Stachelberg & Co. Cigar Factory located at 2205 North 20th Street, bordering the recently renovated 21st Street. The move will quadruple the company’s current square footage and will add to the growing number of major corporations such as Ashley Furniture, Masonite and Tampa Electric Company that call Ybor City home. TransferWise worked with local economic development agencies to secure the new space. They plan to bring over 150 jobs to the area where there has been a surge in office space expansions for companies that seek a vibrant and walkable urban district with amenities, restaurants and parking options. With the completion of recent street improvements along Palm Avenue, including the addition of several pedestrian crosswalks and enhanced lighting, businesses will see the perks of relocating to this area.

For example, the 240-unit Bainbridge Ybor City luxury apartments located at 1512 East 12th Avenue will begin leasing upscale studios and 1-2 bedroom apartments in December. Amenities include a South Beach-style pool, community courtyards, 24-hour fitness centers, residents’ lounge and a covered parking garage.

Bainbridge Ybor City is one of many planned residential developments to be located within walking distance of the historic district’s shopping, dining and nightlife. Visit https://liveyborcity.com to learn more.

Playable Urban Interventions Urban Conga Honored For Outstanding Contribution to the Community

The Ybor-based Urban Conga was also honored at The 35th Annual Planning & Design Awards for their playable interactive installations that provide places to play at underutilized and unexpected places throughout Downtown Tampa and Ybor City. The Urban Conga recently unveiled a permanent domino table in Centennial Park.
