pumpkin pie

Pumpkin pie is a type of sweet banitsa with filling made of

grated pumpkin, sugar and walnuts.

It is prepared by dough sheets which are sold in stores in

Bulgaria. Dough sheets are rolled out and dried thin sheets of

dough. If you can not purchase them, you can use a similar

product or roll sheets out yourself.

The filling is prepared by grated pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and

fine crushed walnuts. Pumpkin pie is made in separate parts

(rolls), which are then arranged in a round tray in the shape of a

spiral.

After baking, the pumpkin pie is served as a desert or breakfast.

This type of banitsa is prepared most often during the

Christmas holidays and in the winter months.

500 g ready dough sheets for banitsa, 800 g pumpkin, 200 g sugar,

150 g walnuts, 100 ml sunflower oil, cinnamon.

1.Spread the rolled out dough

sheets.

2.Grate the pumpkin and mix it

with the sugar.

3.Add cinnamon.

4.Finally add the walnuts and stir

the mixture.

5.Smear the sheet with some oil.

6.Spread the rest of the filling

evenly all over the sheet.

7.Roll the sheet.

8.Arrange the ready rolls in a tray

in the shape of a spiral.

9.Bake the pumpkin pie in an

oven until the crust becomes

golden in color.

After baking, the pumpkin pie must be left to cool down and then

it can be cut into pieces and dusted with powder sugar.

It can be served with yogurt.
