5/1/2015 Alan Leventhal alan.leventhal@sjsu.edu 711 E. taylor Street, San Jose, Ca. 95112 To Whom It May Concern, After reviewing the Preliminary General Plan and associated draft environmental impact report (Draft EIR) for Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA)posted online, I did not find any evidence of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe's letter that was formally submitted to Alicia C. Perez, M.A.Associate State Archaeologist and dated November 2, 2012 as part of the consultation process with Native American Tribes (see attached). Either we are missing it's location or there were certain failures whereby State Parks and Recreation personnel deliberately decided to not include the Tribe's letter as part of the consultation process. Can someone please point to where this letter is located within this document? If it was excluded, can it please be included as part of the consultation record? The Muwekma Ohlone Tribal Leadership and I recently went over the Preliminary General Plan and associated draft environmental impact report (Draft EIR) for Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) and failed to find the response letter that the Tribe had submitted dated November 2, 2012 (see attached). Even though we thought we searched the document thoroughly, there is a chance that we might have missed its location. On behalf of the Tribe, I had emailed this concern to the contact email addresses provided on the notice, and received the following acknowledged recipt of thethe email: "Your comment on the Carnegie SVRA Preliminary General Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Report has been received." However, I am not too certain that there will be a full response that either points to the letter's location in the Draft or an explanation as to why it was omitted.
