Project Narrative The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) owns and operates the Southwest Pollution Control Plant located at 8200 Enterprise Avenue in Philadelphia. The project is intended to improve the Preliminary Treatment Facility with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil site improvements. The project consists of the following:

Electrical, sanitary, and plant water utility relocations Demolishing curbing and sidewalk Erecting the East Dumpster Bay building addition to the Preliminary Treatment Facility Installing a reinforced concrete driveway, bollards, and curb features Regrading of the site Preliminary Treatment Building façade repair

RECORDS SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE OWNER AND ENGINEER WEEKLY FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROGRESS MONITORING AND APPROVAL OF SIMILAR CONDITIONS DISCOVERED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN THE FIELD.

7. ENGAGE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR EACH PRODUCT TO BE UTILIZED PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK TO EVALUATE FIELD CONDITIONS AND MAKE PROJECT SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS. POWERWASH AND PROVIDE CLEAN AND SOUND SURFACE FREE OF DIRT, DUST, OIL, GREASE, EFFLORESCENCE OR EXISTING COATINGS FROM CONCRETE BY STEAM CLEANING, WATERBLASTING OR SLIGHTLY SANDBLASTING. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR TO ANY SIDEWALKS, LAWN, TREES, PAVING, AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS DISTURBED OR DAMAGED BY CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES PROPOSED HEREIN.
