Lance Morris oursales manager with 35 years experience in the business who you will all have spoken to, is still here providing continuity and excellent customer service. We now use DPD for most of our deliveries with 9 9% of goods arriving next day . For time critical orders we c an deliver by 10.00 am and a new tracking facility allows us to notify you (on request) of an hourly estimated time of delivery he lping to keep you informed. User Guide for Polythene bags.

Safety in useOf all the wide range of plastic f lms, polythene (PE) is by far the safest to use. Being chemically inert it does not impart any kind of residue or taste and is impervious to most chemicals, even acids.So they are suitable for every kind of application, all our polythene bags are made from “food safe” quality f lm.

What “duty” to use?Firstly, remember that most polythene is much stronger than you think, and most users choose a heavier bag than they really need. But here is a guide to the duties:

Polythene Bags

Light Duty Bags

These Bags are 100 gauge, for light weights such as wrapping around a new electrical appliance in its box, clothing and small loads such as sweets, cookies and all types of plastic items.

Light Duty This is typically the f lm that is wrapped around a new electrical appliance inside its box. It is glossy and very clear . It has a very poor resistance to sharp corners, edges and because it is so light and “f oppy”, it can be harder to pack with - especially if the item is nearly as big as its bag. Light duty is mostly used as a means of keeping things clean and free of dust.

Medium DutyTwice the thickness of the above. Clarity and gloss are still good but it will cope with sharper corners and edges (though not metal). It is also much easier to pack with as it tends not to collapse as you’re f lling it. Medium duty is mostly used as a means of collating items together in one pack.

Heavy Duty Has 3 jobs; to carry weight, to cope with harder and sharper contents and to provide extra rigidity both when packing and when displayed. Builders use this weight of polythene when packing shingle or sand into 25 kg bags.If you are still in doubt, please ask for a sample by simply emailing: [email protected]

400 gauge suitable for carrying weight and to cope with harder and sharper edges such as nuts and bolts. Builders use this weight of polythene when packing sand or shingle into 25kg bags.

The secret of these re-sealable bags is a simple squeeze together and pull apart top closure that can be used again and again. It is a widely used system for all kinds of application, from police evidence through spares packs to mailing envelopes. These bags are 200 gauge (50 mic) and are much stronger than the more commonly found 160 guage (40 mic) on the market.

The natural development of the Seal Again bag - these bags are printed with a matt white panel to offer easy labelling of the bag’s contents. Use ballpen or pencil.

Designed for all heavy duty applications, this bag is made from

a much thicker f lm than normal bags. These very strong 350 guage (88 mic) grip seal bags are widely used for all kinds of application, especially heavy machine parts and spares. Heavy duty Seal

Polythene Layfl at Tubing

Black layf at tubing in high quality virgin polythene. Only available in 500g to offer high strength and light protection.

The ultimate in strength and abrasion resistance. Ideal for transit packing

of long items which might otherwise get scratched or damaged or the production of bags for export packing.

Our layf at tubing is made from the same f lms as our standard polythene bags. All tubing is treated with “antiblock” for easy opening. Three strengths are available: MEDIUM, HEAVY and ULTRA HEAVY DUTY. Roll lengths are 1000’ for Medium Duty, 500’ for Heavy Duty. Please state duty required when placing your order.

*We are reducing the length of our 48” and 60” rolls to make them lighter (30kg approx) and therefore safer for staff to lift.

Impulse Heat SealersImpulse heat sealers are only hot for the very short weld cycle, a matter of a couple of seconds. This makes them safer and cheaper to use. These sealers are extremely fast and will weld up to 1000g polythene.
