With the rapid advances in generator control and the increasingly sophisticated communication between engines themselves, it has become more necessary than ever for operators and service personnel to receive hands-on training.

Without the correct training, you run the risk of not fully utilising the features offered in your generator controllers. So, DEIF USA now offers three different training levels – from basic operator level to advanced designer level.

THREE LEVELSOF TRAINING

Attending all three levels of training will give you an in-depth gradual learning scale that will enable you to fully master the sophisticated features of our generator controllers.

Learning by doing – on simulation and emulation equipmentAll training sessions are carried out in small intimate groups. This allows for flexibility and a great deal of hands-on time where you can use our simulation equipment in a clean, hazard-free and controlled environment. We can simulate a wide range of fault conditions without risking damage to your plant.

Training levelsFind the level that fits your needs

Level1

Purpose► This one-day training course is for engine and genset operators. who require basic knowledge in order to carry out the

daily routine operations.

Contents► You will learn the basic menu functions of the genset controller and become acquainted with the menu structure► After reviewing basic controller concepts, you will be given the opportunity for practical, hands-on experience involving

start/stop of both single and multiple generators utilising our simulator equipment.

Operator

Level2 Service

Purpose► This training course is for service technicians and engineers who commission and troubleshoot genset operations.

Contents► You will learn how to use the different configuration inputs, modes of operation and how to change protection settings.► You will learn how to use the controller and obtain in-depth knowledge of the functionalities it offers.► This course will involve practical tasks related to the basics from the level 1 course. Next, you will be instructed how to

access the menus from the front panel display screen to activate, commission and troubleshoot typical applications. Input from you on your typical applications further build these skills.

► You will learn how to connect the utility software and configure I/Os, parameter settings, and additional operator panels (AOP). This will also involve tuning of PIDs, synchronisation and using the utility software as a troubleshooting tool.

Level3 Designers

Purpose► This training course is for designers who require detailed knowledge of the DEIF controller’s capabilities. The designer will

learn which options of the controller to integrate into an application and how to design a switchboard for DEIF controllers.

Contents► This course will involve practical tasks related to the basics from the level 1 and 2 course ► You will be provided with an overview of the DEIF product portfolio. Through application notes you will learn which product

will be the best solution for typical applications.

Efficient rental powerUsing DEIF’s AGC 200 genset controllers extensively in their rental genset fleet, several Doosan Portable Power employees ranging from Engineering Managers to Technicians have participated in three-day training sessions at DEIF Inc. in Colorado, USA.

Covering everything from genset control basics to advanced parameter settings, the training sessions were a mix of classroom presentations and hands-on time on DEIF’s full-scale simulation equipment. The equipment offers a clean, hazard-free and controlled environment simulating a wide range of fault conditions without risking damage to real plants.

To supplement the successful office training, Doosan Portable Power has decided to also book an onsite training session to ensure that everyone fully masters the sophisticated features of our generator controllers.
