Professional Event Manager Certificate

• Do you want to be an event planner?

• The Professional Event Management Certificate (PEMC ), offered by the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences (RPTS) is great for those who want to plan outdoor events such as festivals.

• It takes at least three semesters to complete the PEMC core courses, be aware that RPTS 321 is a spring only course, so plan accordingly!

• The BA in HORT (Floral Design/Event Planning track) is great for those who want to plan indoor events such as weddings.

• It requires a minor, and the minors in Business or Tourism are good fits for this career path.

• There is room in the degree plan to get the PEMC too!

Registration: A Holistic Process

• We are about to identify a “wish list” of courses that would be appropriate for your first semester.

• These courses may be taken at either Blinn or A&M

• Even though TEAM students register separately for each school, think of registration as one process-you will have one scheduling consisting of courses on two campuses.

• After you have your list, the next step is to decide which course will be your A&M course.

• Easy answers:• About which course are you most confident of making an “a”?

• Which courses are you most excited about taking?

• Which course is available?
