DAY 7 Friday 22 January 2021 Cape Town, South AfricaToday we board our flight to Cape Town – one of the great cities of the world. We join our local guide who will take us on a sightseeing tour to see many fabulous sights, such as the imposing brick and stucco Houses of Parliament, the Victoria and Alfred dock area, and the Bo-Kaap area, where the Cape Malays live in brightly coloured cube houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. We take the cable-car up Table Mountain for wonderful views of Table Bay, the city and the sea. Later we are transferred to our hotel.

DAY 8 Saturday 23 January 2021 Cape Town, South AfricaToday we will enjoy a full day tour to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, the most south-westerly tip of Africa. These promontories were key beacons for the early explorers and are the source of many myths and legend. At the Cape we will see the famous lighthouse first erected in 1860. On route we will visit Simons Town, a pretty coastal town which is South Africa’s main naval base and consists of lovely Victorian buildings, quaint streets and walkways and a fascinating history.

DAY 9 Sunday 24 January 2021 Embarkation/Cape TownWe will enjoy a free morning. This afternoon we are transferred to the port to check in to the Queen Mary 2, our home for the next nineteen nights. We do not sail until tomorrow evening, so tonight we can either enjoy the facilities of the ship or explore Cape Town by night.

DAY 10 Monday 25 January 2021 Cape TownToday is a free day for independent exploration. Perhaps visit Robben Island, the prison island where Nelson Mandela spent 13 years before becoming the first black President of South Africa. Be sure to be back on board before the Queen Mary 2 slips her moorings in early evening to start our cruise through the Indian Ocean and across to Australia.

DAY 11 Tuesday 26 January 2021 At seaA free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship. Why not take a swim in the marvellous out-door pool or play shuffleboard this morning? Enjoy a Broadway-style show in the theatre this evening.

DAY 12 Wednesday 27 January 2021 Port Elizabeth, South AfricaThis morning we arrive in Port Elizabeth. Today we travel north to the Addo Elephant Park, one of the larger national parks in South Africa. Over 550 Elephant make the park home, as well as Cape Buffalo, Black Rhino, a variety of antelope species and the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. Addo National Park is indeed a unique and diverse wildlife sanctuary. We will look out for Elephant, Lion, Rhino and many other wildlife on our safari through the park before returning to the ship.

DAY 1 Saturday 16 January 2021 Johannesburg, South AfricaWe depart Australia and travel to Johannesburg, South Africa. Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel.

DAY 2 Sunday 17 January 2021 Chobe National Park, Botswana This morning we take the short flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival we board our air conditioned coach for the journey to our safari lodge on the banks of the Okavango Delta in the Chobe National Park. The park extends over 11,700 sq.km encompassing floodplains, swamps, woodland and the Chobe River. The park boats over 450 species of birds plus Giraffe, Lions, Cape Buffalo, Hippos, Crocodile, Leopard, Impala, Elephants and Zebra, all of which are frequently viewed on Safari. After settling into our hotel, we will have a Sunset River Cruise of the Chobe River, a perfect opportunity to see Hippos, Crocodiles and Elephants crossing the river.

DAY 3 Monday 18 January 2021 Chobe National Park, BotswanaOur first full day on safari in the Chobe National Park is sure to be another day of great wildlife sightseeing and memorable experiences. We will enjoy a 4 x 4 morning safari and hopefully see the ‘Big 5’ – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo.

DAY 4 Tuesday 19 January 2021 Chobe National Park, BotswanaOur second day on safari in the Chobe National Park is sure to be another day of great wildlife sightseeing and memorable experiences. We will enjoy a 4 x 4 evening safari and hopefully see the ‘Big 5’ – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo.

DAY 5 Wednesday 20 January 2021 Victoria Falls, ZimbabweThis morning we will be transferred to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival we will book into our hotel and the rest of the afternoon will be free for individual sightseeing.

DAY 6 Thursday 21 January 2021 Victoria Falls, ZimbabweThe Victoria Falls are among the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The Zambezi River, which is more than 2 kilometres wide at this point, plunges noisily down a series of basalt gorges and raises an iridescent mist that can be seen more than 20 kilometres away. Today we tour the great falls. A great day to experience one of the major natural wonders of the world. We return to the hotel and the afternoon is free. You may like to take a helicopter ride over the falls, or take a walk with lions.

DAY 14 Friday 29 January 2021 Durban, South AfricaToday we will spend the day learning about the Zulu people in South Africa. This tour includes a visit to the Shaka Zulu Memorial and a Queen Nandi tour, with a focus on Shaka Zulu and traditional Zulu life. Shaka, king of the Zulus was born around 1787. He was chieftain of the Zulu tribe, and described as the “African Napoleon” for his military genius and consolidation of hundreds of South African tribes under the Zulu Empire. The full-day tour begins at the King Shaka Memorial, which is the site of his royal homestead and also the place where he was killed. Visit Shakaland, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience Zulu culture first hand, learning about the customs and social norms of Zulu life.

DAY 18 Tuesday 2 February 2021 Port Louis, MauritiusToday we arrive at the beautiful island of Mauritius. We have a sightseeing tour of the island and the capital, Port Louis, which still retains aspects of its pirate past. We’ll visit the Pamplemousses Gardens with its spectacular display of giant water lilies, and take in the beautiful scenery of the island and its stunning beaches.

The Queen Mary 2 is sleek and contemporary with the most advanced technological features and luxurious appointments. The Queen Mary 2 continues the heritage of cruising of the 1930s and the great Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Elizabeth 2. Clothing on board Queen Mary 2During the day casual clothing is typical, although shorts and swimwear are not permitted in the formal restaurants. There are some nights at sea classified as formal for dress purposes. During the evening on formal nights, a dinner suit or dark suit for gentlemen and eveningwear for ladies is required for the main restaurants. Smart casual attire is required in the public lounges and restaurants.

Don’t worry about coming aloneAbout a third of people on the cruise travel alone. We will match people in twin-share cabins when available, saving you the single supplement. DAY 19 Wednesday 3 February 2021 Le Port, ReunionToday we call in to the island of Reunion, a French colony since 1813. We will have a sightseeing tour of this rugged, mountainous island. We see the capital, Saint Denis, and travel inland to the mountains where we will see some spectacular waterfalls.

DAY 20 Thursday 4 February 2021 At seaA free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon we will have a fun game of Trivial Pursuit with prizes for the winners.

DAY 21 Friday 5 February 2021 At seaA free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship.

General Information and Booking ConditionsTouring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this tour without the need of assistance from others.

TOUR OPERATOR: Travelrite International Pty Ltd (ABN 64 005 817 078) is the tour organiser. Queen Mary 2 is operated by CUNARD Cruises and cruise arrangements are subject to the terms and conditions and general information detailed in the CUNARD Cruises brochure for the Queen Mary 2. All passengers must complete a Cunard online check-in and Travelrite International booking form.DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A deposit of $1,000 per passenger should be sent with a completed Travelrite International booking form that lists your requested cabin category. As soon as the booking is confirmed, (usually within 24 hours), a cruise confirmation advice will be posted to the client. The confirmation advice will contain all details. The passenger must also complete the Cunard Personaliser and return the Travelrite Booking Form to Travelrite International.
