GOLF COURSES

SIAM COUNTRY CLUB – OLD COURSE

Siam Country Club Old Course is one of the more famous Thailand golf courses. Originally designed by

Japanese architect Ichisuke Izumi, Siam Country Club was just the country's second course when it

opened in 1970. In those days, heavily contoured greens, large overhanging trees, and gentle bunkering

characterized the course.

The Old Course was closed in 2006-2007 for a complete renovation by Americans Lee Schmidt and Brian

Curley. The original routing was, for the most part, kept intact, while all aspects of the course were

modernized and brought up to international championship levels. Upgrades to the original out-and-

back parallel holes included curved fairways, new water hazards, high lipped bunkers, and relocated

greens. New greenside bunker complexes added the legendary Siam undulating putting surfaces.

Since reopening in 2007, the course has hosted several international golf tournaments including being

the home of the US LPGA Honda Classic since 2010. In 2018, Siam CC Old Course was recognized for its

excellence when it was voted 73rd best golf course in the world by USA Golf Digest magazine.

LAEM CHABANG

Laem Chabang Golf Club is a picturesque Jack Nicklaus designed championship course. It is considered

the best layout in Pattaya and indeed one of Thailand’s most beautiful. Laem Chabang is made up of 27

holes on 700 acres and incorporates three types of features which characterize each of the nines. Critics

widely hail this handiwork for the unique usage of the land's mixed terrain of mountains, lakes and river

valleys which are lovely as well as functional. Each type of terrain corresponds to a 9-hole course uniquely,

and as such, each one is named Mountain Course, Lake Course, and Valley Course.

The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to significant effect, and hazards are in

abundance. Not only does the course have a lot of bunkers, sand traps, and water hazards, there are also

a lot of natural hazards in the shape of exposed rock formations, lakes, ponds, and creeks. Cleverly

shaped holes skirt water hazards and tall coconut trees. Every tee named for a distinctive tree or shrub

planted nearby gives the course a unique floral emphasis. The large, undulating greens are mostly

elevated and protected by deep bunkers.

PHOENIX GOLD GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club was renovated in 2015 and has since hosted the Kings Cup (European

Tour) and Thailand Open (Ladies European Tour) events in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Then in 2018,

Pheonix Golf hosted both the Royal Cup (Asian Tour) and Ladies European Thailand Championship

(Ladies European Tour).

A robust Dennis Griffiths design, Pheonix plays on wooded, rolling terrain. This 27-hole Pattaya golf

course comprises three nines - Ocean, Lake and Mountain, and has magnificent views of the surrounding

mountains and the Gulf of Thailand. Large mango, eucalyptus trees, and flowering shrubs add color and

give a natural feel to the layout.

Gently contoured fairways, shallow bunkers, and sloping greens characterize this palm tree-lined

parkland course. Planted hedges define tee-boxes and offer a range of distances that accommodate

golfers of all abilities.

BLACK MOUNTAIN

Black Mountain was transformed from lush jungle and pineapple plantations and located around 25

minutes west of Hua Hin. Set in a valley surrounded by huge black granite rock covered mountains, the

Hua Hin golf course was the site for Asian PGA tour events in 2009 and 2010 and the Europe versus Asia

match play Royal Trophy in 2011. In 2012 and each year since Black Mountain was selected as one of the

100 best golf courses outside the USA by Golf Digest magazine. In 2014 Black Mountain hosted The

Thailand Classic, the first European Tour event to be staged in Thailand. The Thailand Classic also held

in 2015 and 2016, is now a major fixture on the European and Asian Tours.

The golf course looks as natural as possible and maintains many original features. The most important of

these are the small creeks that run throughout Black Mountain and the rocks used as design elements on

many of the holes. The original trees kept, and many new ones planted. Meandering creeks with spillways

for carts to pass over frame many of the holes.

A new nine holes opened for play in 2016 as the West Course. Many Hua Hin golfers like the composite

course, while some purists choose the original 18-holes.

BANYAN

Built among a former pineapple plantation, Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin opened in October 2008.

Immediately following, the course was awarded 2009 Best New Course in Asia-Pacific by the readers of

Asian Golf Monthly. Since then Banyan Golf Club course, clubhouse, and staff have consistently claimed

'Top 3 in Asia' awards and have been featured in the 'Rolex Top 1000' in the World.

Thailand golf course architect Pirapon Namatra from Golf East designed the world class 18-hole

championship golf course and is known to be one of the most natural in the country.

The course provides for spectacular mountain and ocean views from almost all of the holes and is one of

the best layouts in Hua Hin. Each hole has six tee boxes making the course more or less challenging

depending on each golfer’s ability and tee selection. Strategically placed water hazards, waste bunkers,

and sand traps are spread out throughout the course. Significant use of native pineapple groves makes

local fruits come into play if straying too far off the fairways. Be careful, pineapple plants are sharp and

scratch easily.

Sample the best of the Pattaya region on a private, half-day discovery tour of Chonburi province. Strike

bargains and sample wares in the market’s colourful aisles, then encounter Thailand’s extraordinary

wildlife at an aquarium and Khao Sam Muk, a cliff that’s home to a mischievous population of rhesus

monkeys. Visit a seaside oyster farm and meet local stonemasons in an artisans’ village where mortars

and pestles are still made by hand and enjoy a unique glimpse into life and work in a Thai village.

If you want to see more than what you can see from your beach chair or swimming pool lounge, discover

the other side of this bustling tourism spot; even it is only for half a day!

SUNSET LOCAL EATS TOUR

(HUA HIN OPTIONAL EXTENSION)

Exploring Hua Hin’s street food hotspots without a guide can mean only skimming the surface of what

locals eat.

This small-group evening tour lets you delve deeper: with a guide to show you the markets and

restaurants frequented by locals. Try staples such as sausages and rice balls, steamed rice dumplings with

pork, and seasonal tropical fruits, visit a salt-crusted fish restaurant, try Thai sweets, and hear

background on the dishes you’d otherwise miss. Your passionate Foodie Guides will lead you through the

market; sampling as you go. You will be tasting whatever your guide finds that looks good on the day, as

not all vendors are there every day.

This tour includes around 15 tastings, selected drinks, and hotel pickup and drop-off.

PRIVATE TRANSFERS

Included in the package are all airport, golf and accommodation private transfers for your group. Our

local professional drivers will ensure you reach each destination safely, comfortably, and on time.

PATTAYA TO HUA HIN TRANSFER

For those joining the Hua Hin extension option, we will be travelling from Pattaya to Hua Hin across the

Gulf of Thailand via the Royal Passenger Liner Ferry service in Business Class.

The ferry ride is 2 hours is duration, as opposed to 4 ½ hours via road. However, if weather is too rough,

we will be forced to take the trip by road as the ferry shuts down in bad weather.

RECOMMENDED FLIGHTS

Flights are not included, however we recommend the below flights ex. Brisbane. Air Asia offer discount

flights but do not operate the Bangkok flight on the 7th November. For anyone wishing to use Air Asia, we

suggest departing on 6th November and adding an extra night’s accommodation in Pattaya.

USEFUL TIP: Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport is known to be notoriuosly slow with their customs

process for internationals arrivals. To save time and frustration, it is recommended to purchase a Fast

Track service, which includes personal greeting with staff on arrival and dedicated customs lines that

drastically reduces your time at the airport. Please ask us for assistance with this.

Terms and Conditions

Payments

A minimum AU$250.00 deposit per person must be paid at the time of booking to guarantee your

position on your tour. Bookings will be taken on a first received basis.

Final balance due 28 days before tour commencement date.

Cancellations

All cancellations will be met with a cancellation fee. Cancellation fee depends on your specific tour

inclusions. Please contact us to discuss.

Cancellations by Signature Golf Tours

Signature Golf Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour at any time prior to commencement for any

reasons such as safety issues for our guests and staff, threats of terrorism, natural disasters, political

instability or any other such events that would otherwise jeopardise the safety of our guests and staff. In

the instance that Signature Golf Tours cancels a tour, guests will be given the option of a full refund of

monies paid, or choose an alternative tour of their liking. If the cost of the alternative tour is more than

the original tour, the guest must pay the outstanding amount prior to the tour commencing. If the

alternative tour has a cost which is less than the original tour, the total amount leftover will be refunded

to the guest.

On the occasion that any outside service or provider of Signature Golf Tours cancels or does not deliver

what is stated in the tour itinerary, Signature Golf Tours shall take no responsibility for such events.

However, we will endeavour to take action against said service or provider to obtain a refund or a

satisfactory alternative for said product or service.

Tour Inclusions

All included travel arrangements are outlined in each tour itinerary such as accommodation, transfers,

golf course access, event tickets, etc. All tour information is accurate to the best of our knowledge at time

of printing, however changes to tours can/may occur. We will ensure that guests will be made aware of

any changes to tour itineraries when/if they arise.

Tour Exclusions

Tour exclusions include meals, flights, travel insurance, passport and visa fees, outside activities from

tour itinerary, transfers outside of tour itinerary, personal items, etc. unless stated in tour itinerary.

Guest Conduct and Responsibilities

All guests are to conduct themselves in a respectful manner so as to not disrupt any other tour guests or

members of the public. Guests will be responsible for their own actions. Any guest acting in a

disrespectful, dangerous, criminal, etc. manner may be asked to leave the golf course, accommodation,

tour, etc. and no refund will be issued. Guests are also solely responsible for any item or service they may

be utilising such as golf carts, accommodation, hire vehicles, etc. and will be responsible for any damage

caused.

Accommodation

Certain accommodation providers that Signature Golf Tours utilise for tours will require guests to

provide credit card details for security deposits and for cover against any incidentals that may occur

during your stay. Guests will be liable for any such incidentals, fees and charges that may arise from this.

Signature Golf Tours will not be held liable for such incidentals, fees or charges.

Travel Insurance

It is the responsibility of each guest that they have the correct travel insurance in place to cover personal

illness, accident, cancellations, theft or loss of personal items, evacuation, etc. It is a requirement that all

guests of Signature Golf Tours have obtained travel insurance prior to commencing a tour with a copy of

coverage provided to Signature Golf Tours prior to commencement. Travel insurance is not included in

any Signature Golf Tours tour.

Passport and Visa Requirements

If required, each guest must carry a valid passport and have the appropriate visas in place when on a

Signature Golf Tours tour. Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond your return date. It is each

guest’s responsibility to ensure that they have obtained the correct visa for your travel. Signature Golf

Tours will accept no responsibility if a guest is refused entry to a country due to incorrect passport and

visa documentation.

Photography and Media

All photography, videography and other media that are obtained during the hosting of a tour will remain

the property of Signature Golf Tours. We may also use such photography, videography or other media in

any future advertising material that we see fit. This can/will include use on our website, social media

accounts, and television, radio, or print publications.
