friends/family. This month also

brings the Ladies Ministry Event (formerly Tea Party) on September 8th. The

theme this year is “All Things New” and promises to be a wonderful event for you

ladies and your friends. (Check out the announcement in this Trumpet.) We will

observe the Lord’s Supper on the next day (9th) and hold our Operation Christmas

my family put on a concert at my son Jason’s church, Westview Baptist of Deridder,

When God called us to Trinity in June of 1999, we began to look for a home to

purchase for the first time in 20 yrs. We eventually found a house in Deville that we

ignored at first for two reasons, it was too much for our budget and it did not

Well, things have surely changed in the Dunlap household over the last few weeks! With Caleb moving

to Lafayette to serve at Our Savior’s Church, Broussard campus, our nest is now empty! It has really been

an adjustment! Not only have we had to get used to him being gone at home, but also at church! There is

absolutely nothing like leading worship as a family unit! But God is faithful and continuing to bless us and

him!

We are really excited about our 5th Sunday Singing this month on September 30th! This was will be a

Hoychick concert, with several members of Bro. Darryl’s family coming to share with us! It’s going to be

fun so hope you can make it!

Also, we are continuing to pray for our area wide Go Tell Crusade that will be October 14-17! They are

having a huge choir on Sunday night of the crusade and asking for people to come and join in! We will

share details as the event gets closer! Both of us are going to be in it and we hope some of you will also!

All ladies are invited to attend our ladies Sunday evening Bible study September 9th at 4:30 pm.

In this six-session video study, Uninvited, Lysa TerKeurst.will help us explore the roots of

rejection, the way other relationships get tainted because of a past rejection, and the truth about

what it looks like to live loved. We will take a visual journey into the Holy Land to some of the

places where people of the Bible such as Hannah, David, and Jesus lived and walked.

Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken—a love

that does not reject or “uninvite”. God wants us to live loved when we feel left out, lonely, and less than.

Study guides are available at Lifeway and Amazon. We meet in ladies classroom, Building D each Sunday evening

at 4:30 pm.

Sunday, September 30th at 5pm

join us for a special

Hoychick Family Concert!
