Context
• ASSEMBLY is one of the world largest and most respected demo/lan parties. Partying since 1992 =).
• Party Management System v1.0 built in last year’s Software Development Project
• Successfully used at ASSEMBLY Summer 2008 for managing demoscene competitions (battle tested!)
• Core modules done with C# and Mono framework.
• Web UI done with PHP

Extend PMS with Game Tournament Management
• Improving & refactoring an existing, separate tournament system to work on top of PMS
• Functionality includes e.g. setting up tournaments & players, running tournaments, viewing progress and results
• For use by trained admins and general public (set up a game tournament among your friends)
![Page 7: Tournament Management System](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022062520/56815e08550346895dcc6112/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Team requirements
• Experience with PHP and/or C++ / C# / Java
• Preferably experience in developing web applications
• Existing infrastructure & reference implementation makes this at max a ”normal” difficulty project
• Commitment to making it work (yes, rly!)– We actually do use this system in real life ;-)

Off to a flying start
• Existing, working codebase & infrastructure – tested in real life use!
• Existing reference implementation of a game tournament system
• Team members from last year’s Ohjelmatyö project and previous tournament system continue to contribute
• Experienced customer & technical advisors that intimately know the system and want to see it developed further
• Plenty of support from ASSEMBLY staff (e.g. UI design, testing)
• Existing tools (e.g. Trac, mailing lists, servers, testing frameworks)
