This is how we are punctuated by triathletes who discover this modest competition, with an unique nature and strength, because once you taste its experience, you wont fail in coming yearly to our annual event. We have already had ten editions and an assessment that make us being rated with a ten, because what started as a dream has become a major sporting event with a view on other European and international competitions that have little to envy the big event today day has become the Triathlon of Vitoria. This we know, year after year, all those international athletes, marveling at what here are, repeated and increasingly attract foreign participants, including some of the largest, reaching double the number of last year.

Participants highlighted the professionalism of the organization, the work of the volunteers, and the friendly and close relationship. Of course, they are also surprised by the beauty of the routes in Alava. And besid es, they are hooked by the last stage of the event, which runs through an entire city turned over to give encouragement and warmth to triathletes.

This great event, the biggest sporting event that envolves the citizens of Vitoria, has the great virtue of, in addition to strengthening sport and placing Vitoria as city of reference in the long distance triathlon, placing the city and Alava on the international map with all its tourist potential and services and provide a direct economic return over 5 million euros.

I t is with great satisfaction that we present the 10th Vitoria-Gasteiz TRIATHLON, which will take place in the month of July 2016. Its trajectory has been consolidated by sporting success, and its outstanding organisation has contributed to raising the prestige of our triathlon both nationally and internationally.

It is a real pleasure for me as Regional Government Minister of Alava to be able to greet the participants in this new edition of the Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz, a sporting event which has become a reference both on a national and international level. TRIATHLETE REGISTRATIONTriathlete registration will take place in the main tent in the Expo Zone (Plaza de la Vir-gen Blanca).Registration timetable:Thursday 7th July: 12:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 - 20:00Friday 8th July: 10:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 20:00Saturday 9th July: 10:00 - 20:00Triathlete and companion support of ce:Sunday 10th July: 10:00 - 20:00

MATERIAL FOR EACH TRIATHLETEEvery triathlete will receive a bag including: Race Number Bib Swimming cap Stickers (3 for helmet, 1 for bike and 3 for

transition bagas) Decals for left arm and leg Decals for both sides of the swimming cap 3 transition bags (After Race, Bike, Run) ID wrist bandID wrist band Necessary for access: to the Pasta Party (Friday 8th) to the Organisation buses for material

checks T1 (Saturday 9th) to the buses to the start area (competi-

tion day) to the showers and changing rooms in the

Judimendi Sports Centre.

PASTA PARTYThis will take place in the Campillo Sports Centre (Santa Mara, 4). Entrance times will be established by race number. Information will be available in the race bib collection tent. Entrance time: 19:00 - 21:00 In the registration and triathlete in-formation area tickets will be available to companions for the Pasta Party at a cost of 10 and 5 for those under seven years of age.

MATERIAL CHECKSMaterial checks are obligatory and will be ca-rried out on the day before the competition: Saturday 9th July: T1 16:00 h - 21:00 h.

T2 15:30 - 21:00 h.All triathletes must leave their material for the running leg at T2, and their helmet, swimming cap and bike at T1.The Organisation will provide buses for the triathletes, which will go from T2 to T1 to leave cycling material from 15:45 to 20:00 h. The last bus from Landa to Vitoria will be at 21:30h.

TECHNICAL BRIEFINGThe technical briefing will take place in the Francisco de Vitoria Room in the Palacio de Congresos Europa (Avenida Gasteiz, 85. Tram stop: Europa), in which information will be given regarding any last minute details, safety regu-lations, timetables and circuit conditions For your own interest and safety, it is very impor-tant that you attend. DRAFTINGThe Triathlon at HALF and FULL distance is an individual sport. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with and respect the rules and regulations of the competition. We remind you that drafting is not permitted. Sixty Basque Federation judges will ensure that these rules are respected. This year there will be three penalty boxes on the cy-cling circuit where you must stop on being warned. Infringement of the rules will result in disqualifi cation.

To make the departure quicker and more efficient, buses from hotels NH, SILKEN and ABBA JAZZ will leave from Luis Heintz street, in front of Marianistas School and the Cathedral Car Park. Timetable: 5:45h - 7:00h.We recommend that triathletes and their companions use this bus stop due to its proximity to the fi nish line and to two car parks: Cathedral Car Park: C/Luis Heintz. SWEEPER VEHICLEIf you need to withdraw from the cycling circuit, ask a member of the Organisation (there are over 160 on the cycling circuit alone) to call the SWEEPER service phone number.

ACCESS BY PRIVATE CAROn the day of the competition, private cars will not be allowed to access the area of Landa (T1).

DRAWING ON THE CIRCUITIt is highly forbidden to draw or paint on roads, surrounding areas and streets of the running leg circuit.


RACE NUMBERThis must be visible at al times - on the competitors back during the cycling leg and on his/her front during the running leg.

STICKERS FOR HELMETS, BIKES AND TRANSITION BAGS

You will be given 3 stickers which you must stick on the front and on both sides of your helmet plus one sticker for your seat post.

The other stickers contained in the folder are for your companion.

LEFT ARM AND LEG AND SWIMMING CAP DECALSYou must stick the decals on your left arm and leg and both sides of the swimming cap. RACE NUMBER CARDS FOR TRANSITION BAGSYou must insert a race ID card in each transition bag. You must also complete the box with your personal data.

AFTER RACEIn this bag you should pla-ce the clothes (street-wear) which you are wearing when you arrive at T1 on compe-tition day and leave it in the cloakroom truck.

There will be two trucks one for HALF and one for FULL.

Do not leave valuable objects, documents or keys in this bag.

BIKEThis bag is for the cycling ma-terial which has passed the checks on the day prior to the race (helmet and swimming cap), and any other swimming material if you wish. After fi -nishing the swimming leg on competition day, you will have to leave your material (wet-suit, swimming caps, goggles) in the bag and hang it on your hanger.

RUNYou should place all material for the running race in this bag and leave it at T2.2 on the pre-vious day. On completion of the cycling leg on competition day, you should place all cycling ma-terial in this bag.

MATERIAL COLLECTIONYou must collect your bags at T2.2 and your bike at T2.1 within the following timetable.

There will be a massage service available to triathletes on fi nishing the competition. This will be located in outside the Plaza de Espaa in Mateo Moraza street.

We would like to thank the collaborating organisations for their invaluable help in organising the Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Special thanks goes to: Local Police, Fire extinction and rescue services, the Basque Police Force - Ertzaintza, Miones of lava, the Basque traffi c Police, the Basque
