The Town of St. Walburg is beginning the process of re-developing the town website. We have

created a Facebook page as well.The Town Council has recognized the need for the citizens and families of St. Walburg to be

kept up to date with the happenings of the town. Please be patient with us during this process.

GARBAGE BAGS INSTEAD OF TAGS

Town residents will now be purchasing “Town of St. Walburg” garbage bags instead of tags. The bags will be printed with “Town of St. Walburg” and will be the standard glad garbage bag. This is to standardize collection, now we see all types and sizes of bags. Cost of bags will be $2.00.

Tags may be traded in for bags and there will be a grace period until July 31, 2015 for use of tags. Should you attend at the waste site with a bag of garbage, not “Town of St. Walburg” bags, the cost of a tag will be $3.00 to standardize cost with all surrounding transfer sites.

AUGUST 1: THE FELLOWS WILL ONLY PICK UP “TOWN OF ST. WALBURG” BAGS.

Other bags, with or without tags, will be picked up if left out for collection for 2 weeks, and owner will be charged $5.00 per bag. Should you attend at the waste site with a bag of garbage, not “Town of St. Walburg” bag, the cost of a tage will be $3.00 to standardize cost with all surrounding transfer sites.

a story and craft. * You can download books and audio books onto your device through the library.

Disaster Planning for St. Walburg

The Senior’s Centre is now equipped with a generator, so this means there will be lights and heat during lengthy power outages. This will also be the operation centre for the Town.

If you are cold or can’t cook a meal come to the Senior’s Centre---bring your own food and clean up after.

Prevent Flooding This Spring!

CAA has a great write-up on their website about preventing flooding around your property this spring…and with all the

extra snow this winter, any little bit helps.

Prevention TIPS:- Remove the snow from around the foundation of your home to a spot where it will drain away from your property- Know where your home’s main water shut-off valve is in the event there is a leak or a pipe bursts- Extend your downspouts and make sure your eaves and window wells are clean of debris- Check out grading around your home to ensure water runs away from your foundation- Check your sump pump to see if it is working and install a BACKWATER VALVE (mandatory in St. Walburg) for additional security- Check your foundation for cracks and fill them with suitable material to prevent water from entering.
