MAGAZINE TREATMENT

Page 2: Treatment

The main target audience for my magazine is going to be students

ranging between the ages of 16-21. The parents of these students are

going to be between the B-C2 socioeconomic category, so therefor

been as the main target audience are students they will not have the

disposable income so they will be relying on their parents for the finance

to fund for the magazine. The magazine is going to be aimed at both

genders as the R&B genre is extremely diverse and caters for both tastes within the gender categories.

They will be ranging between the Hedonists category and the Aspirers as they are aimed at people who just want to have a good time, this is very stereotypical of the target audience.

TARGET READERSHIP

The magazine will be a standard A4 size, with a bright vibrant colour scheme which is typically appealing to the target audience. The magazine

will include a range of topics about music and the industry including interviews with up and coming artists and producers, news, reviews etc.

The magazine will also feature famous celebrities on the front to tie in with the R&B genre which the audience will find of great interest, these

will contain possible role models of the audience, attractive male/females or R&B pin-ups, such as Rihanna, Chris Brown, Drake etc.

The cover lines of the magazine will contain information that the audience will find typically interesting, with ideas ranging from the latest

news and interview with the stars, to competitions involving a range of different prizes such as a ‘meet and greet with their favourite R&B star.

The magazine will be contain bright and vibrant graphics for the colour scheme, but will also have a fairly sophisticated organised feel, to cater

to the student audience as they would not appreciate the cluttered feel of some of the younger music magazines. It will be priced at around £3.00 which is a very competitive price for the music magazine which makes it

affordable, therefor making it appealing to the target audience.
