TR-550 Time Recorder is designed for facility access controls , attendancelogging , employee time record tracking and job management and otherapplications.This device utilizes RFID cards or magnetic or barcode card for eachauthorized user seeking access to the facility.
Validates and stores the personal number read from the magnetic card orRFID card or barcode card of the accessing card holder.
Machine ID Address number can be set. Factory preset is "000".
Built-in Modem version is also available.
Can be connected with serial printer directly.
Allows 32 time table for alarm. The longest alarm-on duration is 60 seconds.
Provides RS-232 communication interfaces of remote command programmingand data collection. RS-485 interface is optional.
Up to 255 devices can be connected via RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces.
Magnetic card technology provides reliable and positive identification , yetvery low production cost and repeated usages.
Contain 512 K bytes memory buffer , store up to twenty thousands of recordsfor 10 digits of ID-code.
Provides eight (8) selectable function keys.
Provides drive port for external alarm buzzer connections.
Audio feedback to indicate correct or erroneous card input.
Baud rate are able to be changed if necessary.

EVENT FUNCTION KEYSEach of the 8 function keys can be defined to represent a certain eventfunction , e.g., check-in , check-out , overtime , break time , etc … .When activated , the device will store the specific event function code inconjunction with the individual ID code whose card is just being read.
LED FUNCTION INDICATORSIndicating the status of the specific function key, If ON' the function isactive.
CARD READERFollow the graphic for correct card orientation and swipe the cardthrough the entire length of the slot for the magnetic card version andbarcode version, or take the RFID card close to here to read.

When powering TR550, it will self test the SRAMinside the unit. The display will blink this message"SrAM" and beeps if the SRAM is abnormal.
The display will blink this message "FULL" and beepswhen the record data memory is full.
Each record data will be kept into the flash Memoryafter each card reading. If the data can not be keptinto the flash Memory after each card reading, thedisplay will blink this message "FMEM" and beeps.
The display will show "Err" when reading card in error.
At Information mode, it will display the informationyou select to ask. For example, it displays "C103","C1" means this unit is with built-in modem and "03"means the current baud rate is 2400 bps. Please referto the section "Information Mode" for more details.
At information mode, it displays "A005" for example,this means the ID address of this unit isADDRESS=005.
RECORD WILL BE FULLWhen the memory space is about to be full, the"READY" LED will start blinking.

1. Make sure the type of your external alarm bell, N.C. or N.O. type and then connect to the ALARM port on TR-550.2. Make sure the RESET SWITCH must be put at OFF position.
1. Use the power adaptor APR-1014 (for AC 120V) or APR-1015A (for AC 230V).2. Pulg the DC12V into the DC JACK of TR-550.3. Power on TR-550, the unit will make self-test, all
LED's will blink 3 times and buzzer beeps 3 sounds.4. After self-test is successful, the VFD will display time and the READY LED will turn on to be ready for reading a card.
1. When pushing a key button, the corresponding LED will turn on and buzzer beeps.2. If you have set Event Function Time Table, you may also push the key button, but the event function key will get back to the corresponding position preset by the time table after reading a card or in 5 seconds without reading a card.3. The READY LED will go out momentarily when reading a card. The buzzer will beep once and the
READY LED will reappear and the VFD will display the last 4 digits of the card number after reading a card successfully.4. If reading a card in error, the buzzer will beep 2 sounds and the VFD will display "Err".

1. This is an optional feature that TR-550 can also connect with Radio Modem RDL401 (optional item) which can communicate with the computer at about 100 meters without cable installation. Just put one each RDL401 Radio Modem on both the TR-550 end and the computer end.

This is also an optional feature that TR-550 candirectly connect with an RS-232 interface serialPrinter to print out the data.1. You should use a proper serial printer with RS-232 interface and make the connection with TR-550 properly --- connect to TR-550 HOST JACK. See detailled connection at paragraph "Connections " --- Printer.2. Set Printer baud rate to be the same as TR-550 and set printer parameters to be None Parity, 8 Data Bits, 1 Stop Bit and Hardware Flow Control.3. See next paragraph for more information

Simultaneously press both keys to stop printing the above Step 1 or Step 2 function during printing.
1. You can make multi-unit connection through RS- 232 port (up to 50 meters maximum) or RS-485 port (up to 1000 meters maximum), and up to 255 units maximum.2. See detailled connection at paragraph "Connection of Multiple Units" --- PC Connect.

1. Installing the Demo Software1. Use the enclosed DISK5039 CD-ROM to put into the CD-ROM drive disk of your computer.2. The setup program will automatically start software installation at WIN98.3. Please follow the instruction on the screen, step by step to install the software.
1. Run "TR550" Demo Software.2. The screen will display the Password Input dialog box.3. At the first time, input the preset default password "0000" and then click OK.4. After password input is correct, it will show the
Main Menu TR550-Express.4. At "Settings" dialog box, you may select "New Password" to change password if you wish.
1. At "Settings" dialog box, first of all, you must select the COM port through which you connect TR-550 to the computer, such as "COM1" and select "Use RS-485" if you are connecting RS-485.2. Make sure TR-550 has been connected to the computer properly and turn it on, then click "AutoScan" to get hand-shaking with TR-550.3. After the hand-shaking between TR-550 and the Computer is successful, all the features at "Setting" dialog box will become active. But the "Dial" feature will not be active until Phone Number is input.
The default Baud Rate of the version with built-inModem is 2400 bps, without Modem is 9600 bps. Youmay change Baud Rate as below: a. Click at Baud Rate box to select 2400, 4800, 9600 or 19200 bps. b. Click "AutoScan" to set the new Baud Rate to TR-550. During scanning, "Status" will change momentarily. After Bate Rate setting is successful, the "status" will show "Successful".4. Click "SET ID" to set new Machine Address ID number ( Default : 000 ) from 001 to 255.
Before you set ID for the next unit, you must"Add" the new ID number onto the "Device List" and"Device Name" at "Settings" dialog box.a. Click "Add" to add the new ID number onto the "Device List" or click "Delete" to delete the ID number from the "Device List".b. You can change the "Device Name" for the unit at the "Device Name" box.

5. Click "SET TIME" to set Date/Time to TR-550. The screen will show "Setting Date & Time" dialog box.
a. Click to select Month/Year.b. Directly click the Day on the screen calendar to
select Date. c. Click to select Hour/Minute/Second. d. Then click OK to set Date & Time to TR-550. e. If you want just to use the Date & Time of your computer for setting to TR-550, at "Setting Date & Time" dialog box, just click "Reset" and "OK".6. At "Settings" dialog box, click "Reset" to reset the TR-550. This will reset the Machine Address ID number of TR-550 to become default : 000, other keep no change.7. Click "New Password" to Change Password .

At "Manual Mode", you should press Event Function keys on the unit manually.4. At "Use Time Table" mode, you should establish a time table to download to TR-550. Then the Event Function Keys will be controlled by the preset time table. You may set maximum 8 event time. a. "Upload" means Get the existing Time Table from TR-550. b. "Download" means Set time Table to TR-550. After you have established a time table, you should click this "Download" to set the time table to TR-550. c. "Load" means Load Time Table from File saved previously. You may edit this old file. d. "Save" means Save Time Table to File for future use.
5. Ring Table1. Click "Ring Table" to enter "Ring Table" dialog box.2. At "Ring Table" you may establish maximum 32 alarm time to activate the ALARM Drive for turning on the external alarm bell. a. "Upload" means Get the existing Ring Table from TR-550. b. "Download" means Download the the Ring Table to TR-550. After you have established a ring table, you should click this "Download" to set the ring table to TR-550. c. "Load" means Read Ring Table from the File saved previously and you may edit this old file to make what you want. d. "Save" means Save Ring Table to File for future use.

1. Click "Record" to enter "Record" dialog box.2. Click "Upload" to upload the records from TR-550.3. You may select the item(Card NO., On duty, Date or Time) you want and use "Ascending" or "Descending" to arrange the records in order before "save record to file".4. Click "Save" to save the records to the file. The records will disapper from the display after "Save record to file" is complete and the record data will be cleared from TR-550 memory buffer.5. Click "Load" to open the file saved previously.
1. Built-in Modem Version can be a remote unit which can be polled and accessed by the Main Computer through the normal telephoneline with modem.2. Use the enclosed phone cable to connect TR-550 to the telephone line--plug one end of the phone cable into the MODEM jack on TR-550 and plug another end of the phone cable into the telephone line jack.3. At Main Computer side, the computer must be connected with a regular modem which is connected to the normal telephone line. a. Run the TR-550 Demo Software . b. At "Settings" dialog box, 1.) You must select the ID number of the Remote unit from the "Device List" which you want to poll and access.If no Remote unit ID number on the "Device List", you must add it. 2.) Enter the "Phone Number" on which the Remote unit is connected. 3.) Select the COM port on which you connect the regular modem with the Computer. 4.) The "Dial" icon button should be activated after Phone Number is input.Click "Dial" to dial the Remote unit. The "Status" will show "Connect" or "LOGIN" after the connection is successful, otherwise it will show "BUSY" or "NO CARRIER".Note: The baud Rate of the Remote unit,which is with built-in Modem,must be set to 2400 bps.

A function of card validation is provided by setting theprefix of card number. The reader will check the cardsread and only accept and record the cards matchingto the pre-set prefix.1. Click "Other Options" to set the prefix table.2. Click "Primary" and “Secondary” to set the required checking code. You can set up to 31 groups of Secondary code.
Note : “Primary” means to check the first 2 digits of card number.
“Secondary” means to check the 3th and 4th digit of card number.3. Click “Download” to set the prefix table to TR550.4. Click “Upload” to get the existing prefix table from TR550.
