Since my arrival here in 2017, our Construction Committee -- Paul Richter, Paul Moscatti, and Paul

Jeanmougin – with the good advices of our Architects Boudreaux -- have been making detailed plans for

the construction of the dreamed of improvements to our PLC -- our Parish Life Center -- what I have

come to call Projects B-1 and B-2:

(12) A new & larger Kitchen, built out over our new patio area, to the North side of our existing

Clearly, we are going to need more Capital Campaign fund raising to get our whole Project B built.

Coincidentally, our Diocese is 200 years old this year of 2019-2020. And, Bishop Guglielmone has

called upon all of our parishes to contribute to our Diocesan Bicentennial Capital Campaign to benefit

both our whole Diocese and each one of our Parishes – each Parish and our Diocese sharing 50/50 on the

amounts raised – up to an individual Parish’s Offertory Collection for 1 year. For Transfiguration Parish,

that translates into our being called upon to raise $253,000 for our Diocese, while we are raising the rest

of our Second Capital Campaign goal of a second $1,500,000 for our Parish. Your one-time pledge to our

Second Capital Campaign for $1,500,000, followed by your one stream of payments on your pledge to

our Second Capital Campaign, will be the source for the payment of the $253,000 to our Diocese.

SO – Our Second Capital Campaign – we hope – will gather in from your donations – A SECOND

$1,500,000 – over the next three years of 2019-2022. Starting NOW:

Our first outreach meeting of our Second Capital Campaign was last week, more to come this week, and

next week, then – more and more contacts – with all of our parishioners – gradually over June, July &

August of 2019.

All of our parishioners will be contacted, either for a personal meeting, or over the telephone, and at least

by mailings.

When you are contacted, PLEASE be open to the information offered to you on the true need for our

Second Capital Campaign – in brief – your NEW donations to our Second Capital Campaign of

$1,500,000 are to be combined with your OLD donations to our First Capital Campaign of $1,100,000

still on hand:

To pay for Project B-1 – $1,366,748,

To donate – $253,000 – to our Diocese of Charleston for our Bicentennial Campaign, and

To start saving up now – more than $900,000 -- for our Project B-2 costs of about $2,900,000.

We will have a Third Capital Campaign later on (2022-2025) to raise the other $2,000,000 that will be

needed to pay for all of Project B-2 – our new 600 seat Church.

With Confidence Derived from the Fact that Already We Have 3 Pledges Totaling $172,000.00!

MONTHLY UPDATE

June 2019

It has been a quite a journey since the start of our 2016 Capital Campaign, and we have made a great deal of

progress. We have a new parking lot, a new handicap entrance, a new driveway, a beautiful sod lawn, and

an irrigation system to maintain it. Best of all we are just a few thousand dollars from reaching our goal of

$1,500,000. We should be very proud of all that we have accomplished in the past three years. But we are

not done yet!

Currently our greatest need is more space for our vibrant and growing parish community. We have one

practical area (our PLC Gathering Space) in which to have Knights of Columbus events, Columbiettes

events and adult Bible studies and prayer meetings. Each of these important ministries is growing in

members and in ministry ideas. But their passion for serving our Lord and each other continues to run up

against the limitations of our campus, and that’s before Lent rolls around and our fish frys begin! Anyone

who has volunteered at our phenomenally successful fish frys quickly realizes that we need a kitchen

designed to handle the volume of food our community is asking for!

Good News!

Your generosity and the hard work of our Construction Team has enabled us to joyfully announce that we

should be able to break ground on Project B-1 of our Parish Life Center expansion before the end of the year

2019. We are extremely excited about the professionally designed, enlarged kitchen and the additional

meeting/classroom/storage areas this new construction will provide us. The existing kitchen area will be

converted to a multi-use meeting/serving area. It will serve as a food service area during our socials and fish

frys and an informal meeting area at other times. It will include a beautiful glass wall looking out on to our

new lawn and the location of our future church (Project B-2). The larger added classroom will easily hold

90 seats for lecture style meetings and retreats or up to 65 seats around our current rectangular tables for

food service or Bible study groups. It can also be divided with portable dividers and turned into two separate

spaces. Our smaller, more intimate meeting room will hold 27 chairs lecture style or 16 at table. Most

exciting for some will be the new storage room. Convenient to both the current Gathering Space and the

new classrooms, it will hold all our current equipment and still only be half full! We’ll also re-roof the PLC

and incorporate a few more improvements and preparations that will pave the way for Project B-2.

Please check out the drawing provided by our architect, The Boudreaux Group, and begin to pray about all

the ways God might be calling you to participate in growing this new space for His glory!
