After an early breakfast, you will drive to Langano. Among the many interesting geographical features of the Great Rift Valley is Ethiopia’s lakes region. These seven lakes are rich in nature and are particularly abundant with bird life. Lake Langano is the only one somewhat developed for tourism and safe for swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing and just for recreation. Lakes Abijata and Shala constitute a national park of the same name. Although only a 3 km strip of land separates them, the two lakes are quite different. Shala, the southern lake is enclosed in a 266 m deep crater while Abijata is a large shallow brackish lake no more than 14 m deep. Shala is mostly inaccessible, except for its eastern shores with steaming hot springs, hot enough for instant cooking. After your visit drive back to Addis. Overnight on your own arrangement
