ZAP Mosquitoes: Dump Your Water Day campaign which encourages residents to make every Wednesday “Dump Your Water Day”. Weekly dumping and cleaning of items that may hold standing water is an important step in reducing the number of mosquitoes that may potentially carry Zika and other illnesses.

The Kenoza Lake Volunteer Fire Department's annual chicken barbeque will be held on Saturday, July 28th, 4:00 p.m., at the firehouse. At the same time, the Kenoza Lake United Methodist Women will be having a bake sale on the front lawn of the Kenoza Lake United Methodist Church. Please come out and support two very worthy causes and enjoy some delicious food at the same time
July 4th Concert at the Historic Bethel Presbyterian Church Featuring Jay Ganz on Pedal Steel Guitar Wednesday, July 4th, a free concert will be held in the beautiful sanctuary of the historic Bethel Presbyterian Church. The evening will feature one of Sullivan County’s most accomplished musicians, Jay Ganz. Jay is a resident of Divine Corners, and has been performing in bands for over 30 years. He plays the pedal steel guitar.
Little Sparrow will host the concert, and perform a selection of folk and old time country music with Jay, showcasing the pedal steels guitars unique sound. Doors open at 5pm, music starts at 6pm. There will be light snacks, and please feel free to bring an appetizer to share. The church is located at 1972 State Route 17B, Bethel, New York. Free will donations will be gladly accepted. ARTSPACE, its new gallery,
performance and exhibition space
located at 3575 State Route 55 in the
heart of Kauneonga Lake, Fox will
once again take to the microphone and
regale audiences with true stories
based upon his colorful life. Fox, an
author, columnist, photographer and
self-proclaimed “Bon Vivant”,
continues his epic storytelling in the
Catskills.
This event is a fundraiser for the BCA.
Admission $10. for active members
and $15. for non-members. Seating is
limited and reservations are
recommended by emailing

reference “Fox” in the subject line.
The 90 minute show will be followed
by a reception open to all paid BCA
members and all event attendees.
Refreshments will be served.

The Bethel Local Development Corporation (BLDC) in conjunction with Bethel Council of the Arts (BCA), Bethel Business Association (BBA) and local sponsors presents its lineup for this summer’s Bethel Lakeside Music free music series at Kauneonga Lake Community Park. Good friends, live music, and rocking tunes. What more can you ask for in a summer concert series! Bethel Lakeside Music combines all of the above. Not to mention, it's free.
Live at Kauneonga Lake Community Park, Rt. 55 and Lake Street in Kauneonga Lake, starting June 28th and will continue every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. through September. And if it rains the show will go on at Kauneonga Lake Firemen’s Pavilion.
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, sit back, relax, and listen to Sullivan County's finest local and regional musicians. After the concert, take a short stroll to one of the local restaurants; have dinner or enjoy a cocktail while viewing the sunset on an outdoor terrace.

New Pool and Pavilion Rental Fees. All forms are available online on the Town Website under the Parks and Recreation Department. www.town.bethel.ny.us Pool should be open by July 1st.
Items Needed for Summer Programs - Any donations of craft materials and board games for our summer programs. Outdoor toys, Legos, building blocks, toy cars and dolls in good shape are also accepted. We also collect the following items for craft projects: paper towel rolls, toilet tissue rolls, pudding cups, yogurt containers, glass jars of various sizes with lids, Styrofoam meat or vegetable trays, glass baby food jars with lids and shoe boxes. Items may be dropped off at the Town Park during operating hours, the Dr. Duggan Community Center or Town Hall.
Town Park
The park is closed to the public from dusk to dawn and from July 2-August 17, M-F, until 1 PM. When accessing the playground when the main gate is closed, please do not park your vehicle in the roadway. The garden is not open to the public. It is our youth camp’s garden to give healthy options for snacks. TOBY offers
harvested items for sale at the park on most Fridays. We are an alcohol free, drug free and smoke free facility.

Summer Camp – both half-day and full day are at capacity. No registrations will be accepted as of June 27th. Morning Camp Dates and Times: Camp begins Monday, July 2, 2018 (no camp on July 4th) and the 6-week Morning program ends Friday, August 10, 2018. Hours are 9 AM to12:30 PM. Early drop-off times (beginning at 7:30 AM) and late pick-up times (until 1:30 PM) are available for an additional fee.
All Day Camp Dates and Times: Camp begins Monday, July 2, 2018 (no camp on July 4th) and the 7-week Morning program ends Friday, August 17, 2018. Hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Early drop-off times (beginning at 6:30 AM) and late pick-up times (until 6:00 PM) are available for an additional fee.
Kick-it Off Exercise Class -Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM.
Mike McCauley combines cardio moves with targeted exercises for the “problem areas” set to a rocking beat. Open to all. Cost is $5/class. Bethel Youth may participate in the program for free. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. Participants are encouraged to do what you can, as long as you are moving. We also offer modified Kick-it Off exercises for those who prefer to exercise sitting down in a chair. Duggan gym.
Tae Kwon Do Classes -Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM with Sensei Mike McCauley, second-degree black belt. Open to children in Grade 2 through adults. Wear comfortable clothes. The program is done in bare feet. Cost of the program is $5/class. Try the first class for free! NO CLASS JULY 3rd. Duggan gym.
PickleBall Court Times – Mondays and Fridays 6-8 PM Duggan Gym. Open to all. Please bring sneakers that have a good grip. The outdoor court at the park is open M-F 1 to 6 PM, Sat & Sun 11 to 7.
Town Pool – expected opening date Friday, June 29th. The pool is open to the public Monday-Fridays from 1 to 6 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 7 PM, unless otherwise indicated. The season usually lasts until Labor Day but is subject to change due to lifeguard availability.
Daily or season passes are available for purchase at the pool. Town of Bethel residents must show proof of residency (physical address) to receive the Bethel resident rates. Patrons are expected to follow all pool and park rules which are posted at the pool and park. Our park is a smoke-free facility.

Pavilion Rentals – the Town Park Pavilion is available for rent on weekends for family gatherings and birthday parties. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for available dates. $90 rental fee for Town of Bethel residents. $150 for non-residents. Some dates in July and August are booked. Please call 292-2843 or e-mail [email protected] for availability. Must be 21 years of age to rent the pavilion. Pool parties are available without the cost of renting the pavilion.
IPAP (Infant-Preschool Aquatics Program)
This is a parent and child water adjustment program for infants 6 month or older to youth up to age 3. It will be held on Saturday mornings for 3 sessions at the Bethel Pool. Children are required to wear a swimsuit and swim diaper If needed. A parent must go in the pool with the child. Cost of the program is $20 for the 3 half hour lessons. Begins July 14th.
Time of class: Ages 6 months to 3 years old – 10:30 AM
minimum of 3 children must be enrolled in each time slot for the class to be held. Please register by July 10th. Call 583-5360 to register.
Lap Swimming Dates and Times – teens and adults are welcome to swim laps in the pool, weather permitting, Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:00 AM during the month of July beginning 7/14.
Bethel Book Garden –We are seeking donations including gently used children’s and young adult books and materials that came be used to create comfy sitting areas (pillows, rugs, hula hoops, vinyl shower curtains) and monetary donations. Also, anyone who is willing to read to children are encouraged to call the park at 292-2843 to set up a day and time.
Lake Compounce Amusement Park Family Bus Trip – Thursday, August 2nd. Leave Duggan parking lot at 8:15AM and the park at 7 PM. The cost includes a coach bus seat and admission to the park (thrill rides and water rides). Children must be at least 3 years old or older to attend.

Registrations will be accepted until July 20th. Registration will be held on Thursday, July 5th at the Bethel Recreation Center from 6 to 6:30 PM or may be dropped off at TOBY camp or the Bethel Town Hall. Payment is due at registration.
Annual TOBY Camp show – Wednesday, August 1st at 7 PM on the stage at Duggan Community Center.
Buddy Benches in Memory of Noah DeMondo fundraiser – to honor the memory of TOBY camper, Noah, who passed away from injuries he sustained in a car accident on June 21st, we will be placing 2 buddy benches at the town park. Noah, with his radiant smile and kindness to others, will be deeply missed by the Bethel Youth community. We are accepting donations that may be dropped off at the town park or town hall. Checks should be made payable to BLDC. What is a buddy bench? Everyone has experienced feeling a little lost and overwhelmed. Buddy benches are a simple and safe way for children to reach out to others around them. Making new friends and finding new activities to love is an exciting part of everyone’s camp experience!
