General: 1. Ensure all hardware items have been included refer to assembly diagram. 2. It is recommended that the instructions are read through and completely understood before making any attempt to fit this product. 3. Be wary of any changes to vehicle designs or other accessories that may conflict with the installation of this product. 4. Before drilling ensure that the area is clear of fuel, electrical & other components. 5. All holes drilled into the body panels shall have all burrs & swarf removed then coated with a suitable rust preventative paint. 6. For vehicles that require the bumper to be cut. Ensure cut out area is in correct position on the vehicle prior to cutting the bumper. 7. The high tensile fasteners supplied with this product were used to achieve the specified rating. If replacement is required ensure that fasteners of the same rating & quality are used. Contact an authorized Trailboss dealer if further information is required. 8. Ensure that all hardware is fastened to torque list below check fasteners on regular basis. 9. Tow bar load rating sticker provided with this product shall be conspicuously located on inside rear end of the driver's door. (See diagram below). 10. Trailboss recommends that you check your tow ball to ensure that it complies with the Australian standards AS 4177.2. 11. PLEASE NOTE: It is advised to remove your LUG or TBM when not actually towing so as to produce a clear view of the vehicles registration plate if obscured, and to also provide maximum available departure angle Tow bar Maintenance and Care. Trailboss recommends that bolt torque’s, as listed below, are routinely and regularly inspected and checked for correct tension. Replace any worn or defective parts. We recommended to remove Tow Ball Mounts (TBM’s, tongues or lugs) when not being used for an y considerable length of time. So as to avoid injury, when not towing it is suggested that the tongue, Pull Pin and R-clip are removed then stored in a safe, clean and dry place, away from excessive moisture. Hitch Pull Pins and spring “R” clips are regularly checked for proper installation. Replace any worn or defective parts. 1. Remove 2x plastic caps from bumper (both sides)

2. Remove 3 x screws located behind bumper caps.

3. Carefully remove taillight by pushing it rearward of

vehicle. Some force may be required. Unplug taillights in 2 places. Repeat both sides.

4. Remove 1 x torx head screw along top of bumper.

Repeat for other side of vehicle.

5. Remove 1 x scrivets at base of wheel arch.

Repeat for other side of vehicle.

6. Carefully peel wheel arch trim away from vehicle.

Some force may be required. Repeat for both sides.

7. Remove 4 x scrivets and 1 x hex head screw

behind wheel arch trim. Repeat for both sides.

8. Remove 2 x screw and 1 x scrivets from

underneath bumper. Repeat for opposite side of vehicle.

Flex bumper out at the sides then pull rearward to remove, some force may be required. Store the bumper in a safe location

9. Remove the 2X M10 nuts on the lower end of the

impact beam on each side Fig 9 and retain the nuts for towbar fitment.

10. Remove the tape on the chassis rail to expose

the M12 captive nuts Fig 10.

11. Remove the seam seal wherever needed.

12. Lower rear muffler via 4 x rubber hangers (2 x per

side) to gain better access.

13. Fit side arm brackets on both sides of vehicle

with retained 2 x M10 nuts from impact beam.

14. Align the holes in the side arm of the towbar to the side arm bracket and fasten with 2 x M10 bolts and washers provided.

Note: See assembly drawing for correct orientation of components.

15. Manoeuvre the towbar to the chassis frame so

that the holes in the side arms of the towbar align with the captive nuts and holes in the chassis rail.

16. Fasten with 2 x M12 bolts & washers provided loosely on both sides.

Fasten all hardware to Torque listing on Page 2.

17. Find the centre of bumper. Mark out and cut

bumper as shown ensuring there are no loose wires close to cut out.

Refit the bumper in the reverse order of removal.

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

2. In the luggage compartment area, remove the floor cover carpets.

3. Remove bolt in center of spare tire.

4. Disconnect connector located outside of spare tire.

5. Remove subwoofer.

6. Remove spare tire.

7. Remove the plastic trays.

8. At the rear of luggage compartment, remove the two clips, remove the rear luggage compartment trim by pulling in an upwards direction.

9. In the upper section of the LHS luggage compartment trim, remove the plastic screw

cover and the two phillips head screws.

10. Remove the clip.

11. Remove the two 10mm bolts and remove the two tie downs.

12. Dislodge the LHS luggage compartment trim. Repeat for RHS.

13. Remove the LHS front door sill trim.

14. Dislodge the bottom of the rear LHS weather seal.

15. Undo plastic nut and remove the LHS kick panel trim.

16. Remove the LHS rear door still trim.

17. Dislodge the bottom of the rear LHS weather seal.

18. Dislodge the base of the LHS ‘B’ pillar trim.

19. Open the glove box compartment.

20. Disconnect the damper.

21. Squeeze both sides of the glove box compartment and swing the drawer downwards towards the footwell.

22. On each corner of the glove box compartment, pull the drawer towards the seat and remove from hinges.

23. Remove the under dash trim.

24. At the rear of vehicle using an alcohol wipe (not supplied), clean the sheet metal inner skin exterior side located behind the break out connector and grounding point area. This is where the ECU(P/No: 04836) will be mounted.

25. Connect the trailer patch connector to the ECU.

26. Remove the backing from the back of the ECU and mount the ECU onto the sheet

metal area. Ensure ECU is mounted with the connector pointing downwards.

27. Run the Trailer Wiring Harness towards the LHS tail light connectors, following the existing vehicle harness.

28. Locate the ground point on the LHS wheel arch area. Secure the trailer patch ground ring terminal to the vehicle grounding point using the existing vehicle fastener.

29. Patch in the Trailer Wiring Harness 6-way connectors into the LHS tail light connectors.

30. Following the existing vehicle harness, route the Trailer Wiring Harness along the rear

and towards the RHS of the vehicle.

31. Run the Trailer Wiring Harness towards the RHS tail light connectors.

32. Patch in the Trailer Wiring Harness 6-way connectors into the RHS tail light connectors.

33. Appropriately route the reverse patch terminal branch up along the ‘D’ pillar and into

the head lining.

34. Locate the vehicle harness connectors in the roof lining (not shown).

35. Using a multi-meter, locate the reverse wire signal from the vehicle harness.

36. Connect the ezy-tap to the located vehicle wire signal, then connect the trailer patch terminal to the ezy-tap.

37. From the luggage compartment on the LHS, route the Power Line along the vehicle

harness where possible, to the fuse panel located in the front passenger side foot well.

38. Locate the position where add-a-fuse will be placed as shown.

39. At the front passenger fuse panel area, insert the supplied fuse (20A) into the add-a-fuse harness upper slot.

40. Connect the add-a-fuse harness 1-way connector to the trailer patch 1-way connector. Insert the add-a-fuse into the empty fuse location. Ensure the add-a-fuse is mounted in the orientation as shown.

41. Connect add-a-fuse to power connector, then route power connector towards rear of vehicle, following existing harness where possible.

42. In the glovebox cavity, unplug the vehicle’s reverse park assist module.

43. Plug in the RPA Disable Patch Harness into RPA module.

44. Connect vehicle harness into the RPA disable.

45. Route the RPA Disable patch towards the LHS rear of the vehicle, following existing

vehicles harness where possible.

46. Connect the trailer wiring harness 1-way connector to the RPA disable mating 1-way connector.

47. Feed blue connector of tail (P/No: 04844) through the grommet hole.

48. At the rear exterior of the vehicle, mount the tail harness socket to the towbar mounting bracket using M4 fasteners (not supplied).

49. Route the tail harness (tail length: 1800mm) across the LHS and up into the exposed grommet hole.

50. Adjust the trailer patch harness grommet so that it is seated correctly and cable tie (not

supplied) in place.

51. Connect the tail harness 8-way connector to the trailer patch 8-way mating connector.

52. Connect wires with crimp and insulate connections.

53. Test the trailer wiring harness function using a light board or multi-meter.

54. Secure all harnesses using cable ties (not supplied).

55. Re-fit all removed parts and secure all fasteners, ensuring there are no squeaks or rattles.

56. Place the fitting instructions in the glove box after fitment.

• These fitting instructions are supplied to ensureunderstanding of how the HITCH PIN should be fitted andused correctly.

• Once installed, we recommend ALL instructions are kept andplaced in the vehicle glove box.

NOTE: Routine maintenance and inspection of the towbar & HITCH PIN is required. Regularly inspect for wear and check the tightness of the Hitch Pin. Follow instructions below to retighten the nut when necessary.

*Do not tow with your vehicle if the R CLIP or the HITCH PIN isloose or missing. Replacement parts are available from your Pro Series Distributor.

Insert Trailer Ball Mount (TBM) into towbar HITCHBOX, aligning hole in TBM SHANK with hole in HITCHBOX (Fig 2).

Insert HITCH PIN through hole in HITCHBOX and hole in TBM SHANK; ensure the LOCATORS are inserted into the NOTCHES in the HITCHBOX (Fig. 3).

Screw HITCH PIN NUT onto HITCH PIN ; tighten HITCH PIN NUT until fingerSTEP STEP 3 3 tight, ensuring TBM is restrained from movement.

Tighten HITCH PIN NUT by turning nut a further 1/8th of a turn in the clockwise direction using a 24mm spanner (Fig. 4).

STEP 4

Install HITCH PIN R CLIP through the hole on the HITCH PIN (Fig. 1). STEP 5
