System Planning DepartmentCurrently, Grid Impact Study (GIS) for new generation projectsis the main focus of System Planning Department (SPD). heGIS analy!es the effect of new connection to "#$ Grid toensure satisfactory operation of the "#$ Grid in conformitywith the "#$ Grid Code% re&uirement for additionaltransmission lines, reinforcement in the networ', andre&uirement for the installation of capacitors and reactorsare recommended.
SPD also identifies constraints in the grid that could poseoperational ris' and that reduces efficiency due to outagesin the Integrated "epal Power System (I"PS). SPD alsodeelops transmission configurations for eacuating powerfrom planned generation projects. or this, different technicalstudies such as load flow, short circuit, steady and transientsta*ility are carried out.
$s a part of the preparation of the Corporate DeelopmentPlan +-, SPD prepared "#$/s new 0oad orecast for thene1t + years starting 2 +-+3- incorporating Goernmentof "epal/s macro4economic indicators and "#$/s target newconnection rates. $ short term monthly Capacity and #nergy5alance was also prepared considering the new load forecast,
e1isting projects, projects that are firmly in place forimplementation as well as the scope for import.
SPD also assists other departments of "#$ *y proidingnecessary data and gie suggestions regardingimplementation of planned projects. he department wasalso actiely inoled in the 6IC$ assisted "ationwide 7aster
