In Pompeii the lost city

Hello I am your Tour guide my name is

Rasheda .There were eight gates in the wall

around Pompeii.

We are now in Porta Marina gate. The Porta

Marina gate was originally gate to the sea. There were two arches one for pedestrians and the other one for pack

animals.

We are now in the Vesuvios gate.

This gate led to Via Vesuvio in Pompeii

We are now in Herculaneum gate This

gate led into Pompeii.Outside of this gate was

the street of tombs. There were three

arches. The two smaller for pedestrians the

larger was for wagons

We are now in Sarno gate.

This gate led into Via Dell Abbondanza in

Pompeii

We are now in Stabian gate.

This gate led to the Via Stabian in Pompeii.

We are now in Nucerian gate

We are now in the tower of Mercury.

There were originally twelve towers around

the walls of Pompeii ..This tower was the end of the Via Di Mercurio.

This tower has three storeys that were used for patrolling and for

look out.
