Multichannel selling is the order of business for airlines today. Offering 24/7, customer-friendly services via carrier websites plays an important part in this strategy. It raises the cost-efficiency and allows non-automated parties to be part of the global paperless supply chain. CHAMP Cargosystems’ Traxon cargoWEB+ is a well-proven, modular self-service tool to upgrade the functionalities of an airline’s website. At the same time it eases the working day of SME forwarders without host-to-host connection.

E-enabling customers to participate in the eAWB initiative
CHAMP’s Traxon cargoWEB+ enables airlines to offer a professional, round-
the-clock customer service via their websites. This saves staff hours and brings
important process improvements. Electronic data entry translates into better
data quality, real-time data availability, and secured data transparency.
Traxon cargoWEB+ enables small and medium sized forwarding customers
without host-to-host connections to participate in the eCargo revolution. It
considerably simplifies their work as they can manage their shipments from
A to Z conveniently and efficiently via the web any time from any computer or
tablet.
A large number of forwarders already use the Traxon cargoWEB+ application
embedded into airlines’ websites. Without embracing the multitude of SME air
cargo agents the ambitious IATA goals for paper free cargo handling cannot
be achieved. The application drives cost efficiency for carriers and forwarders
equally.
Simple connectivity
Operating as a web-based service, all or a select number of Traxon cargo-
WEB+ modules are easily connectable to an airline’s cargo management sys-
tem. In particular, for customers using CHAMPs Cargospot system, the service
is tightly integrated with Cargospot, reducing complexity for
the forwarder, maximizing efficiency of e-Booking and e-AWB
management for the airline.

CHAMP’s Traxon cargoWEB+ empowers airline customers
Flexible and scalable according to airline requirements.
CHAMP’s Traxon cargoWEB+ technology has been in use since 2009. The
features have been continuously extended in response to growing demands.
The functionalities of the application depend on the airline set-up for forwarders.
There are different modules for availability, air waybill and house air waybill data
entry, air waybill stock control, shipment tracking, schedule publication, single
and multiple booking requests, booking management tools and templates to
store and reuse booking, AWB and HAWB forms for recurring freight. The
solution also includes many convenience features such as booking history
reporting and shipper/consignee capture. The tool has a user-friendly design
with self-explaining functionalities. If additional assistance is required a 24/7
help desk is available.
The usage of the application is managed and controlled by the carrier. The
airline decides which functions are to be offered and which customer has access
to which function. The self-registration of a
customer for access is fast and easy. New
users can also be added by the airline as
required. The user platform works with a traffic
light system that automatically alerts supply
chain partners when information is missing.
 FWB and FHL data capture
Booking (new, update, can-cel, single, multiple, DGR)
 Allotment and interline booking
 Shipment tracking (general, personalized)
Flight schedule, routing and availability functions
Alert function for incorrect data entry
 Air Waybill stock control
 Record recall
 Defined user role concept
 Usage reports
Look & feel matches airline’s website
Configurable parameters according to airline prefe-rence
Secure as isolated from core cargo system
Data will be automatically stored in airline’s core system

Flexible and scalable accor-
ding to airline requirements.
A single login into the airline’s
website gives a customer
access to the Traxon cargo-
WEB modules. Depending
on the choices made by the
carrier these can range from
AWB and HAWB data capture
to eBooking and shipment
tracking.
(1) Once the customer has
registered and has been
accepted by the airline
administrator he may proceed
with the data entry. (2) Traxon
cargoWEB+ then creates a
CargoIMP message that is
sent to the CHAMP network.
(3) There it is converted
into the preferred message
format of the airline, (4) a
syntax check is done and the
message is on-forwarded to
the carrier. (5) The carrier can
now process the message
Connecting non-automated parties fast and easy
and perform the action, (6) produce a reply message, (7)
do a syntax check, and send it to the CHAMP network.
(8) CHAMP again converts the message to the CargoIMP
format and (9) sends it to the web application. (10) Here
the message is automatically converted into html and
displayed on a response page.
The Traxon cargoWEB+ service is configured to the
airline’s look-and-feel including logo and page attributes
All process steps are carried out in the background in real-time.
such as colors and fonts. Access to the service is under
the full control of the airline administrator. Users can be
activated, disabled and enabled according to require-
ments in addition to setting limits for functions that can
be performed. The application
combines IT expertise with a deep
knowledge of the air cargo industry
and a strong customer focus.
