What are TQCSI Competencies?
• TQCSI has established competencies for all staff – executive, staff, auditors, CAP & AEP
• for auditors - records of the audit process & auditor assessment process, verifying an auditor’s ability
• specific competencies identified by TQCSI for auditor status and program(s).

What Are They Based On?
Based on 17021 requirements, including:
• competence of personnel (7.1)
• audit plan (9.1.2)
• identifying and recording audit findings (9.1.9.6)
• audit process requirements (9.1-9.9)
• audit report requirements (9.1.10).

Objective
•TQCSI and auditors to be able to prove auditor competence for their auditor status & program(s)
• process in place to justify an increase in auditor status &/or program(s).

Why Now?
• competency requirements greater with ISO 17021:2011
• competency evidence identified as insufficient in some areas at last JAS-ANZ audit
• competency criteria for all staff developed by TQCSI, including certification staff and auditors

Monitoring Competencies

• bi-monthly competency status sent to each auditor
• reference to document reviewed in Nuts (eg 1213/08)
• competencies assessed and not met may also have a comment in Notes
• auditors responsibility for proving competency.
