1.0 Introduction 1.1 Background This project is intended to generate an automatic watering control system. Moreover, this project designed to alleviate manual watering and to control the time and water consumption. Generally, this project relates to a sprinkling system based on the ground moisture sensors. More particularly, this project is build to control a system which is periodic, the water sprinkle is enable or disable by the ground moisture sensors. In addition, the system is controlled by a moisture sensors that will be used to control the spin valve solenoid. This project apply the concept-based operating mechanical and electronic. The circuit can be used to control the opening and closing of a solenoid valve which can be activated by using the ground moisture sensors. The solenoid movement guided by the movement of currents in the relay. The project will come with a power supply of battery power to function when the soil is dry. The designed system is employed by controlling the moisture

1.0 Introduction

1.1 Background

Generally, this project relates to a sprinkling system based on the ground moisture sensors. More

particularly, this project is build to control a system which is periodic, the water sprinkle is

The designed system is employed by controlling the moisture in the soil. The system uses a

ground moisture sensors as the main medium in controlling the quantity of sprinkling. Besides,

the ground moisture sensors have been employed to inhibit water sprinkle when the ground level

of moisture is already at or above an assigned value. So, the automatic watering control system

can be accomplished efficiently without inherent problem or overwatering. For example, the

automatic watering control system will work for a few minutes in a day from 6 am to 6 pm. This

project will result an easy and more efficient system that has a minimal cost.

Besides using the ground moisture sensors, this project also used an electronic and mechanical

functions. Among the components involved in this project is the use of a simple piping system.

While electronic system are concerned with systems and components work. The components that

involved is solenoid valves. Solenoid valves are used in the process of opening and closing the

water valve. All components are combined to generate an automatic sprinkling control system

project.

There are several of pros and cons that we can identify in this automatic watering control

system. One of the pros is it can reduce usage of man power besides save some of gold which is

time. Futhermore, this system is create in order to save lot of water and money since this system

is using moisture sensor that can be on or off automatically and will turn on and sprinkle water if

the level of moisture is not reach the value that was set. Besides, it also can replace the old

method of watering plant with modern technology of automatic watering control system. While

for the cons is the uncontrollable mother nature that can occur anytime such as heavy rain which

can effect the growth of plant since plant can absorb several of water in a time. Besides, insects

pest also can be the major problem when growing plants since it can breed rapidly.

1.2 Objective

This document proposes a project about "The effectiveness of automatic watering control

system with ground moisture sensors towards agriculture sector". The goal of this project is to

show that the usage of automatic watering control system is green environment and provide ease

to the users. The reason farm is chosen for this project is because it involve a place that need lot

of work which using plenty of water source. Besides, farm can represents a place that can be

included in agriculture sector. The proposed project will be discussed and experiment the

effectiveness of proposed solution towards the productivity of plants.

1.3 Scope

This project is devoted to the production of Malaysia society at large and to those whom

involved in agriculture sector in particular. The project was created with a simple operation

system and does not require a lot of labor. It also comes in a smaller form of factor and it does

not require lot of space. In addition, the use of PCB circuits can save a lot of costs because it

does not require a lot of components.

1.4 Organization

This project that we create is to study the Effectiveness of Automatic Watering Control System

with Ground Moisture Sensors, that we want to give contribution in agriculture sector. So that to

realize it, we have to compare our system which the old system. Firstly we have to use a 2 farm

with 2 system which is Watering Control System that usely use and Automatic Watering Control

System with addition Ground Moisture Sensors as manipulated variable. Next, we will take the

data of amount of water that use in both farm and record it. Finally, we will analyse the data and

make a conclution which system will be the best way to give advantage and more effective to use

in agriculture sector.
