THE VENUE AND TOURIST SPOTSTorrox is a municipality in the province of Malaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain. It belongs to the Comarca of Axarquia and it is located inthe Costa del Sol Oriental, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Only 30 minutes from the historical city centre of Malaga and 40 minutes from the International Airport Pablo Ruiz Picasso (AGP).

Torrox has a duality that does not leave its visitors indifferent: on one side, its more than 9 kms of coast with clear waters; on the other, the traditional image of its white streets decorated with flowers, a typical characteristic of these villages. Its modern Constitution Square, whose multi-coloured umbrellas are known all over the world, is a tourist attraction of spectacular beauty, and this year is wearing the colours of the Spanish flag.

The coast offers the beauty of extensive crystalline beaches with impressive facilities and services. It has a coastline of more than 9 kms of beaches starting from the town of El Morche, a coastal town adapted to tourism but without losing the essence of its fishing origin. It is essential to walk along its coastal path and enjoy one of the only two dune areas that remain in the province of Malaga. Following the route of the coast we can reach the extensive beach of Ferrara, where it is located the splendid viewpoint of the Lighthouse, or the almost virgin beaches of El Peñoncillo and Calaceite.

Torrox has been nominated, according to the study done in 2008, the place with the “Best climate in Europe”, has an unbeatable climate. The proximity of the Sierra Almijara, as well as the Mediterranean Sea, make temperatures in Torrox moderate in both winter and summer. The average annual temperature is 18.2 ° C, with no big variation between winter and summer.

CONTACT INFORMATIONThe ebt Finals 2021 will be organised by the EHF in co-operation with the Royal Spanish Handball Federation as the local organiser (OC).

The event will be hosted in Torrox, Malaga / ESP at the Zona deportiva Ferrara Torrox Costa from 3 to 6 June 2021.

PARTICIPATING TEAMSThe ebt Finals will be carried out with 32 teams (16 women and 16 men teams) playing group matches, placement matches and the finals.

• Qualified teams from season 18/19: - 12+12 best teams according to the ranking - last reigning champions - wildcard organiser (female and male)• Best two female and male teams from the last season 2019/20 (2+2)

SUBSTITUTE TEAMSIf the qualified teams (according to the list on the next page) do not use their participation right, the next ranked teams from the last two seasons, who provided their registration, will be selected. Priority for accepting substitute teams will be given to teams from new countries and then to countries with only one team confirmed, following the ebt rankings.

IMPORTANT: Therefore all teams willing to participate in the ebt Finals 2021, but not qualified yet, should send their registration within the given deadline.

QUALIFIED TEAMSAccording to the ranking of the previous ebt season (2018/19) and the aforesaid conditions, the following teams qualified for the ebt Finals in 2021:

IMPORTANT: The qualified teams need to confirm their participation within the defined deadline (31 March 2021) and transfer the deposit payment to the EHF within this deadline.

OVERVIEW FINANCESDeposit The qualified teams (see ranking on page 5) shall confirm their participation to the EHF Office by email (pisani@eurohandball.com) and by transferring the deposit payment of € 2,000 by 31 March 2021 to the EHF bank account: Bank Austria, account No. 640 000 204, SWIFT code: BKAUATWW, IBAN code: AT46 1200 0006 4000 0204

A payment guarantee of the respective National Federation will also be accepted and needs to be communicated in due time. The deposit payment (€ 2,000 to EHF) will be stored within the EHF and used in case of need.

Only teams that transfer the deposit payment (€2,000) within the registration period are entitled to participate in the ebt Finals 2021.

Substitute teams shall transfer the deposit payment only AFTER the confirmation by EHF.

Entry feeAll teams participating in the ebt Finals have to pay an entry fee of € 200 per team, which will be deducted from the deposit payment. Therefore a maximum of €1,800 will be transferred back after the ebt Finals.

If one of the qualified teams does not register or does not pay the deposit fee, the second ranked and registered team of this nation will be selected. If less than 12 different nations apply, the next ranked and registered team (following the ebt ranking) of any nation will be selected (see also page 4, “Substitute Teams”).

Therefore ALL ebt teams of the last two seasons, not qualified by ranking (see table page 5) interested in participating, shall return the enclosed registration form within the registration deadline. The deposit payment for substitute teams has to be made only after EHF confirmation.

Accommodation and transferThe accommodation booking for all teams is obligatory via the local organiser (OC). The transfer from and to the airport can be arranged by the OC upon request. (€35 one way). The nearest airport is Malaga airport.

All listed prices are per person per day and include full board/day/person (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

The hotels are all in the range of maximum 2.5 km distance to the venue/courts (see map). The daily transfer from the hotel to the playing courts, round trip, will be free of charge for teams.

Please note that there are limited numbers of rooms in each hotel and that the hotel booking is made on a first-come, first-served basis.

The deadline for the accommodation booking for all participating teams is 16 April 2021. After this deadline the listed prices can’t be guaranteed.

The accommodation booking via the local organiser and within the deadline is obligatory for all teams without any exceptions.
