Resumption of Public Mass & Guidelines for the celebration

of Holy Masses in Sacred Heart & its missions

1.Public weekday Masses & other liturgies resume May 18, 2020.

Public Sunday Mass & other liturgies resume on May 23-24, 2020.

2.We will continue to live-stream Sunday Holy Mass in church

Facebook. You can watch the Sunday Holy Mass in “Alva Sacred Heart

Catholic church”.

3.Persons with health vulnerabilities are encouraged not to attend

public Mass; persons who are sick or feel sick must not attend public

Mass.

4. Given the need for maintaining social distance, parishes will limit

attendance to no more than 33 percent occupancy. To give more

space at Sacred Heart, we will live stream the Sunday Holy Mass in the

Parish Hall & Chapel at the same 9:00 am. All will be given Holy

Communion.

5. Ushers/Greeters at the entrance of the churches will guide you

how to be seated in the church with the social distancing.

6.Those attending Mass are encouraged to bring their own sanitizer &

follow instructions issued by the parish church. Parish churches will

also provide hand sanitizer at the entrances to the church.

7. Parishioners are strongly encouraged to wear face masks (except

for reception of communion) to be in line with public health

authorities.

8. Cry rooms & nurseries closed temporarily. Holy water fonts remain

empty.

WEEKEND COLLECTIONS: May 24, 2020

9.The sign of peace between parishioners will be omitted. After the

priest offers Christs peace to the people & the people respond, the

Mass will continue with the Lamb of God.

10. Holding hands during the Lord’s Prayer is prohibited as it is not

part of the Mass in the Roman rite.

11.Individuals/household units must maintain six feet distance in

the Communion line. The Eucharist will be received in the form of

the Precious Body only & encouraged to receive the Eucharist in

the hand during this time.

12. There will be no coffee, donuts, pancake breakfasts or other

social gatherings. There will be no receptions on church property

during this time. Thank you for your faithfulness, generosity &

patience as we do our part to slow the spread of Covid-19 & keep

our families & most vulnerable safe. God Bless us all.
