2013 TOUR OF CALIFORNIASTAGE 5: SANTA BARBARA TO AVILA BEACH

Drivers can expect half-hour delays as the Amgen Tour ofCalifornia race enters San Luis Obispo County on Thursdayheading north on Highway 1. The 16 teams will ride along theMesa before heading into Arroyo Grande, through the Village andonto Highway 227 toward San Luis Obispo. They’ll pass the airporton Buckley Road and head toward Avila Beach by taking OntarioRoad to San Luis Bay Drive to Avila Beach Drive.

Parking in Avila Beach is limited, and spectators areencouraged to ride their bikes or take a shuttle. Parking will beallowed along a portion of Avila Beach Drive between the townand Port San Luis; at Avila Beach Golf Resort; the Bob Jones trailparking lot; the Avila Valley Barn and a private property off SeeCanyon Road (the latter two lots are paid, the rest are free).

Shuttle stops will be located nearby the parking areas totransport spectators to and from downtown Avila. A bike valetarea with room for 1,500 bikes is accessible via First Street atAvila Beach Drive.

Also, parking will not be allowed along East Branch Streetin the Village of Arroyo Grande starting at 7 a.m. through theconclusion of the event.
