Advertise in Transportation Leader MagazineIn this time of condensed budgets and the need to squeeze the most value out of each advertising dollar, it pays to showcase your products before the people who can actually buy them. Transportation Leader, the quarterly, four-color magazine published by the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (TLPA), gives you the opportunity to do just that. TLPA represents the owners and managers of taxicab, limousine, sedan, airport shuttle, paratransit, Medicaid and non-emergency medical fleets worldwide. Because we represent fleet owners and managers, TLPA and Transportation Leader have a unique audience of high-level decision makers who can buy your product—insurance, software, dispatch systems, sedans, vans, limousines, accessible vehicles, maintenance equipment, fuel, auto parts, vehicle graphics, safety products, accessories and more. Now that is where you want to concentrate your advertising dollars.

Geographic Areas CoveredNearly 97 percent of our readers are in the United States. The remainder are located in Canada, Mexico, and throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and North and South America.

To join as an Associate Member, please call the TLPA office at (301) 984-5700 or log on to www.tlpa.org/Join.

TLPA Membership DirectoryThe TLPA Membership Directory is used by TLPA members throughout the year to contact vendors and TLPA operator members. It is a great opportunity to get your advertisement seen repeatedly over the course of a year! The directory features both color and black & white ads and is printed in August. For further information, please contact the TLPA manager of communications at (301) 984-5700.

DispatchDispatch is TLPA’s bimonthly electronic newsletter sent only to TLPA members. It is sent with the association’s division newsletters— Taxicab, Limousine, and Paratransit. Dispatch offers the opportunity to place classified ads, either at a prepaid discounted price when all issues in a calendar year are contracted for in advance, or at $375 per insertion for a 2" x 3" classified ad or $200 an insertion for a 2" x 1" classified ad. Larger classified ads may contain photos; smaller ads typically contain about 30 words. Nonmembers must prepay their ads in Dispatch.

www.tlpa.orgOur new website is coming soon with new advertising opportunities.

Mailing LabelsTLPA’s mailing list is available for rental at the cost of $125 per 1,000 names. There are over 5,000

transportation companies on the mailing list, so a full list costs approximately $625. Associate Members receive a 15 percent discount off the cost of mailing labels if payment is received within 30 days of the invoice date; non-members must

prepay. The mailing list is available for one-time use only and may not be reproduced in any form. It does not include email addresses or telephone numbers. The minimum quantity order for labels is 1,000; TLPA can accommodate requests for specific states.

For further information, call the TLPA office.

TLPA Spring Conference & Expo and Annual Convention & Trade ShowTLPA holds two annual meetings where vendors can purchase exhibit space and display their products and services. Each spring, TLPA’s Spring Conference & Expo features an Exhibit Center with tabletop and floor displays. With fewer vendors than the Annual Convention & Trade Show, the Spring Conference provides a good opportunity to interact with prospective and current customers in a smaller, more relaxed setting. The 2016 Spring Conference & Expo will be held April 21–24, 2016, in New York, NY. Held each fall, TLPA’s Annual Con vention & Trade Show features over 100 exhibit and vehicle spaces in a larger Exhibit Hall. The trade show will be held November 1–4, 2016, in Phoenix, AZ. For more information on the TLPA meetings, call the TLPA office or visit the tlpa website at www.tlpa.org/Meetings.

TLPA offers many ways to get your message, name and products seen by fleet owners and managers. Other places to advertise include the annual TLPA Membership Directory, the TLPA bimonthly electronic newsletters—Dispatch, Taxicab, Limousine and Paratransit, the Annual Convention & Trade Show Program and on the TLPA website. TLPA’s Spring Conference & Expo and Annual Convention & Trade Show each provide a marketplace for fleet owners to view your quality industry products on exhibit.

across the country and around the world, to address legislators, regulators and industry organizations.I have made a number of trips to Washington D.C., to be on Capitol Hill and Al and Ken threw in a fundraiser in D.C. for senator Vitter for good measure.

I went to Washington to convey to our elected officials how important it is for them to consider the needs of our industry when considering legislation that could possibly help us, or put us out of business, such as the anti-texting legislation, cap & trade energy taxes, the ride act, the new freedom

program, as well as others.I have also traveled to address the Taxicab Paratransit Association of

LIVE in Los Angeles, CA from October 27–31, 2010. With a participant rating of the overall conventionn being 40.7% “Excellent”

and 59.3% “Good” the 92nd Annual Covention & Trade Show was truly a superior industry event.

The convention participants, which included industry leaders and experts, as well as local, national and global operators, vendors, spouses and friends

of TLPA, met for three days of quality programming and networking. Current and emerging issues were discussed in depth allowing for the development of new initiatives and the advancement of current plans. Educational programs

were delivered through 18 Concurrent Roundtables (rated 29.2% “Excellent” and 68.8% “Good”), 15 Concurrent Breakout Sessions (rated 35.4% “Excellent” and 64.6% “Good”), and 3 General Sessions (rated 35.1% “Excellent” and 64.9% “Good”).The Trade Show with its 11 vehicle

member companies to improve their operations, efficiency, cost savings and run more successfully. The Trade Show received an operator rating of 49.1% “Excellent” and 50.9% “Good.”Also the Annual Convention offered a number of unique and exciting networking opportunities. Yellow Cab Co-Op, a daily Shopping Shuttle (Thursday and Friday), the Grand Opening Cocktail Reception of the Convention and Exhibit Hall, the Women In Transportation Dinner

with guest speaker Rita Robinson, General Manager of the L.A. 9. Transportation Leader and/or the TLPA Membership Directory allows a 15 percent commission on gross rates to accredited advertising agencies or TLPA Associate Members that are current and paid-in-full at invoice date. Net due in 30 days of the invoice date, or the advertiser/agency forfeits the commission. If an advertiser’s invoices for previous advertisements in Transportation Leader have not been paid in full, the ad may not run in subsequent issues.

10. Preferred positions requested by the advertiser, such as center spread, opposite contents page, etc., will carry a surcharge as listed under “Fees” on the advertising contract, and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of color signatures, preferred positions cannot be guaranteed to black & white advertisements, although the editor will make every attempt to grant those requests if possible. Requested positions are not guaranteed unless stated as a paid preferred position.

11. All advertising is subject to the publisher’s approval, with the publisher having the right to reject any advertising not in keeping with the publication’s standards. Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for the contents of all advertisements printed, and assume full liability for any and all claims arising therefrom made against the publisher.

12. Advertisements in Transportation Leader and/or the TLPA Membership Directory may not contain any reference to the current TLPA president or his/her company or companies. This includes photos, testimonials, and references to use or support of the advertiser’s product(s) by the president or his/her company/companies.

13. A credit card payment guarantee is required to place advertising in Transportation Leader and/or the TLPA Membership Directory. Unless you specifically request to pay by credit card, you will be invoiced for your advertisement. By signing this contract, you give TLPA the right to charge the credit card if your invoice has not been paid within 45 days of issuance.
