SET IT OFF I’LL SLEEP WHEN I’M

DEAD

SET IT OFF I’LL SLEEP WHEN I’M DEAD

Page 2: Treatment Sheet

‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead’ is the nightmarish story of a

teen with insomnia. The never-ending nightmare of

insomnia is a story that many teens will be able to

relate to.

The moment when time just comes to a standstill and you

feel like you’re trapped in an unending darkness for the

rest of eternity is the exact moment that is captured

within this film.

Throughout the night, the teen becomes more and more

broken. The process sped up by the beat of the song.

Tortured by the increasingly distorted and grotesque

images that surround him, representing the slow

disintegration of his mind as it tears itself apart.

As his mind starts to break down, so do his

surroundings. Visions of his bedroom objects exploding

and dissipating ensconce his mind. His pleas for help

are heard by no one. He is all alone.

Only sleep will free him from his waking nightmare.

Only death will allow him to sleep.

Page 5: Treatment Sheet

Video opens with the sad piano, move across a dark room. A

cowering figure is eventually revealed, slowly coming into

focus.

rest of the band performing in a dark room. Multiple cuts

around the band, focusing on different members. Tears of

blood flow down the singers face.

Chorus kicks in. Cut to cowering figure, holding his head

and quivering intensely. Cuts between him and band a few

times while he tries to stand up. Falls in slow motion,

static and distortion increases.

around the band. Switches between the band and the

character, both him and the singer laughing demonically.

Shot of clock in sync with the clock audio.

Cut to character, acting shaky and nervous. First person

shot of his hands, shaking and becoming distorted.

Television turns itself on, features the band playing the

song. Character walks towards it angrily as we go into the

Camera focuses on main character, holding legs and crying on

floor. Broken television can be seen behind him. Cuts to singer,

singing next line with eyes open very wide. Cuts back to

character crying on floor while screen is pulsating.

Cuts to a close-up of his face and then back to the band. Cuts

to the character and then spins around him as he sits up against

the wall, shaking and looking around the room until he sees

something in the dark.

A beastly apparition appears through some crazy cutting and

flashing. The beast smashes the characters head against the

wall.

Scene focuses on the band as they call out to the audience just

as in the lyrics. They will begin to head bang and other shots

will be shown of the audience they are shouting to.

Camera cuts back to the character as the beast disappears and he

falls, in slow motion, to the floor. Cuts to a clock smashing in

slow motion and then cuts to the band, has multiple shots around

the band.

Focus on the band, camera spins around them. Cuts to the feet of

the character lying on the floor. A series of fast cuts moves

the camera up his body to his still, lifeless face.
