INTRODUCTION

A clothes hanger, or coat hanger, is a device in the shape of:

Human shoulders designed to facilitate the hanging of

a coat, jacket, sweater, shirt, blouse or dress in a manner that prevents wrinkles,

with a lower bar for the hanging of trousers or skirts.

Clamp for the hanging of trousers, skirts, or kilts. Both types can be combined in a

single hanger.

There are three basic types of clothes hangers.

The first is the wire hanger, which has a simple loop of wire, most often steel, in a

flattened triangle shape that continues into a hook at the top.

The second is the wooden hanger, which consists of a flat piece of wood cut into

a boomerang-like shape with the edges sanded down to prevent damage to the

clothing, and a hook, usually of metal, protruding from the point.

Some wooden hangers have a rounded bar from tip to tip, forming a flattened

triangle. This bar is designed to hang the trousers belonging to the jacket.

The third kind and most used in today's world are plastic coat hangers, which

mostly mimic the shape of either a wire or wooden hanger. Plastic coat hangers

are also produced in smaller sizes to accommodate the shapes of children's

clothes.

Some hangers have clips along the bottom for suspending skirts. Dedicated skirt

and trousers hangers may not use the triangular shape at all, instead using just a

rod with clips.

Other hangers have little rings coming from the top two bars to hang straps fromtank-tops on.

Different size and colors in hangers:

The size of the hangers is mainly ordered according to the garments made.

They are available in every color but mainly used colors are:

1. Black

2. White

3. Transparent white

4. Blue

The hangers are also available in metal which has every color in it.

The hangers with thick laminated poly bag below is mainly used for the kids

wear, hangers are also available in the shape the kids garments itself for

their easy usage and to keep it stiff.

The measurements of the hangers are made from bottom of the hanger

from one end to the other for width and length is measured from hook.

Sometime separate measurement is given for hook if mentioned by the

buyer.

A nd they are always measured in terms of inches.

These are five major steps followed in producing wooden hanger first the raw

materials will be sourced from the suppliers then they are cut according to the

shape which they have prepared earlier ,then they are polished and the shapes

are been corrected ,the fourth main step followed in making hanger is that the

hooks are been fixed to it. Then finally packing is been made.

Lead time:

The lead time for producing hanger depends upon the no of hanger s ordered .it

takes more than 1 to 2 days to produce 4000 to 5000 hangers and if the order quantity

increases it may take 4 to 5 days to produce 20,000 to 30,0000 hangers.

Sourcing hubs:

The hangers also produced more in India in north and they are also done in south

India in places like Hyderabad and also in tirupur in arjun plastics and gowthaminternationals. The other sourcing hubs are Taiwan , Indonesia and china.

P rice:

The pricing for the hangers is done according to their quality of it. There are

hangers starting from Rs 3 to 5 and the min value is Rs 25 and it is also available for Rs

75 which is made of wood but they much preferred only by high end designers and

there also hangers made from recycled wood.

The lowest price in hanger is $32 and the highest price is max $89. And there are

also hangers for $3.which is comparatively very cheap but they can be used only for the

garments that has light weight. The pricing between imported and domestic hangers

doesn t differ much only the transporting cost is been added to it.

Suppliers:

The major suppliers are from Taiwan, china, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, hongkong.

Quality factors:

The quality of the hangers are been checked manually no other tests are been

done for it. Buyer sends the sample of the hanger how it should done before hand and

after the hanger are been purchased the checking is made whether the trims purchased

are similar to it the sample. They also some testing procedure that is used

Selection of trims vs. garment quality:

The hangers differ based on the quality and the weight of the garments. If garment

is made with light weight material low density hanger is used. The hangers with

laminated poly bags are used for kids wear, suits and trousers are given separate

hangers based on their weight and value. And there are also separate hangers for kids

for the comfort

P oly bags:

Poly bags, also known as polythene bags, have a variety of uses in many

industries. In the apparel, garment, sew goods, fabric and related industries, poly bags

are use to protect goods during shipment from dirt, dust, and moisture.

There are basically 4 types of poly bags which are been widely used in factories

they are:

1. Pp poly bag

2. Ld poly bag [low density].

3. Hmhd poly bag[high molecular high density]

4. Pvc [poly vinyl chloride]

P p poly bags : are the one that are with low density and they are bags on which

printing is been made.

Hm Hd: they are very light and very cheap poly bag.

PVC poly bags: the bags those are very thick and laminated.

And poly bags are again classified into:

1. Poly tube/heat sealed.

2. Re closable

y Heat sealed P oly bags are primarily used for dry cleaning and garment storage.

y Self Adhesive Bags can be re sealed even after opening also.

y Button, zip lock also can close the bag after opening once.

y Slider zip lock is actually meant for to work with gloves also, but it also

gives also, but it also gives good feel on the brand when it is presented with the

garments. Hangers can also be welded to the poly bags for socks, under

garments, suits or shirts etc.

y G azetted poly bags are made to accommodate any rise in the packaging, like

shirt collar or shoulder Projection at blazers etc.,

y Bags which consists hangers , buttons, zip lock are generally more than 3 mil

thickness, able to Withstand the load near to hanger area, or the stress applied

near to the buttons etc..

Different colors and sizes of the poly bag:

The poly bags are available in all colors and shape as specified by the buyer. The

color poly bag is called master patch.But the recipe of the colors should also be

mentioned to get the right color needed. And poly bags with printing is also available

The poly bags are available in all sizes as specified by the buyer from 1.5 to

largest as enough to pack one human, these type of poly bags are used for packing

suits and pajamas as open.

Unit of measurements :

Gauzing system/thickness of poly bags

In general, 3 unit of measurement will be used for poly bags,

1. Mill2. Microns3. Gauge

Mill:

This system is widely used for the poly bags in garment industry. Mill is identified asthousand of an inch .1 mill means the thickness is of 1/1000 of an inch.

Micron:

Micron is 1/1000 of an mm.

Gauge:

It is universally accepted system for packaging poly bags. 1gauge is equal to

1/1,00,000 of an inch.so,1 mill is equal to 100 gauge.Conversion:

1mill =25 microns =100 gauge.

M anufacturing process of poly bag:

Ex trusion: Mico Plast operates wide ranges of high-speed plastic extrusion

machines to extrude following materials.

Polypropylene (PP) films

High molecular High Density PE (HM-HDPE) films

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) films

The PP, HM-HDPE and LDPE films are extruded by the rotating platform process, which

ensures uniform thickness of the bags, flat tubes, sheets, carry bags, laminated

pouches, stand-up pouches, zipper pouches and retort pouches. In these machines poly

rolls of PP having the width ranging from 4 inches to 28 inches and HM of width ranging

from 4 inches to 48 inches with thickness varying from 20 microns to 200 microns can

be extruded in transparent form and also by using master batch colors. These products

are extruded from virgin raw materials; hence these are recyclable and eco-friendly.

y The processes involved in poly bags mostly follow line system.

y The raw material is been send through one end of the machine which has all

process followed by it.

irst the sides of the poly bags are been attached and they move to the otherprocess which involves in creating holes at the top of the poly bags for the

handling process.

y And the machine itself has printing options which from which printing is made if

specified by the buyer.

A pplications:

The poly bags are mainly used in packing garments while shipping, they also give

neat look to the garment. They are also used in all walks of life to prevent products,

from mist, dirt and insects.

Lead time :

The commonly used size poly bags will be generally available, so those canbe procured within 2 days. In case of gazetted, printed, with sealing mechanism and attachments will increase the lead time up to 10-12 days, depend upon the buyer.

Sourcing hubs:

The main sourcing hubs of poly bags are from India, china and Indonesia.

P rice:

The price of poly bags in domestic areas starts from Rs 1.25 and the highest is forRs10. But the quality is not much then the product exported. So they are been exported

from other countries to get better quality other than there ill be no more cha.nge in theprice other than the shipping price

Quality factors:

There no separate test done to find the errors in the poly bags they are mostly

done manually. F irst 10% of the trims are been checked and if there are more defect found the other quality is been checked.

Selection of trims according to garment quality:

The poly bags are been selected according to the weight of the garment and alsoaccording to how its been specified by the buyer. The micron of the poly bag alsodiffers according to it.
