Many tour and travel businesses fail to plan

for a crisis. Delays, disorganisation and lack

of planning can lead to serious reputational

issues for your business.

We have seen many events and incidents that

have taught us that a crisis event can occur at

any time and most often will be completely

beyond the control of the tour operator.

It is not uncommon for large companies to

have their own, experienced in-house crisis

team to manage these events, but many

smaller organisations simply don’t have that

resource. That’s why we designed our 24/7

Crisis Response service.

detrimental or prejudicial eff ect on your liability position or brand

Directors & Offi cers Liability (‘D&O’) is an often

overlooked insurance. Unlike most business

insurance policies D&O covers losses or

advancement of defence costs in the event

you suff er claims made personally against

directors of your business. These are usually

legal actions brought against individuals for

alleged wrongful acts in their capacity as

directors

Thankfully such incidences are rare, however

they are increasing. In the event of a claim

being made directly you could be facing the

prospect of a lengthy court case and the

possibility of your personal assets being at risk.

Page 11: Travel Risk Professionals

Our D&O policy will respond to a variety of scenarios, including but not limited to:• Employment issues • Pollution • Corporate Manslaughter defence • Shareholder Action

Our D&O policy will provide a broad level of very cost-eff ective coverage, including:• Corporate Manslaughter Defence Costs• Civil penalties and fi nes• Investigation defence costs• Cover for costs incurred by the company on behalf of the director

or offi cer• Emergency costs and expenses• Compensation for court attendance

Given the nature of the travel and tour

operator industry it is likely you and your

employees will undertake UK and overseas

travel on behalf of the business.

Going abroad without adequate travel

insurance is inadvisable. Many businesses rely

on the purchase a one-off policies each time a

trip is made. Some rely on policies that are not

designed for businesses.

Travel Risk Professionals can off er a cost

eff ective and competitive solution from a

range of specialist insurers that will provide

you with an annual staff travel policy, avoiding

the need for multiple purchases throughout

the year. B
