Collaborating on Bigger, More Complex ProjectsGanti & Associates Inc. is a highly creative archi-tectural firm providing the wide range of ser-vices for customers, including master planning, commercial, hospitality, residential, civic, lighting and institutional projects. Founded in USA, by Shekar Ganti in 2005, Ganti & Associates Inc. started its Mumbai wing in 2008. The firm grew from a few people to a team strength of 32 architects & designers, who support national and international design projects.

In recent years, Ganti & Associates Inc. has garnered global recognition for several archi-tectural accomplishments & developed a couple of award-winning projects. Ganti & Associates Inc. combines cross cultural experience with its presence in US and India and an innate ability to make each space a personal reflection of its in-habitants. Ganti & Associates Inc. designs spaces that are unique, personal and respectful of the environment they share. Project Summary: Developed by the Panchshil Realty – a prime real estate firm based in Pune, W Estates is a premi-um residential bungalows project prominently located at Wagholi, eastern side of Pune city. The property is set within 121 lush green acres abutting to the Mula-Mutha river. W Estates is like a painted masterpiece with rolling hills, river,

lakes and graceful trees situated just few min-utes from the Pune International Airport. This project also enjoys a great location advantage; it is close to premium residential localities like Koregaon Park, Magarpatta City, etc. with ample facilities of restaurants, theatres, schools, malls, hospitals and IT Parks. minutes from Lohegoan Airport. This project also enjoys a great location advantage; it is close to restaurants, theatres, schools, malls, hospitals and IT Parks. W Estates is developed to deliver an entire city block of prime, mixed-use space without over-powering its neighbors. The project consists of 188 premium villas with all modern amenities. Keeping in sync with Panchshil’s Green Earth philosophy, this pre-approved LEED – Platinum rating project has been designed for sustainable living using methods and materials for a greener environment. It is lined with tree canopies and water bodies, outdoor meeting points and bicycle paths.

The ChallengesThere were several design challenges the team at Ganti & Associates Inc. had to overcome. The primary challenge was to encompass 188 villas and a clubhouse in 121 acres of land with the array of offerings that includes 5500, 9500 and 14500 sq ft villas having different floor plans and well-manicured greenery equipped with various

amenities, product mix, with an undulating landscape. Visualizing the project with multiple design options and data from various sources and converting water bodies and sloping terrain into the picturesque landscape had an impact on design layout and requires a creative approach to overcome challenges.

Results: Get Real Time Data for Decisions The introduction of the Autodesk BIM sys-tem has enabled Ganti & Associates Inc. to address such issues as distributed collabora-tive design, cross-disciplinary and cross-product-line data sharing, data accuracy and consistency, data security, change accuracy and timeliness. By applying the BIM solutions for different business needs, firm has also addressed such issues as improved management, reduced costs and enhanced data accuracy.

Ganti & Associates Inc. used BIM or all four models - architectural, structural, interiors and MEP. It served as a centralized plat-form for resolving problems during design coordination and benefits in the field when the construction of villas started. It was extremely helpful, particularly with shaping the terrain with minimal damage to the environment without excavation and filling requirements. Easily handling large number of variations in villas built to suit the individ-ual needs of customers.
