Jennifer and Hunter find the house of theirdreams, just in time for Jennifer to give birth totheir first child. Things start to take a wrong turnand they find themselves in the middle of theirown horror story.



Chapter 1

The Big Move

Jennifer and Hunter were married two

years ago. In those two years they seemed to

have fallen more and more in love with each

other. Jennifer always looked good to Hunter

with her long dark hair and hazel eyes she

always kept him on his toes. He wasn’t bad

either he was almost every girls dream, a

muscular man with a good heart

They were still living in hunter’s one

bedroom apartment, or what he liked to call,

his bachelor pad. It was too small for the two of

them and now they were adding a new

member to their family they had to make a

move. Jennifer was relieved when Hunter



decided that raising a child in his old bachelor

pad was not the best idea. Now they were

ready to make a change; it was time to say

farewell to the good old days and hello to their

new family life.

They were determined to find the right

house, and the real estate agent Jennifer found

seemed as committed if not more, to selling

them the right home. She would have them outtwo or three times a week looking, at four of

five houses at a time, but to Hunter who was

used to getting everything right then, she was

still slacking.

They were on the road looking at what

was to be the last home of the day. They had

already seen three different homes that day,

and they were beginning to get frustrated,



none of the houses were what they were

looking for, and Hunter was sure they were

going to find a fault with this last one too.

“Hey you know, Jennifer maybe we

should get a new agent, we have been at this

for weeks now, she never seems to have the

time anyway.”

Jennifer was just as frustrated as Hunter

was, but she had a lot more faith, she knewthey would soon find a house that would fit

both of their expectations.

“I know just give her one more week and

if she can’t find any thing for us, will find

someone different”.

They both knew they were running out

of time. Jennifer only had three more months to

go, before the new edition to their family would



arrive. She was beginning to look like a big red

tomato, in her favorite red maternity shirt, and

the bigger she got the harder it was to walk

around.

Never the less this was the last house of

the day and she had plans on going straight to

bed when she got home. Jennifer had no desire

to get out and look at it, but when they pulled

in to the driveway she was shocked“Out sides not bad, bet the inside is

trashed, I can just imagine what’s waiting for

us inside.” laughed Hunter.

As they walked up to the door to meet

the agent, they noticed an elderly couple living

across the street, unloading groceries from

their car. The couple stopped unloading the

car; they seemed to be more interested in



what Jennifer and Hunter were up to. They

didn’t appear to be happy about the idea of a

young couple looking at the house it was

apparent by the disappointment in their faces.

“I bet their thinking there goes the

neighborhood” Hunter chuckled as he

commented on the old lady’s sour look. He

could see her mouth something to her

husband, he couldn’t make out what she wassaying but he knew it wasn’t anything good.

Then to add insult the two shook their heads in

disapproval while they continued to unload

their groceries form the car.

“Well at least we know the Neighbors

are friendly” replied Jenifer with her ever so

smooth sarcasm.



The fun loving mood changed as they

walked through the front door. Hunter thinking

this was another disaster, walked in with his

head down. It wasn’t until after Jenifer and the

real estate agent gasped, did he raise his head.

They were both pleasantly surprised at

how big and roomy the home was. The first

room they walked into was the living room. A

large chandler was hanging from the ceiling;and the main attraction was a bay window with

a view of the flowers and trees outside. Across

from the living room was a dining room, and

then the kitchen the heart of any home and

this homes heart was huge. As they turned to

the left of the kitchen down a long hallway they

came across one of the bath rooms it was so



elegant, just like one of those bath rooms in at

upscale hotel, even the bath tub had jets.

As the agent took them room by room

Jennifer and Hunter’s eyes sparkled with

delight. The real estate agent saw the look in

their eyes; it was a look she was very familiar

with. It was the same look that signed her pay

checks; she knew she had a sale.

She smiled and said, “I told you, I wouldfind the perfect place. So what do you think?”

They both looked at each other then

simultaneously shouted “yes it’s perfect, well

take it.”

“ Give me a couple of days to get the

paper work together, I will call you when its

ready, Oh, also you’ll both be happy to know



this is immediate occupancy, so after we close

you can move right in.”

Although it felt more like weeks it really

only took a few days for them to get the call to

come in and finalize the paper work. When

they pulled up to the office it was like the

entire staff pulled out the red carpet. All the

agents were standing in the lobby welcoming

them as they walked through the door. Itmade them feel like they were the only clients

the agency had. Then at the end of the

hallway was Kathy their agent standing there

looking very excited as if this was her first

home sale. She guided them in to her big

office with a view of the school across the

street.



“Would you like any coffee “asked

Kathy as she started to push paper work in

front of Hunter. “

“No, we just want to get this over with so

we can start moving.” Said Jennifer as she sat

down across the desk from Kathy, she turned

her head to see an older couple standing just

outside the office. The woman seemed to enjoy

talking with the staff. She seemed to have apleasant personality. Her husband on the other

hand was more reserved.

Kathy noticed Jennifer starring at the

couple “Yes they are the owners and you will

have a chance to speak with them after we are

finished here. They can tell you all about the

house,” Kathy’s confident smile turned to a

slight look of worry then she smiled real big.



“You know, garbage day and so forth.

Just sign the bottom of the document and

make sure you date it, and then I will introduce

you to the Tailor’s.”

Mrs. Tailor was an older thin woman with

brown hair, and thick lips, she seemed shy and

quite, but Mr. Tailor was just the opposite he

was a large man with thick black hair and he

didn’t seem like the type to mix words if hehad something to say he would say it. As

Hunter walked out of Kathy’s office Mr. Tailor

met him by the door with the keys in his hand

he passed them off as the two shock hands,

then Mrs. Tailor headed over to Jennifer with a

smile on her face, Jennifer could tell what she

was going to ask. So Jennifer put on her big



smile and greeted Mrs. Tailor and just like

Jennifer predicted Mrs. Tailor asked her.

“So when’s the due date?”

“I just have three more months left, and I

can’t wait.”

“Well I hope the two of you enjoy your

new home I almost hate to give it up but….”

Mr. Tailor interrupted “Ok we better hurry if we

want to get to air port on time, Hunter It wasnice to meet you.” Mr. And Mrs. Tailor headed

for the door the last thing Jennifer and Hunter

Heard was Mr. Tailor telling his wife to “hurry

up we can’t dwell on the past we have a new

life ahead of us. “

Kathy turned to Jennifer with her big

winning smile “they are leaving for Florida

today. He retired two months ago and they



bought a small place by the water. Gee you

can’t tell he is in a hurry can you?, he didn’t

even give her any time to say good bye, oh

well Florida may just be what she needs to

bring her out of that shell,” then Kathy turned

to Hunter “ ok well you have the key and you

can start moving in any time now. “

Before getting in the car Hunter tossed

the Keys in the air a couple of times “let’s goround up some of the guys together and I

guess we better pick up some bribery beer “.

“Well I suppose I can wait till next week

to move in since you guys will need three or

four days to recover from the hangovers

“Jennifer laughed as she wedged herself in the

car.



Hunter got in the car and tossed

Jennifer his cell phone. “I’ll drive and you make

the calls, the first call I want you to make is to

Mike he has the week off and he owes me a big

favor its time for me to cash in.”

So Jennifer made the calls, and of course

the promise of beer bought Hunter and Jennifer

a whole moving crew by the end of the car ride

home. It didn’t take long either, by the time Jennifer started packing up clothes in the bed

room Hunters friends were packing up the

living room and kitchen, it only took half the

day and they had the rest of the day to drink

and talk. Moving everything to the new house

would have to wait for the next day they were

in no shape to do it that night. By the end of

the night all the men were passed out on the



floor, and Jennifer the only sober one of the

bunch had the task of helping Hunter to bed. I

should leave you on the floor. She thought as

she gave him a big push to the bed. He fell

with his upper half on the bed and his feet still

touching the ground. She bent down and

picked up his legs and tossed them on the bed

too. Before turning in herself she set the alarm

clock, and placed it by Hunter’s side of the bedso he would be sure to hear it.

Early the next morning the alarm went

off just as Jennifer had planned. “Shit”, Yelled

Hunter, as he swiped at the alarm clock,

knocking it to the floor. Jennifer already awake

and dressed came in with a big cheerful smile,

“good morning, rise and shine” she said as she

picked the clock up off the floor. “I made coffee



and the guys are waiting for your lazy butt to

get ready, they already loaded up the moving

truck, I had to stop them from loading you up

with the bed. I don’t know how long I can hold

them off so you might want to get up before

they barge in and get you.” Hunter still barley

getting his act together, stumbled out of the

bed, and raced full force to the bathroom.

It was a rough morning for all of the guysbut not Jennifer, who had to be the one to

supply them with coffee and motivation. By the

afternoon everyone seemed to have it

together. They piled up in their trucks and cars

and followed Hunter and Jennifer to the new

home.



While Hunter and his friends started to

unpack, Jennifer had the hard job of setting

back and watching them, for her it was hard

because she was so use to being in charge and

now all she could do is grit her teeth and watch

as the men plopped box after box on the floor

then instead of carefully putting dishes away in

cupboards they practically through them in.

Hunter Knew she was having issues with it, butafter the morning he had all he could do was

laugh at her.

“We just have to get a couple more things off

the truck then we are going back for the baby

furniture. Do you want to come with us?”

Jennifer stud up for a second to go with

them, but when she looked in to the kitchen

and saw the boxes of dishes setting on the



counter she decided to stay and put them

away. As Hunter walked out he gave her a kiss

and told her to not over do things.

She opened up the kitchen window to let

some air in, then turned to the task at hand,

with a smile on her face she began to work on

getting the kitchen together. She turned on a

small radio that Hunter left on the counter and

started moving to the music she was reallygetting in to her work, when she heard what

sounded like a small child giggling, it sounded

like it was coming from the small bedroom. A

little shocked she walked slowly towed the

small bedrooms were she thought she heard

the noise, thinking maybe a child had snuck in,

she walked in to the room, but there was no

one there, for a second she began to let her



imagination run away with her. Trying to

rationalize it she thought about the window in

the kitchen being open, and realized that the

people next-door had some toys maybe the

children were just outside. Laughing at her self

she thought, no way am I going to tell Hunter

about this I will never live it down. She started

back to the kitchen to finish her job when the

door bust open, Jennifer jumped as Hunter andhis friends walked in.

” What’s the matter “said Hunter.

Nothing you just surprised me that all.”

She continued working in the kitchen, as

Hunter instructed the guys to take the crib and

the rest of the baby furniture to the small

bedroom. Jennifer let out a small gasp even



though she knew there was nothing to worry

about.



Chapter 2

In The Night

It took two days before everything was

moved in and set up, with everyone coming

and going Jenifer and Hunter didn’t get much

sleep at all. By the third night they were both

drained the furniture was still scattered and

not organized the way Jennifer would have

liked it. She was taking her time after all she

was feeling more like a two ton elephant

bogged down by chains, then an effervescent

pregnant woman.

Jennifer turned off the hall light before

she went to bed. The light bulb flickered before

blowing out. She glanced down the hall as it



was happening and caught the image of a

shadow out of the corner of her eye, it was

small and dark but she was delirious and

exhausted, obviously her eyes were playing

tricks on her. She didn’t dare wake Hunter

with her talk of seeing shadows or images and

how crazy she would sound if she approached

him with the idea. As tired as she was she was

even questioning her own sanity, at themoment.

Well so much for a good night’s sleep.

She slipped in to the bedroom, were Hunter

was sleeping like a baby. Instead of falling

right to sleep she laid in bed listing to the

sounds of the new house, the sounds of the

refrigerator running In the kitchen, and the air

conditioner nonstop, there were a couple of



creeks and thumps , sounds she just had to get

used to. Jennifer closed her eyes and laid there

listing until she finely fell asleep.

She found herself shopping at a large

department store, looking down at her cart she

noticed her baby sitting in the seat, she was

overwhelmed with joy. happily went down

each isle picking out diapers and formula

people would stare at her and her child, at firstthey would smile at her with a friendly hello

and then their faces seamed changed from

friendly to a look of horror , they would run

passed her . Curious as to what people were

looking at she forced herself to look down.

Jennifer‘s heart stopped she was struggling for

breath, the baby in her cart was life less and



limp, and the people surrounding her were no

help.

“Help, my baby I think she’s dead, please

help me.”

She could barely get the words out. The lights

in the store began to dime then flicker she

looked down again instead of seeing her

lifeless baby, she was starring at what looked

like a zombie, its eyes black and hollow, itsface was pale, the skin was taught and

leathery except for a few small patches were

the skin was missing. The child reached out to

her, she stepped back and before she could let

out one last scream she woke up safe in her

bed with Hunter looking over at her.

“What is going on are you ok, I could

hear you whimpering in your sleep.”



“No I have just had a tuff night; I guess I

just need to get use to the new surroundings.

Oh by the way the light in the hall needs to be

replaced, it burned out last night, and then

somehow made its way in to my nightmare.”

Jennifer took a sigh of relief and placed her

hand on her big stomach. She thought to

herself Thank god, it was just a horrible dream

but it felt so real.



Chapter 3

The Big Trip

The following morning Jennifer started

down the stairs to the kitchen to make

breakfast; Hunter followed a short time later

after getting ready to go to work. Hunter

didn’t mind his job he was a web designer, and

most of the time he worked on his own at

home. The only time he had to show up to work

was to explain or teach someone how to use

the web site he designed for them. Hunter’s

job provided for the two of them so Jennifer

had the extravagance of staying home.

However this was the day he had to show a

construction company how to use their new

web site so Hunter was dressed to impress.



By the time he reached the kitchen table

Jennifer had his breakfast waiting for him. He

knew she was something, the day he set eyes

on her. She was always making a big fuss over

him. It always made him smile and his eyes

sparkle to know she would be right by his side.

“Are you ok? If you’re not feeling good I

can cancel and stay home today.”

“No, it was just a bad dream, I feel fine,you can’t stay home every time I have a scary

dream you wouldn’t have any clients. She

refilled his empty mug with fresh coffee.

“Besides Sandy is coming over today to

help me arrange the rest of the house, and we

don’t need you trying to supervise.”

“Oh don’t worry I have no intentions on

supervising, especially since she likes to give



her two cents weather you ask for it or not.

Just call me when she leaves, and good luck.”

Hunter grabbed his cell phone and keys and

tried to get out the door before Sandy arrived,

but, only to meet Sandy at the door as he was

leaving.

Sandy was just about to knock on the

door but stopped just before she hit Hunter in

the face as he was coming out. “Heyhandsome, don’t leave on my account.” Hunter

just looked back at Jennifer and smiled

sarcastically “have fun girls try not to get in to

trouble while I am gone.” Sandy looked him up

and down as he ran to the car then she

shouted out to him “oh don’t worry if we do,

you will be the first we call for bail money. “



Sandy threw her purse and keys on the

counter and leaned over the breakfast bare she

watched as Jennifer packed the dishwasher full

of dirty dishes. Board, Sandy then stood up and

started walking around the kitchen and dining

room her eyes big and blonde ponytail

bouncing side to side.

“Wow, this is some place, so how do you

think you’re going to like family life?” Jennifer turned the dishwasher on she

really didn’t want to answer her because she

knew where the conversation was going. “Well

I know you’re not the type to have children in

your life…” Sandy interrupted “no I just don’t

want my own children, and I didn’t really

imagine that you and Hunter wanted to spoil a

good thing by having children right now



either.” In a last ditch effort to change the

topic Jennifer handed Sandy the window

cleaner, along with a roll of paper towels. “You

can do the windows, and I will dust. Let me

show you to your work station. ““Ok I can take

a hint lead on.” Sandy tossed the towels in the

air a couple of times and followed her upstairs

to the balcony.

While Sandy was cleaning the window,the face of a small girl appeared to her in the

glass. She suddenly stopped wiping the window

and took a good look in disbelieve. What the

hell, no way. Before she could yell for Jennifer,

the child reached out for Sandy and pulled her

in to the glass head first.

Jennifer heard the crash from the kitchen

and rushed upstairs to find Sandy lying half



way between the deck outside and the hallway.

She was covered in blood and glass was

sticking out all over her. Jennifer grabbed the

phone off of the table while looking for

something to stop the bleeding but there was

so much blood she had no idea where to start

her cloths socked up some of it.

“Hold on Sandy help is almost here. Just

hold on.” What was really just a matter of minutes seemed like hours to her before

Jennifer heard the approaching sirens. She

yelled to them as they reached the door “were

up here please hurry, she’s dying.”

The men pushed Jennifer out of the way

as they began working on Sandy. Then another

man walked over to Jennifer to get information,



while the other two loaded Sandy on to the

stretcher.

“Do you know how this happened?”

“No I was down stairs dusting when I

heard the glass break. Is she still alive is she

going to be ok?”

“It doesn’t look good, but we will know

more once we get her to the hospital.”

“Can I go with her?”“Yes, but you need to ride in the front, so

they can work on her.”

The driver tried his best to comfort

Jennifer. As they reached the hospital doors

the staff took over and lead Sandy away while

another staff member took care of Jennifer, She

took her to a privet room where she could get

cleaned up and offered her a phone to Call



Hunter. Jennifer could hardly dial the number,

she was shaking up so badly, but it was such a

comfort to hear his voice on the other line. He

had a consoling influence on her no matter

what the situation was, and as always he came

running when she called. It took him about ten

minutes but he was there to comfort Jenifer.

“How is she?” asked Hunter as he

reached out to hold Jennifer.“I don’t know, no one has come out yet,

and the lady at the desk told me I had to wait

for the doctor.”

“How did it happen?”

“I don’t know one minute I was dusting

off the entertainment center and the next I am

running up stairs to the sound of a loud crash,

she somehow went through the big window.”



“Hey Jenny look at me, I know if anyone

can pull through something like this it’s Sandy,

She is strong.”

“I don’t know, you didn’t see her, She

was covered in blood and she looked so bad.”

“No way is she going to let me have any

peace. She has planes on out living me, just to

make me miserable before I die. Sandy isn’t

going anywhere. “Hunter tried to lighten themood with his attempt at a joke he pulled

Jennifer closer to him.

One of the Staff members came out to

talk to them. “Hi you’re waiting for Sandy,

Swaffer?”

Jennifer tore out of Hunters arms, “yes, is

she ok, is she alive?”



“Well I am not going to lie, she is stable

and the next two days are going to be critical.

The best thing the two of you can do is go

home let her rest.”

“I don’t want to go home; I want to be

here for Sandy when she wakes up.”

“I am sorry but it’s not going to do you

any good to stay here, I will call you if there is

any change in her condition. Let her resttonight.”



Chapter 4

Ghost stories

The next couple of weeks Jenifer

practically lived at the hospital only leaving at

night when visiting hours were over. She was

the first one Sandy saw when she awoke, “oh I

am so happy your alive, I thought I lost you.”

She was interrupted by nurses and doctors

running in, they kind of shoved her aside but

she didn’t care she was just glad to have her

best friend back.

Sandy knew what had happened from

the moment she woke up. She knew what she

saw, but she didn’t want to sound nuts and she

didn’t want to frighten Jennifer out of her new

house. Although Sandy didn’t think Jennifer

should chain herself down with a child she



didn’t want to put stress on her. So when

Jennifer asked her about the accident, Sandy

told her she tripped and hit the glass hard.

After all who would believe some demonic child

pulled her through the glass; she couldn’t even

believe it herself.

While Jennifer was busy at the hospital

with Sandy, Hunter was cleaning the balcony

and fixing the window. His first step was to getthe supplies. So he ran down to the hardware

store to get some paint for the balcony, while

looking over all the choices he ran in to one of

his new neighbors’, Greg. Greg was much older

than Hunter and he has been living in the

subdivision his entire life. Greg finished paying

for his supplies and waited by his car for



Hunter to come out. He stopped Hunter before

he was able to reach his truck.

“Hey how are you?” He walked over to

shake Hunters hand. I m Greg I live three

houses down from you. “

“Oh hi I’m Hunter; it’s nice to meet you.”

“How is your wife? I saw the ambulance

at your house; I just assumed she had the

baby.”“No, Jennifer’s fine, unfortunately a friend

of ours had an accident on the balcony;

apparently she tripped and fell through the

window.”

Greg didn’t act surprised by the news,

“someone should just board that balcony up, if

you ask me, this isn’t the first time something

like this has happened in that house.”



Hunter stood stun for a second, “What do

you mean?”

“Well I don’t know if you are superstitious

or believe in curses but I didn’t until I laid eyes

on that house. I have lived in the subdivision

for a long time, I remember when my best

friend Jimmy Stevens disappeared no one could

find him, one day while I was playing ball with

my sister on the street I happened to look overat the pond, and I saw something I will never

forget, It was a boot sticking out of the weeds, I

knew who’s boot it was, so I ran over to check

it out. Attached to the boot was my friend

jimmy’s leg leading to the other end of his

body face down in the pound.”

Skeptical Hunter asked “why did it take

so long to find Jimmy?”



“Well the house was abandoned for

awhile no one knew why Jimmy was there, but

people like to talk so you will probably hear

many stories surrounding his death it’s a

shame. The bank sent someone to fill in the

pond, they didn’t want another liability on their

hands and they couldn’t get rid of a house with

a history to it. Then after Jimmy’s so called

accident, a family moved in and had the brightidea to have a balcony built on the second

floor, let me tell you, I think your friend lucked

out. “

“You mean there were more accidents

like Sandy’s?”

“If you want to call them accidents, one

of the builders fell off the ladder as he was

building the deck. The strange thing is the



builders on the other side of him heard him say

no before he fell, and some say it looked like

someone was forcing him off the ladder, but

they ruled it an accident.”

“You said there were a couple of

incidents, what else happened?”

“I have to get back soon but I will tell you

about the four year old, because, if you’re

going to have any children in that house, youwatch them carefully. The older couple who

had the house before you stayed there for

awhile, without incident, no accidents no

deaths it seemed the curse was lifted, that is

until they invited their daughter and grandchild

to stay with them over the summer. One

morning the child woke up before everyone

else in the house, according to her mother she



heard the child talking and screaming at

someone that’s when she woke up to see her

little girl running full force in to the window and

off the balcony. I tell you I never believed in

curses but that house is the exception, Hunter

just let me give you some friendly advice, take

your family and move that’s the best thing you

could do for them.”

“ well thanks for the advise I try not tofall victim to curses and so called poltergeist,

or ghost’s , but you are right about that

balcony it is dangerous , do me a favor don’t

say anything to my wife about this , she is

superstitious and she would be paranoid she

would never step foot in the house again. “

Hunter waved his hand again and drove off.



Hunter arrived home with two cans of

paint in his truck he got out and went around

to the other side to get them out. As he opened

the door he heard a voice, it sounded like a

little girl calling for her mother. He shut the

passenger side door and placed the two gallons

of paint on the ground, looking around before

getting the nerve to walk around the property,

and thinking this is crazy since when did I start to believe in ghost stories, perhaps it’s just a

cat or something, this is nuts. Hunter turned

back around to where the paint was he picked

up the paint and made his way towed the door,

giving one last look at the property, before

going in shaking his head and laughing to

himself.



Chapter 5

The new addition

Jenifer offered her guest room to Sandy

while she was recovering, but Sandy gracefully

declined her offer. Instead she made a counter

offer for Jennifer to stay at her place, but

Jennifer was getting closer to her due date, so

she decided to drop by on Sandy daily, instead

of staying with her.

It seemed like everything was back to

normal. Except Jennifer was so tired after

,trying to take care of Sandy, and getting ready

for the baby by night time she found herself

turning in before Hunter. So just like any other

night Jennifer went to bed early, leaving Hunter



in the living room watching some cheesy

movie. As she walked up the stairs she noticed

a change in the tempter she was cold and

could see her breath in front of her, and then

having an uneasy feeling of someone was

behind her following her, but when she turned

around there was no one there.

She took a deep breath before opening

the bedroom door. She shut the door quicklybehind her and got in to bed, finally she drifted

off to sleep when she heard a voice calling to

her “ mom, mom,” it said in a high pitch voice,

slightly opening her eye’s she saw a small girl,

standing beside her bed pulling at her blanket,

“mom, mom.”

The little girl got closer to her face,” I

want you to stay with me, don’t leave me.”



Then the little voice got stronger.” Mom did

you hear me; “the little girl was nose to nose

with Jennifer.

Jennifer opened her eyes to see a small

child starring at her; the child’s eyes were

black and empty. Jennifer screamed, and then

her water broke. Hunter was in the living room

down stairs when he heard the screams, he

leaped up from the chair he was sitting in, andsprinted up to the bedroom, where he found

Jennifer, screaming he had no clue what she

was screaming about but he heard her say

something about her water braking and

assumed that was the problem. Hunter dashed

to the closet to get her overnight bag and then

practically carried her to the car.



Hunter kept calm on the drive to the

hospital, but once he got her checked in and

the hospital staff took over, his mind started to

race. This is it I am going to be a father, will we

be able to do it…. His thoughts were

interrupted by a nurse.

“Are you ok sir? If you’re ready I will take

you to her room.”

“Yes I think I can make it, unless youthink I should stay out here until she has the

baby, I mean when she gets mad I try to stay

clear. I can just imagine what she is going to do

to me now.”

Laughing, the nurse assured him he was

going to be ok and showed him to Jennifer’s

room. He slowly walked in hesitating a little.



He walked closer to her. “What can I do?

Do you need anything?” Just as she was about

to answer him a contraction started , she

grabbed his hand squeezing it hard , the nurse

in the room monerting the machines ran

outside to get the doctors, who came charging

in like they were running to a fire. One doctor

was suggested they perform a c section right

away. Hunters mouth dropped “why what’sgoing on.” The doctor in charge pulled Hunter

aside. “We need to do a cession, the cord is

wrapped around the baby’s neck and if we

don’t do it right away the baby will die. So one

of the nurses will get you ready if you want to

go with her, but we need to go now.” One of

the nurses led Hunter out of the room, while

the staff whisked Jennifer off to surgery.



Chapter 6

It’s complicated

By the time Hunter was finished getting

ready to go in to the room, the doctors had

already prepped Jennifer for the surgery and

started cutting in to her. Hunter walked pass

the doctors trying not to look at the blood, but

he couldn’t help himself his eyes wandered

that way, and although he wasn’t the type to

get queasy at the sight of blood it seemed that

it got the best of him this time. He hurried over

to Jennifer who was groggy but awake, as he

was trying to comfort her, he glanced over to

see one of the nurses grab the baby from the

doctor, another doctor rushed over to the



nurse, and they both looked concern as they

laid the baby on a small steal table. They

started performing what looked like C.P.R.

Hunter stood by in shock afraid to ask what

was going on, and then he got up the courage

to say it. “Is the baby ok? Is the baby alive?”

Jennifer was trying to see what was going on,

but when she looked over she was stunned to

see the same small girl she saw in herbedroom now standing by the table with her

hand over the baby’s chest, then the child

looked over at Jennifer “it’s ok mommy, there

is room in this body for both of us.” The girl

disappeared

Hunter held Jennifer’s hand he looked at

her with sorrow in his eyes. One of the nurses

started yelling we have a heart beat; the



concern on her face was wiped clear with a

smile. “It’s a girl, and I think she is going to be

ok.” The room changed, the dark cloud was

gone, and it was filled with wiped tears and

excitement. “It’s a girl she is going to be fine,

except the fact that she really likes to make an

entrance, she is definitely going to be a star.”

Jennifer lifted her head, “are you sure? I don’t

think that’s my child; there was a girl in hereand….” With that last sentence Jennifer passed

out. The doctor, who had just finished stitching

her up, took off his gloves and pulled Hunter

aside again.

“Jennifer is going to be ok she just needs

some rest, and she may not remember some

things because of the Anastasia. Give us an

hour to run tests on the baby, and then you



can come back to the nursery to see her. By

the way what is her name? “

“Tory, Tory Marie west. “ Hunter replied

sharply his eyes sparkling and his smile bigger

than it had ever been.

“Tory, what a beautiful name. We should

be finished with her shortly.”

“Is she going to be ok now, should I be

worried? ““She looks good we just need to run a

few more tests, but I don’t see any reason to

worry. The doctor walked Hunter out to the

hall and pointed him in the direction of the

waiting room.

It took a whole hour Hunter was going

crazy, every time he would hear the sound of

shoes hitting the floor, or a door open he would



look to see if it was his baby. Down the

hallway he could see a nurse bending over a

small cart, he heard her laughing and giggling,

then she started down the hallway with the

cart as she got closer to Hunter she smiled and

said “ it’s time to see your daddy.” Hunter

stood up from his chair and nervously looked

Tory over “Is it ok to hold her now.”

“Of course this little girl is just fine; shepassed all of the tests. Let’s go in to the

nursery you can rock her and feed her in

there.”

Hunter sat down with Tory in his arms

and started rocking, he looked in to Tory’s

innocent face, This is what makes life worth

living I never thought having a baby would be

such a life change for me. He sat with Tory for



hours just watching her sleep, and the nurses

would check in on them periodically and give

him updates on Jennifer. They were all so

helpful, the last update was the Jennifer was

awake and if he wanted to take the baby in to

see her he could.

“This way Mr. West, I have set up a bed

for you to sleep in so you can stay with them, if

you want to. ““Thank you, yes I plan on staying. How

long do they have to stay?”

“I m not sure, but if everything is going

ok they are usually released within two days,

well this is it she may still be a little groggy

from the drugs.”

“Thank you again for your help.”



Jennifer was trying her best to stay

awake so she could see her baby. Her eyes felt

heavy the more she would try to keep them

open the harder it was, but when Hunter

walked in to the room with their baby in his

arms, she managed to find a way. It was a

moment that neither one would forget,

everything felt right.



Chapter 7

Coming Home

It was a long two days in the hospital,

she was almost glad to be going home. The

only problem with home was the crazy

nightmares, and the strange accident her

friend had. Every time she would talk to sandy

the conversations were always cut short by

Sandy. She was always too busy to talk on the

phone and when they talked face to face it

always left Jennifer feeling uneasy. Never the

less Jennifer was going to go home and start

fresh, she was sure all of the bad dreams were

going to go away, there was no sense in telling

Hunter how she felt. After all she just knew

everything was going to be ok.



For the next couple of week both Jennifer

and Hunter took turns getting up with Tory,

She really wasn’t much work she slept through

the night and basically all she would do is eat

and sleep. Jennifer was healing well and Hunter

suggested she get away for awhile, maybe go

out with Sandy, for a girl’s day out. Jennifer

took him up on that offer; she called Sandy and

talked her in to going out for the day. They decided to have lunch at Jennifer’s

favorite Mexican restaurant; it was well known

for its food. Not only did they serve food in the

dining room but they had a bar with a live band

in the back. Jennifer and Sandy sat in the

dining room, away from the noise in the bar, so

they could catch up.



“Sandy are you made at me or

something? I get the feeling you have been

trying to avoid me. I know you had a long

recovery, and I tried to do all that I could to

help. I am really sorry it happened.”

“ No I am not mad but , I have been

trying not to tell you something, but I would

rather tell you what happened that day, then

have you thinking I am trying to avoid you. “ Jennifer was caught off guard by her

response. “What do you mean what happened

that day? You said you tripped. What

happened?”

Sandy leaned in closer hopping no one

sitting around them could hear her.” ok, I will

tell you but you have to promise not to have

me shipped off the nearest mental ward.”



“I promise, now tell me what is going on

with you!”

“Ok, while I was cleaning the window, I

stepped back for a second to look it over, I

mean my work and, I can’t believe I am telling

you this. There was a child in the glass; she

reached out for me and the next thing I knew I

was laying in the hospital. “

“What”“I knew it; you think I should be carted

off.”

“No, No I don’t, in fact I have had some

strange things happen to me. I have also seen

a little girl, a lot of times she will show up in my

dreams, or so I thought. Now I guess

everything that I saw was real. You want to



know the real scary thing; I thought I saw her

at the hospital too.”

“You mean she followed you there?”

“No worse, she was in the room when

Tory was born, I saw her standing by the table

while the doctors were performing C.P.R. on

her, almost as if she was trying to, finish her

off.”

“I think your family is in some serioustrouble. I have a friend who might be able to

help. I am going to call her and see if she can

meet with us today.”

Jennifer agreed to her Plan. While Sandy

made the call Jennifer ate the last bit of salad

she had left on her plate. Sandy turned back

around to face Jennifer; she said good bye to



Chapter 8

The Medium

They finished the rest of their food and

left. When they pulled up to the house it

wasn’t what Jennifer expected. The yard was

well maintained, it was the opposite of what is

portrayed in the movies. She expected the

yard to be overgrown with weeds, and maybe a

couple of shrunken heads setting on the porch,

but the yard looked like it was done by a

professional. The porch even had a welcome

mat. Jennifer let Sandy in front of her as the

two walked closer to the door, after a few

seconds of standing around not knowing who

was going to answer the door; it opened to



reveal a tall skinny young lady with long red

hair.

Sandy stood in the middle of the two, as

she introduced them to each other, again

Jennifer was surprised the she didn’t have a

name like moon or dream dancer, no she had a

somewhat normal name as well, and it was

Linda. Linda invited them in and led them to

the kitchen table. Once more Jennifer wastaken in by the house; although small it was

nice and well kept.

Sandy began to tell Linda about what

was going on, Linda turned to Jennifer and her

friendly smile turned to a serious look of

concern.

“The house it’s self has a history, filled

with turmoil, many people have lost their lives



in the house, a couple of spirits have remained

behind. They believe they were robbed of time

and one especially wants a second chance, a

young girl named Shania. She has tried a

couple of times to come back in to a body,

each time she has failed. She was able to gain

straight with each person she killed trying to

get in to their body. “

She stopped for a moment to take a sipof her tea, and then she took a deep breath, “

Sandy your accident as you may know was not

just a little girl trying to scare you, she felt you

were a threat to her and she decided she

needed to get rid of you she wanted you dead.

I understand you had reservations about

Jennifer and Hunter’s baby.” Sandy looking

shocked nodded her head in agreement. Well



Shania heard everything you said, and because

she needed the baby’s new body and soul she

didn’t want you to talk Jennifer out of having

the baby, even if that was impossible she

didn’t want to take the chance. “Linda then

turned her attention to Jenifer. “I am sorry I

wish I could tell you something positive, but I

can’t. At the hospital you thought you were

having hallucinations, but in fact it was noillusion, Shania followed you and she was the

one who stopped the baby from breathing in an

attempt to take her soul. “

Jennifer could feel the tears rolling down

her face, it was too emotional and she could no

longer hold her emotions in. “So are you telling

me my baby is dead?” “No Shania was only

able to take part of her soul; your Tory is still



there. Shania could not take the whole soul

Tory was too strong. They are now in a

constant struggle.”

“What should I do?”

“I can call another friend of mine who deals

possessions, we will hold the ceremony at your

home, but your next move before we hold the

ceremony is to get everything out of the house,

and move. Once the ceremony is preformed weneed to leave right away so Shania will stay

trapped in the house, and not your daughter.”

With Linda’s words of wisdom and Sandy

looking at her in agreement, Jennifer shook her

head with approval. “Yes call your friend, I will

look for an apartment tomorrow and I will

somehow talk Hunter in to believing me. “



Linda walked the two out; as she opened

the door for them to leave and warned them

not to wait. “This is something that needs to be

done in the next week, or things are going to

start happening again.



when I heard a man singing in Tory’s room. I

ran up to her room and I saw a figure of a man

standing at her crib; he or it turned to look at

me then disappeared. I don’t care if you

believe me or not, we can’t stay here tonight

and I will send someone to come get our stuff

in a couple of days.”

Jenifer just stood looking at him with her

mouth wide open. She was able to get herbreath to tell him she did believe him and she

thought his decision to leave was a good one.

“There’s more, you need to know. I will tell

you once we get to a hotel room. I’ll grab Tory

and her bag if you take the suit cases. Come

on lets go.”

Hunter wanted to know what was going

on right then but he didn’t want to stay a



minute longer, so with a quick grab at the tree

suit cases he followed Jennifer and Tory out the

door leaving behind all of their possessions and

also the phantasms who resided in what use to

be their home.

After driving around unsuccessfully

looking for a nice hotel to stay at, the two

decided on a rundown motel room at the edge

of town. It wasn’t much but it was a bed forthe night. While Jennifer opened the door

Hunter was not far behind her looking like a

pack mule with Tory in one hand and suitcases

in the other. Hunter dropped the suit cases

and took Tory out of her car seat, trying hard

not to disturb her sleep as he placed her

carefully on the bed. Jennifer turned on the TV

and surprisingly all the cable channels worked.



“Not bad for a low grade motel room.”

She turned to Hunter, who was setting on the

bed watching Tory sleep. She then sat on the

other side of the bed. “Hunter I have to tell you

what happened today, Sandy and I went to see

a friend of hers. Sandy’s friend also happens to

be a psychic. She knows what is going on in

the house and she said that Tory is in danger.”

“Tory is fine now. I will call up somemovers and have them move our stuff so we

don’t need to step foot in that house again.”

“Unfortunately we do need to go back; I

am going to go back with Sandy and her

friend.”

Hunter looking at her like she was crazy

finely responded “why would you do something

like that. Didn’t you hear me tell you I just saw



Chapter 10

Cleaning house

Jennifer and Hunter pulled up to the

house just as the movers were leaving. Sandy

pulled up behind them with Linda and her

friend Leo in the car. As they all piled out of the

car Jennifer noticed Leo holding a large bag. To

Jennifer Leo looked like a long brown haired

wild child of the sixties. She wondered what

she was thinking leaving her family in the

hands of such a man. All of her fears were put

to rest the minute he opened his mouth.

“ Hi Jennifer I know you have some

reservations, but I assure you I will not let

anything happen to you or your family, As soon

as I provoke Shania out of Tory I want you to



grab Tory and run out of the house don’t look

back , just get in to the car and go. “

“Do you really think it will work?”

“ Yes I have done this more times than I can

count normally I don’t have much trouble

removing an unwanted soul , however I must

tell you Shania is strong, but it’s nothing that I

can’t handle. Just let me get set up in the

house before the two of you come in with Tory.“

Leo placed his hand on her shoulder “it’s

going to be ok.” He said as he tried to

reassure her, he seemed to know what he was

doing, and Linda and sandy also seemed to

have faith in Leo. Jennifer got back in the car

with Hunter, who had just finished talking to

Linda.



“I still can’t believe I am doing this, I

guess its true parents will do anything for their

children even face an angry ghost.” Hunter

said as he brushed the hair out of Tory’s eyes.

Jennifer gently caressed his cheek with

her hand “I know I don’t want to do this either

but I don’t want to wake up one day and find

out I have lost my little girl.”

Just as Jennifer leaned in to kiss HunterShe was pulled away by a sandy knocking on

her window. “ Their all set in side, Leo said to

just bring Tory in with the car seat don’t even

bother taking her out, you won’t be hear long,

it will all be over soon. “ Sandy opened the

door for Jennifer as Hunter grabbed Tory out of

the back seat of the car. Leo greeted them at

the door with what looked like an in sense



burner on a string, he surrounded them in

smoke and spoke something as if he was

casting a spell. Jennifer could only make out a

couple of words, protect and family. Leo led

them to a painted circle on the floor he took

Tory and placed her in the middle of it, and

then he told everyone to light a candle and

stand around Tory outside the Circle. He

chanted as he lit each candle with his own.Leo walked inside the circle with Tory as he did

the windows of the house started to rattle,

Jennifer could see faces looking in.

Leo Then held up his candle and shouted

at them “Shania is trying to steal this babies

body just as she has tried to steal your bodies;

she has tried to steal yours and you lost your

lives because of her don’t let her take this child



too.” The faces were now taking human form

and emerging from the windows in to the

house. Leo then focused his attention on Tory,

“By all that is with God I command you to come

out and face those you have killed. A little girl

appeared by Jennifer

“I just want a second chance don’t I

deserve it.”

The dark forms started to get closer to thegroup.

“No shouted Shania, Stay away.”

The shadows formed a ring around Shania she

struggled. Leo yelled to Jennifer and Hunter to

go. Hunter running for the door dodged in for

Tory, Jennifer was right behind him, but before

they could get to the door it locked. “You’re not

going; I am not letting her go” Yelled Shania.



She struggled with the dark shadowy forms.

Linda yelled to Jennifer

“Unlock it she can’t keep struggling with

you and the lost souls.”

Jennifer was able to open the door after

fighting with it. Jenifer and Hunter ran out

tossed Tory in the car and took off, never

looking back. In their minds it was over they

would never come back.Inside the house Linda closed and locked

the door behind them making sure nothing

could get out. She rejoined Leo and Sandy in

the circle. Shania was still struggling with the

shadows, but she looked like she was on the

losing end. The room was filled with dark

shadows swirling around, and the screams

were getting louder.



Just when it looked like Shania was done

she reached out one last time and grabbed

Leo, he fought to stay out of the way of the lost

souls and Shania, but he didn’t have the

straight and Shania took him with her. Leaving

Leo’s lifeless body behind, She had managed

to steal one last soul on her way out.

But it was over Leo did it. As far as Linda

and Sandy knew Shania was gone,Hunter and Jenifer would never have to

worry about Shania again.
