Allergy Alert Program Background The safety of our Members is always a priority. The number of people with food allergies has doubled in recent years and this statistic holds true within our membership. Allergic reactions can be very dangerous, even fatal. We wanted a way to help our staff recognize those members, especially children, who have allergies so they can make sure their food orders are handled accordingly. “Peanut Allergy White Paper” presents the current science on peanut allergies, while placing it in the context of foodallergies overall. This document was shared with our members to gain knowledge and awareness of food allergies. Solution Town & Country Club Allergy Alert Program 1. Educate - Teach staff about various food allergies and their dangers 2. Inform - Members are asked to inform Club Management of all food allergies and special dietary needs. Management, the Executive Chef, and the Front Desk have updated information available at all times. 3. Alert - Allergy Alert Wristbands lets the wait staff know of special dietary needs. Promotion Newsletter announcements Email blasts Digital signage at Front Desk On-going Staff training Challenge To increase awareness of food allergies, help staff identify young Members with allergies, and train staff on procedures if someone has an allergic reaction in our dining facilities. Results The wristbands help prevent children from being served foods to which they are allergic.
