President’s Report August 2013 GDay All,

I would like to start this report with a big

CONGRATULATIONS to our Members who competed in the Sarina

and Hughenden Festivals.

The Pitt Stop jam that was moved to Ray and Val’s was a beauty, so I

have been told.

There is no Funday this month, as the Mary McKillop Family Fare is

on that Sunday. There will be a Jam at Val and Ray’s on the Saturday

night instead(See Dates to Remember).

Our Talent Search is coming closer and we would like more sponsors,

so, if you know of anybody let one of the Committee know. The

nomination forms are on the web if you know of any performer who

would like to enter.

September the 22nd

has been set aside for another Jam and Sausage

Sizzle at Palleranda, so keep it clear. Ladies don’t forget to bring a plate

for morning and afternoon teas. If you are attending please let Val know

for the catering.

To any of our Members on the sick list get well soon as you are missed.

Thank you to the Hughenden Committee for their hospitality at their

Festival.

G'day

My name is Phoebe Jay and I want to say a big thank you. I went to the Sarina Country Music

Festival last month. I did really well and had an amazing time. I met some really friendly people

and made some great friends with people from all over the place. So to everyone who helped

me to have such an awesome time thanks! I really want to thank the Townsville & Thuringowa

and also the Kelso Country Music clubs for their encouragement and support to enrich my

country music journey at the Festival. Thanks for the opportunity to sing at your events and the

advice I have been given from everyone in the clubs. A special thanks to the Wednesday Pitstop

crew - Glenda, Eddy, Richard, Darryl, Maureen and others . Thanks for your advice and

guidance!!!

I head off to Hughenden the end of this month to sing and also to find out what a

Muttabuttasauraus is???

I can't wait to catch up with the many friends I have already met and to meet some more!!

Will have heaps of fun doing what I love to do best, "Keeping it Country"

Some people are wondering why the magazine has

been issued before the Funday. As we are now sending at least half of our magazines

out by e.mail, the committee decided that we have a

send out day on the 1st of the month. Printed copies will

be sent out around that date, this will allow you to see

what is on for that month rather than half way through

the month.

Any information you would like added to the magazine

should be submitted by the beginning of the last week

of the month.
