Tresillian off ers four term programs per year with a wide variety of courses on off er including arts, languages, handicrafts and health and fi tness.A quarterly school holiday program for children and youth provides an opportunity for learning new skills in a fun and creative atmosphere.

A painting course that focuses on the basic principles of portraiture. Students will learn the basics through self-portrait drawing and colour exercises during the fi rst three classes. Mosaic – Beginner and BeyondNatalie Zuchetti

Learn about mosaic traditions, methods, materials, adhesives and substrates, as well as how to cut and lay tessera, and fi nd out how to create andamento in your work. You will be shown how to create a mosaic for internal or external display on a 2D substrate using the tutor’s or your own inspired design. Use various materials including vitreous glass, smalti, stone, ceramic tiles and mixed media.

Encaustic painting can be dated back to Ancient Greece and Egypt. Also known as hot wax painting, it is a spontaneous medium where wax is applied to wood panels. Use paint, collage materials, photos, newspaper and dried leaves to incorporate your own style.

We cover a wooden panel with a mixture of drywall plaster and gesso. When it is almost dry, we carve into it using various mark-making techniques and use inks, paints and glaze to achieve interesting eff ects.

Explore collagraph as a fun and expressive printmaking medium. Develop and create a number of textured plates from cardstock cut-outs, embossed paper and textiles. Use various printing techniques to generate a wide variety of richly layered and colourful images. This two-day workshop is suitable for novice printmakers and more experienced artists.

Explore the vast range of mark-making and unique textural variations of diff erent types of ground in copper-plate etching. • Due to popularity of courses, places cannot be held without payment.

• An enrolled student cannot have another individual attend a class in their absence.

• Students may only attend the day and time of the class they are enrolled in.

• Swapping of classes is not permitted.• Participants in the term courses, full day and
