Dear Friends of Young Children: Children’s Home + Aid Child Care Resource + Referral Program has many services to help you in your journey of being a quality provider who offers the BEST to children and families. The work of Early Childhood Education is constantly evolving and so are the needs of our providers! With the constant updates of the new IDHS training requirements, for those providers receiving CCAP we have restructured the calendar to best suits your needs. You will find an insert located within this calendar to provide easy access to the required IDHS/CCAP Trainings. The trainings are categorized by Regional Trainings. We offer many face-to-face opportunities to complete the IDHS/CCAP trainings. Training Calendar
CCR+R training policies
The following training policies apply to all Children’s Home + Aid Child Care Resource + Referral Program sponsored workshops
and conferences:
A. Registration
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
A registration form with payment (check, money order, or cash) must be received in advance by the CCR+R
Staff person to confirm your participation in any training or conference opportunities. No telephone or fax
registrations will be accepted for a registration with a fee.
Registration payment is non-refundable once registration has been processed.
The Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program reserves the right to cancel a training due to low registration. If
training is cancelled and not rescheduled your registration fee will be refunded in the form of a credit.
Children’s Home + Aid must have minimum of 10 participants registered to hold training.
Due to the high interest of certain trainings, the Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program may need to limit the
number of participants from a child care program to 3 individuals per program.
If you are unable to attend a training you have registered for, please contact our office to cancel at, 1-800
467-9200, ext. 104. If the cancellation is placed 7 or more days prior to the scheduled date, registration fee will
be refunded in the form of a credit.
A postcard will be sent to you by the Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program to confirm your registration.
Participants will be called if a training they are registering for is full. If training must be rescheduled,
canceled, or moved, participants will receive an automated phone call and e-mail notifying them of the change.
All registered participants will receive an automated “reminder call” prior to the training they registered for.
B. Training Participant
Late Arrivals- A fifteen (15) minute Grace period will be given at all training sessions. This grace period ends
15 minutes after at the advertised start time. Participants will not be allowed into the training after the 15-
minute grace period has ended.
Early departures- To receive a training certificate, participants must stay until the trainer is finished.
Walk-in participants are allowed to enroll in training, with the required fee, if the maximum number of
participants has not been met. Walk-in participants will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
NOTE: If the maximum number of participants has been met through mail registrations and all participants have
not arrived, the walk-in registrants may participate in the training until the 15-minute grace period has passed.
At the end of the grace period, if there is a no-show participant, the walk-in may pay and take the no-show
participants place.
Pre-registration fees are non-refundable for no-show registrants. Registrants will not be charged or billed
additional fees for non-attendance after the training has occurred. Participants who are a no show may register,
as long as they follow other training policies and procedures, will not be denied access to future trainings.
In fairness to all participants, children and/or unpaid guests may not attend any training.
It is prohibited for participants to solicit materials or services at any Children’s Home + Aid event.
C. Certificates and DTP Transcripts
Replacement certificates must be issued at the request of an individual participant. Certificates are only to
be released to the individual who participated at the training.
Participants who need a transcript of past trainings will be directed to access their Gateways to Opportunity
Professional Development Record.

The training helps increase the knowledge and comfort level of participants to enhance their ability to care for young children with disabilities in early childhood environments. The We Choose Health training series offers child care providers instruction in using The Nutrition and Physical Activity

What is childhood trauma and how can it affect a child’s development and behavior? What are signs to help identify
trauma experiences and strategies to provide support to both the child and their family? These topics will be explored

In this training, participants will learn about the complexities of culture and how culture influences interactions with
families and others. Each participant will learn about their own cultural competence, and have the opportunity to develop
skills and strategies to increase their competence in interacting with others. Strategies supporting linguistic competency
will also be introduced.

June 23 & 30 | Creative Curriculum for Infant, Toddlers & Twos | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This hands-on session guides teachers and caregivers through every component of the expanded Creative Curriculum for
Infants, Toddlers & Twos, and a research-based, comprehensive curriculum that focuses on building warm, nurturing
relationships with the youngest learners and intentionally promoting their development and learning in all areas.
Participants first explore the three curriculum volumes to plan and implement meaningful routines and intentional
experiences for all the children in a language-rich environment. To strengthen assessment skills, teachers will use Volume
3: Objectives for Develop & Learning, Birth through Third Grade to practice documenting their observations of young
children and to plan for and scaffold their learning. MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS.

Illinois is committed to assisting child care providers in providing quality education and care for young children (birth
through 12 years). One way to do that is with the Quality Improvement (QI) Funds. The QI Funds have been developed
and are offered through the child care resource and referral agencies to assist and support programs that are choosing
to work towards / maintain an ExceleRate™ IL Circle of Quality. Children’s Home + Aid Child Care Resource + Referral

Based on available funding, Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program is offering funds to assist individual pursuit of
professional development in early care and education and school-age care. Funds are provided by the Illinois
Department of Human Services (IDHS).
Individual registration fees associated with conferences/workshops not required by ExceleRate Illinois.
The conference/workshop must be off-site from your place of employment and must be related to early care and education, school-age care or child care administration/management
