The Southwest Men’s Chorus kicked off their Christmas concert series, with a performance at Tracy Lutheran Church Thursday. The hour-long concert, “O Holy Night,” was the featured entertainment for a Minnwest Bank “Prime Timers” dinner attended by 145 people. A concert scheduled at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie Saturday night was postponed until Dec. 8 because of a snowstorm. But concerts in Lamberton, Springfield, and Lucan were held Sunday through Tuesday. The 22-voice chorus, directed by Wendy Johnson, received a standing ovation at the conclusion of its Tracy Lutheran performance.

Ivanhoe Times—A decision about a proposed daycare being located at Lincoln Elementary School will be made soon. It is estimated that the daycare would have $5,400 in monthly operating expenses and $5,700 in revenues, based on an 80% capacity of eight full-time children, six part-time, and 25 hours of drop in care.

Some parents are opposed to the change.

Minneota Mascot—Fighting to keep the Countryside Golf Course operating has become challenging. A board member reported that despite membership growth, 2018 has been the most difficult for the golf course since the early 1960s.
