Budapest

ÚJBUDA (the XI. district, our district) the largest district in Buda.

The area of 33,47 km2 is home to 137 000 people.

Újbuda has many different kind of territory:

- cottages- industrial area- building estate- garden suburb- campus

The Citadell

GELLÉRT HILLWith its height of 235 metres, Gellért Hill is one of the most remarkable places in the district.

Its Eastern side forms a mere steep tower rock on the right bank of the river Danube.

In 1947 the famous Liberation Monument was erected which, made by Kisfaludi Strobl Zsigmond, is a major symbol of Budapest up to the present days.
