Introduction to electronic data interchange and its data formats

In this course you will get an overview of the most common EDI data formats for electronic data interchange, such as UN/EDIFACT, GS1 EANCOM®, Flatfile, SAP IDoc. In addition to the EDIFACT standard, which is developed and maintained internationally and is industry-independent, there are a number of other EDI standards that are based on EDIFACT. In addition, proprietary formats such as VDA or Tradacoms are discussed. The course also provides an introduction to the principles and structure of these eBusiness Standards and highlights the similarities and differences.

UN/EDIFACT, SAP IDoc, VDA, Tradacoms, ASC X12, CSV, Flatfile, GS1 XML, SEPA XML, ISO20022 XML

Course objectives

After attending the course, participants will be able to understand and classify data formats. They know important eBusiness Standards and their characteristics. They know how to handle the formats and how to read them with which tools.
