TRAVISTAILSABOUTUSWe protect American Power; we are Travis Air Force Base! We are the 60th Air Mobility Wing, the 349th Air Mobility Wing, and the 621st Contingency Response Wing. We are strategically located on our nation’s west coast, we rapidly project American power anytime...anywhere. Our Airmen and Travis Tails-the C-17 Globemaster III, the C-5M Super Galaxy, and the KC-10 Extender-are serving locally and engaging globally. We serve as a key pillar to our nation’s ability to deliver supplies in peacetime and in war where we measure our response time in minutes and hours, not in weeks or months. At times, that response is to assist our local agencies as a fire threatens nearby communities or to provide life-saving medical care to an 11-year-old child from the Sacramento region. We value these responsibilities and we will always hold them sacred...and yet we know that Travis Air Force Base could not accomplish this without support from our community. Beyond a partnership, it is the relationship we have with our surrounding neighborhoods and cities that make living in Northern California one of the best places in the world. As a means of saying ‘Thank you,’ this year’s air show is honoring Hometown Heroes; not just those in the military, but our community partners who go above and beyond to keep our region safe and healthy.

There is nothing like attending an Air Show, and there will certainly be nothing like the 2019 Thunder Over the Bay - Travis Air Show happening on March 30 - 31, 2019. Travis Air Force Base roars to life as airplane aficionados and thrill seekers of all ages enjoy spectacular and explosive aerial acts. Highlights will include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the F-22 Raptor Demo Team and a variety of Military & Civilian Aerial Acts. If that’s not enough, over 150,000 Visitors will enjoy two days of incredible ground acts, static displays and activities. The Thunder Over the Bay Air Show will be one of the most dynamic events of the year!

EVENTDEMOGRAPHICSMore than 12 million people attend more than 350 Air Shows (Open Houses) annually. Military Air Shows and Open Houses draw large numbers of demographically attractive spectators - a well ed-ucated, affluent group of men, women and children of all ages. During the past decade, Air Shows drew nearly twice the attendance figures of NFL football! Air Shows deliver significant and mea-surable results for everyone, from mature product marketers with broad customer bases, to new product marketers, to those with specialized or niche customer bases.
