Through the Trimac Learning Centre (TLC), Trimac has developed specifictraining programs for the various products and services we provide as wellas for National Tank Services shop and tank truck cleaning division and theBulk Plus Logistics division. These programs, which include product stewardshipandmanuals for drivers, technicians and logistics specialists, are reinforcedwith mandatory classroom time and in-cab or on-the-job training. Our rigorousrecruitment and retention programs and our preferred place to work initiativesallow us to ensure that the appropriate people with the applicable skills are in theproper positions. Hauling chemicals requires specialized equipment, internal tank washing,product handling certification and a strong emphasis on safety. With eight ofour own washrack facilities in strategic locations across Canada, as well asa network of 15 washrack facilities operated by Trimac’s U.S. affiliate, we havea North American footprint capable of handling all types of chemicals and areable to provide cost-effective cleaning solutions to our customers. Dry bulk products include a variety of raw andmanufactured materials. Consistencyof these products ranges from very fine material that flows similar to liquid, such ascement or flyash, to coarse material, such as sand. Product diversity of this magnitudemakes it critical to have a transportation provider with an extensive knowledge of thesevarious products. Trimac’s vast experience transporting dry bulk products has allowedit to develop efficient and cost-effective solutions. Trimac’s terminal infrastructureconsists of 44 facilities that are located across Canada. This allows us to deliver ourcustomer’s products almost anywhere in Canada. In addition, Trimac is able to providetruck to rail solutions through the use of its strategically located transload facilitiesacross Canada. Complementary services including bulk warehousing, mobile storage,bagging and blending operations provide our customers with a one-stop solutionfor their needs.

Dealing with a commodity intended for human consumption requires extreme careand attention to detail. As would be expected, transporting edible products ischaracterized by well-defined processes and rigorous procedures. Trimac has anexceptional track record of transporting edible products safely. To ensure that Trimacdelivers on its track record of safe and efficient transportation of its products, dedicateddrivers, specialized equipment and wash facilities are utilized. In addition, specializeddriver trainers andmanagement have been tasked with ensuring that Trimac is theleader in safe food handling practices within the transportation industry. Industrial gas products include a variety of pressurized gases. Transporting theseproducts is highly specialized since it involves keeping a gas under pressure to maintaina liquefied state for transportation. Hauling gases under pressure requires specializedtrailers and a thorough understanding of the product and specific safety standards fortransporting such products. Trimac employs industry leading safety standards in thedelivery of this product and our drivers are experts in the handling of these gaseousproducts. Our expertise allows us to load and unload these products in a safe andefficient manner. Complementing the expertise of our people is a diverse fleet oftrailers that includes cryogenic trailers, propane trailers and customer-owned trailers.By maintaining a diverse trailing fleet and expert product knowledge we are able tomeet and exceed our customers’ needs in the transportation of industrial gas products.

Within the petroleum operations, Trimac hauls a variety of bulk products from refineriesto service stations, bulk agencies, manufacturing plants and other end users. The distancethat we transport these products varies greatly; from short hauls within cities to long haulsthrough the mountains or along the Great Lakes. While transporting petroleum products,safety is our number-one concern, something that can easily be identified by ourexceptional track record. In fact, Trimac has won several awards from the CanadianPetroleum Products Institute over the years. In addition to our commitment to safety,Trimac employs industry-leading information technology, including in-cab technology,inventory monitoring, and geofencing. We are also able to handle rail to truck needsthrough our transload facilities. Trimac’s extensive fleet across Canada provides ourcustomers with unmatched service capabilities. Resource commodities include a variety of bulk products that are produced by themining sector for export or consumption by industrial users. The distance that theseproducts are transported varies greatly as does the equipment configuration neededto transport each product. Given the diverse nature of the products transported, theequipment required, and the variability in the distance that products are transported,it is critical to have a skilled team that can design the most cost-effective transportationsolution for our customers. Woodchips and wood residual products are an extremely light weight product andrequire trailers with large internal volume capacity to ensure that transportationby truck is cost-effective. Although these products require a less diverse trailingfleet than some of the other products that Trimac hauls, these trailers are specificto the woodchip industry but can be used to transport other products to improvethe utilization of the equipment and the driving workforce. Trimac has been in thewoodchip hauling business for over 31 years and has gained a significant amountof experience and knowledge during this time. In addition to our extensive knowledgein these products, we have highly trained drivers that manage the intricate detailsof loading and unloading these products safely and efficiently.

NTS operates 17 maintenance facilities that perform preventive maintenanceon Trimac’s fleet and offer a wide range of services to commercial customers. Inaddition, NTS’s footprint includes 31 maintenance facilities through its U.S. affiliate.

NTS also operates eight washrack facilities across Canada and 15 facilities through itsU.S. affiliate that perform a wide range of cleaning services for the tank truck industry.
