CCR+R training policies

The following training policies apply to all Children’s Home + Aid Child Care Resource + Referral Program sponsored workshops

and conferences:

A. Registration

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis.

A registration form with payment (check, money order, or cash) must be received in advance by the CCR+R

Staff person to confirm your participation in any training or conference opportunities. No telephone or fax

registrations will be accepted for a registration with a fee.

Registration payment is non-refundable once registration has been processed.

The Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program reserves the right to cancel a training due to low registration. If

training is cancelled and not rescheduled your registration fee will be refunded in the form of a credit.

Children’s Home + Aid must have minimum of 10 participants registered to hold training.

Due to the high interest of certain trainings, the Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program may need to limit the

number of participants from a child care program to 3 individuals per program.

If you are unable to attend a training you have registered for, please contact our office to cancel at, 1-800

467-9200, ext. 104. If the cancellation is placed 7 or more days prior to the scheduled date, registration fee will

be refunded in the form of a credit.

A postcard will be sent to you by the Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program to confirm your registration.

Participants will be called if a training they are registering for is full. If training must be rescheduled,

canceled, or moved, participants will receive an automated phone call and e-mail notifying them of the change.

All registered participants will receive an automated “reminder call” prior to the training they registered for.

B. Training Participant

Late Arrivals- A fifteen (15) minute Grace period will be given at all training sessions. This grace period ends

15 minutes after at the advertised start time. Participants will not be allowed into the training after the 15-

minute grace period has ended.

Early departures- To receive a training certificate, participants must stay until the trainer is finished.

Walk-in participants are allowed to enroll in training, with the required fee, if the maximum number of

participants has not been met. Walk-in participants will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

NOTE: If the maximum number of participants has been met through mail registrations and all participants have

not arrived, the walk-in registrants may participate in the training until the 15-minute grace period has passed.

At the end of the grace period, if there is a no-show participant, the walk-in may pay and take the no-show

participants place.

Pre-registration fees are non-refundable for no-show registrants. Registrants will not be charged or billed

additional fees for non-attendance after the training has occurred. Participants who are a no show may register,

as long as they follow other training policies and procedures, will not be denied access to future trainings.

In fairness to all participants, children and/or unpaid guests may not attend any training.

It is prohibited for participants to solicit materials or services at any Children’s Home + Aid event.

C. Certificates and DTP Transcripts

Replacement certificates must be issued at the request of an individual participant. Certificates are only to

be released to the individual who participated at the training.

Participants who need a transcript of past trainings will be directed to access their Gateways to Opportunity

Professional Development Record.

Every effort is always made to ensure quality presenters. Any statement, fact or opinion expressed by the presenters are their

own and do not necessarily reflect the philosophy or viewpoint of the Children’s Home + Aid CCR+R Program.

Interested in a calmer learning environment filled with supported, engaged children? Learn more about the relationship

between challenging behavior and social emotional development in young children and the role of your own attitude

about challenging behavior. Gather tips and tricks on building important relationships with children, families, and

coworkers as well as, designing an effective preschool environment. Need help with transitions? Learn more about

developing consistent schedules and routines to assist in structuring transitions. Finally, guidance is provided for use of

This training provides information on caring for children with special needs in typical child care settings. The training helps increase the knowledge and comfort level of participants to enhance their ability to care for young children with disabilities in early childhood environments. Adaptations and modifications that will assist all children to participate in activities will be discussed. This meets the DCFS requirement for early childhood providers in special care inclusion training. We will explore the sensory systems, reflect on our own sensory needs, and learn how children’s behaviors can provide us

with information about their sensory needs. Looking specifically at sensory, we will discuss how to identify possible

This training will provide educators with knowledge and skills to help them plan activities within the classroom centers

that enhances children to learn and become engaged in using STEM skills. Participants will learn how STEM was developed

to their classrooms and begin implementing. Participants will also be working in small groups during this training to

overcome their fear of science, math, and technology.

The We Choose Health training series offers child care providers instruction in using The Nutrition and Physical Activity

Self-Assessment Child Care (NAP SACC) assessment tool to inform and implement program improvement in child care

settings. The NAP SACC program is a research-tested intervention designed to enhance policies, practices and

environments in child care improving: Nutritional quality of food served, amount and quality of physical activity, staff-

child interactions, facility nutrition and physical activity policies and practices, and related environmental characteristics.

This hands-on session guides teachers and caregivers through every component of the expanded Creative Curriculum for

Infants, Toddlers & Twos, and a research-based, comprehensive curriculum that focuses on building warm, nurturing

relationships with the youngest learners and intentionally promoting their development and learning in all areas.

Participants first explore the three curriculum volumes to plan and implement meaningful routines and intentional

experiences for all the children in a language-rich environment. To strengthen assessment skills, teachers will use Volume

3: Objectives for Develop & Learning, Birth through Third Grade to practice documenting their observations of young

children and to plan for and scaffold their learning. MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS.

Illinois is committed to assisting child care providers in providing quality education and care for young children (birth

through 12 years). One way to do that is with the Quality Improvement (QI) Funds. The QI Funds have been developed

and are offered through the child care resource and referral agencies to assist and support programs that are choosing

to work towards / maintain an ExceleRate™ IL Circle of Quality. Children’s Home + Aid Child Care Resource + Referral
