Toyota of N Charlotte shares tips
on how to safely drive in the rain
Whenever it’s pouring out, you must be careful on the road. The roads are slippery and traffic gets
pretty insane when it’s pouring out! In an ideal world, you would want stay off the roads completely.
However, we recognize that we don’t live in an ideal world. To stay prepared on the road when the
streets are wet, Toyota of N Charlotte is sharing safe driving tips!
Prep your new Toyota near Charlotte to take on the wet roads
Before you jump in your new Toyota when it’s raining, you want to be sure that your Toyota is ready to take
on the wet streets. Here are some of the things that you need to make sure are in working order before you
decide to take on the wet streets:
Car tires – make sure that your tires have enough tread
Brakes – Working brakes are key when you need to come to an abrupt stop during rainy weather
Headlights – Headlights are incredibly important when you’re driving in the rain since you need
visibility on your side
Safely drive your new Toyota in N Charlotte in the rain
Getting behind the wheel of your new Toyota in N Charlotte during inclement weather can be dangerous, but
we’ve got your back when it comes to safe driving tips! Here are some things you should keep in mind when
you’re driving your new Toyota during inclement weather:
Avoid large puddles
As you may know, puddles come with rain. You want to avoid rain puddles as much as possible because they
can cause your N Charlotte Toyota to hydroplane and lose control! You should also avoid puddles because
you don’t know how deep they are! If you go over a deep puddle, you can cause a lot of damage to your ride.
Give yourself more time to travel
If you have to drive your Toyota in N Charlotte, give yourself ample time to travel and get to your
destination. If you give yourself enough time, you won’t be inclined to speed (which can be extremely
hazardous in wet streets) to your final destination.
Keep your distance from other cars
Whenever you’re driving in the rain, keep your distance from other vehicles. A good rule of thumb when
driving in wet roads is to keep about five car lengths between your new Toyota and the car in front of you.
You never know when you’ll have to brake abruptly. It’s much harder to brake when roads are wet, so don’t
tailgate!
Turn on headlights and windshield wipers
Turning on your headlights when it’s raining is the law. Make sure that when you turn on your windshield
wipers, you turn on your headlights, even if there’s daylight. This will help improve your visibility and will
help others see you on the road!
As you can see, it’s easy to drive safely while it’s raining. Follow our tips and you can try to stay safe when
the weather gets nasty.
