BRUTALIST APPROACHAuxiliary takes inspiration from brutalist architecture for it’s raw design and emphasis on materials, textures, and construction. Representing specific functional zones, brutalism exposes its features externally. Tactical-style packs take brutalist themes and apply them to soft goods, making their functional characteristics apparent at first glance.

MODULAR PARTS
The removable parts of the TERRAFLEX system is designed to be flexible to the types of terrain the rider will encounter. The base helmet is perfect for urban cycling, but if the rider wants to hit the trails he/she can attach the chin bar for extra face protection.
Cycling related accidents accountfor 20% of all sports-related TBIs.
70% of cyclists killed in 2010were not wearing a helmet.
Direct impacts can cause the brain to bounce inside the skull.
Quick head rotations can cause the brain to rotate, tearing blood vessels.

TERRAFLEX
NEW TECHNOLOGIES
While wearing a helmet does not guarantee complete prevention of concussions they can lessen the effects of receiving a blow to the head. By incorporating new technologies, the TERRAFLEX helmet can lessen the effects even further, compared to traditional expanded polystyrene helmets.
PREVENTING CONCUSSIONS
![Page 19: Trevor Mast: Industrial Design Portfolio](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062819/579056d41a28ab900c9ae0cd/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
INDUSTRY-LEADING PROTECTIONEnergy Absorption
By combining thousands of polymer tubes together, it creates a structure that has efficient energy absorption. The hollow tubes provide a constant airflow around the user’s head.
Multi-Directional ImpactProtection System
MIPS works by having a free-floating dome that directlyfastens to the wearer. The outer part of the helmet can rotate freely from the user’s head.
